Pamela D. Phillips
Pamela Diane Phillips, 53, of North Vernon, Indiana passed away at 2:22 a.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon, Indiana.
Ms. Phillips was born on April 4, 1961 in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania the daughter of Margaret Cramer King and the late James King.
Ms. Phillips worked for Bradford Soap Company in Columbus, Indiana for five years. She was a 1979 graduate of Ottoville High School in Ottoville, Ohio. She enjoyed motorcycles and race cars.
She is survived by her companion, Robert White, III of North Vernon, Indiana; two sons, Kye (Brittany) Phillips of Columbus, Indiana and Robert (Nicole) White IV of Taylorsville, Indiana; two daughters, Susan Phillips of Columbus, Indiana and Casey Wagner of North Vernon, Indiana; her mother, Margaret King of North Baltimore, Ohio, two brothers, Jim King and Tony King both of North Baltimore, Ohio; a sister, Jamie Young of Columbus, Indiana and seven grandchildren, Rory Phillips of Columbus, Indiana, Isiah, Dakota and Hannah White all of Taylorsville, Indiana, Kyanny, John and Kara Wagner all of North Vernon, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Edwin Cramer.
A Family Gathering will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the Cornerstone Fellowship of Elizabethtown, Indiana. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon, Indiana were entrusted with the care of the arrangements.

Velma M. Altenburger
Velma M. Altenburger, 93, of Ottoville died at 2:46 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born August 30, 1921 in Ft. Jennings to the late Arnold and Ida (Wieging) Martin. On June 5, 1943 she married Jerome "Whitey" Altenburger who died April 4, 2010.
She is survived by 3 children: Gary (Nuan) Altenburger of Thailand, Bruce (Sylvia) Altenburger of Delphos, and Judy (Mike) Heitmeyer of Ottoville; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Jim (Pat) Martin of Ottoville and Bob (Dolly) Martin of Landeck; and 2 sisters: Joan "Tooter" Wessell and Bernice Rieger both of Ottoville. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Leroy "Pep" Martin and 2 brothers-in-law: George Rieger and Ron Wessell.
Velma was a cashier for the Village Market in Ottoville. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and its Rosary Altar Society. She was a life member of the Ottoville VFW Auxiliary and a member of Ft. Jennings American Legion Auxiliary.
She was determined in her independence, still living at home at 93 years old. She so appreciated all the visits and phone calls from family and friends in her final years. Always the hostess, she would never let company leave hungry. She treasured the many winters spent in St. Petersburg, FL with Whitey. Her love for making crafts, cooking and baking will not soon be forgotten. She lended those talents for many years to the Ottoville VFW Auxiliary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township where there will be a VFW Auxiliary service at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Marilyn Yates
Marilyn Yates, 74, of Ottoville, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 6:17 a.m. at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
She was born July 19, 1940 at home in Putnam County to Edward and Lucille (Ellerbrock) Sanders. They preceded her in death.
Marilyn was united in marriage to Daniel E. Yates on May 13, 1960 in Ft. Leavenworth, KS. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2002.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Kathy Daniels of Grover Hill and Debra Yates of Los Angeles; 2 sons Jerome (Johanna) Yates of Berea and Jeff Yates of Valparaiso, IN; one brother, Gerald (Judy) Raccine, WI; 5 sisters, Sister Anna Maria of Dayton, Carol Meyer of Ft. Jennings, Karen (Jim) King of Cairo, OH, Mary (Mike) Hoverman of Maumee, and Barb Sanders of Columbus, OH; 11 grandchildren: Amber, Dan, Trent, Todd, Jackie, Josh, Emily, Adrian, Adam, Zane and Christina; and 3 great-grandchildren: Abriana, Graydyn, and Lucas. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Gregory L. Yates, a brother, Tom Sanders, and a grandson, Dylan Yates.
She was in the Women’s Army Corp (WAC), U.S. Army from 1958-1960. She was one of the first women in Van Wert County to join WAC and was very proud of this achievement. She worked at Delphos Memorial Home for 23 years. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed the outdoors and animals, and loved to travel. Marilyn was very involved in her grandchildren’s lives and frequently attended activities the children participated in.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville, OH with Father Jerome Schetter officiating. Full military grave rites will be held directly following mass. Friends and family may call Monday, February 23, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, OH. Bonita K. Mansfield
Bonita K. "Bonnie" Mansfield, 65, died peacefully at her home 9:30 a.m. March 1, 2015. She was born on June 22, 1949 in Cloverdale, to Othmar "Ottie" and Celeste "Babe" (Heimann) Wannemacher, who preceded her in death.
