Rev. Mertes, Ottoville To Locate in Texas

            Rev. J. B. Mertes, pastor of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville, has gone to Texas for the benefit of his health. During his absence Rev. Ludwig assistant pastor of the church, will be in charge until Rev. Mertes returns.

Branch Service is to Continue

            Service on the Ottoville – Mandale branch of the C. H. & D. railroad may be continued, according to an official of the road. This branch of the line has at least always been self-sustaining and the official said he could see no reason why it would be abandoned.

            The Delphos – Ottoville branch must necessarily be abandoned. In his opinion however, as the company has never made money on it. More money will be lost on the division it is thought if the Delphos – Stillwater line is junked.

            The Ft. Wayne – Findlay line will also continue in existence. If arrangements are made to keep trains on the Ottoville – Mandale line in service.