Bonnie was a 1967 graduate of Ottoville High School. On April 19, 1969 she married the love of her life Stanley D. "Stan" Mansfield of Continental. She worked at Philips ECG for 23½ years, where she met her "little buddies" and kept their friendship till this day. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend; she truly was an angel on earth. She always enjoyed her family's company and talking on the phone and going to lunch with her buddies. She loved going to church, praying the rosary and reading her daily prayers, writing in her diary, doing crossword and sudoku puzzles, playing solitaire on the iPad, watching her soap opera and enjoying her "paradise" by the river. She will be remembered by her kindness, thoughtfulness and love she had for everyone, especially for God and his many blessings he bestowed upon her and her loved ones. She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale, where she started the youth choir, and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, Cloverdale.
She is survived by her husband, Stan and her children: Stacey (Larry) Krietemeyer of Worthington, Stan II (Dawn) Mansfield of Cloverdale, and Stefanie (Nathan) Miller of Columbus; 10 grandchildren: Brandon, Brady, Brock, Bryce and Brielle Krietemeyer, Jonah, Preston and Caleb Mansfield, and Kailey and Kylin Miller; five brothers and sisters, Charlene (John) Willey of Cloverdale, Robert "Bob" (Cheryl) Wannemacher of Lima, Kenneth Wannemacher, Mary Ann (Tom) Clementz and Tom (Carol) Wannemacher, all of Cloverdale; a sister-in-law: Cheryl (Alan) Deatrick of Defiance; 18 nieces and nephews; and 33 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter: Camryn Mae Mansfield and her in-laws: Robert "Bob" and Virginia Mansfield and Bob's second wife, Betty.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Cloverdale, with Fr. John Stites officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Betty Schumacher
Betty Schumacher, 76, died at 5:30 a.m., on Friday, March 6, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio.
She was born on March 18, 1938 in Ottoville, Ohio, to William and Mary (Landwehr) Turnwald, who preceded her in death.
On January 9, 1965, Betty married Karl Schumacher, who survives in Columbus Grove, Ohio.
Mrs. Schumacher was a graduate of Ottoville High School. She was a member of St. Anthony Church, the Altar Rosary Society of the Church and was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
She worked at the Putnam County Court House, Engineers office with Mr. Richard Recker. She retired from the village offices of Columbus Grove. Betty was a 4-H advisor for many years of the Columbus Grove Spic and Span 4-H club. She loved to bake cookies for the grandchildren to take back to college. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing doll clothes for the granddaughters. Family was the joy of her life; going to children and grandchildren events at church and school. Betty looked forward to all family holiday events and special occasions.
Survivors include one son: Randy (Roxanne) Schumacher, Columbus Grove; three daughters: Lori (Troy) Schroeder, Columbus Grove, Karen (Teddy McCoy) Gerding, Kalida and Karla (Ray) Boes, Pandora; 15 grandchildren: Rachel, Robyn, Riley, Reed, Tyler, Kyle, Katie, Linzi, Karissa, Tejay, Tyler, Jeff, Matt, Logan and Lucas; and one brother: John Turnwald, Ottoville.
Betty was preceded in death by a grandson: Rob Gerding; her sister; Anna Marie Eickholt and three brothers: Sylvester, Leon and William, Jr. Turnwald.
Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, with Father Tom Extejt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Columbus Grove.
Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday and 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, where a Rosary Service will follow the end of visitation on Monday evening.

Alice T. Youngpeter
Alice T. Youngpeter, 78, of Delphos, passed away on March 10, 2015, at Lima Memorial Hospital with her daughter by her side.
She was born in Ottoville on August 6, 1936, to William and Clara (Merschman) Landwehr. On January 15, 1955, she was united in marriage to James W. Youngpeter who passed away on January 29, 1998.
She is survived by three children Karen Sue (Steve) Burwell of Lima, Kenneth W. (Mickey) of Bell, FL and Robert J. (Helen) Youngpeter of Delphos. She is survived by her brother Norbert Landwehr, 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and 2 sisters, Leona C. Fisher and Helen L. Fleming.
Alice was a member of Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, theVFW post 3035 Lady's Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and putting together jig saw puzzles. Alice felt completely at home in the assisted living at Vancrest. She truly enjoyed every aspect of her three year. Her family will be forever grateful for the staff and residence that made her stay so beautiful.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday March 13, 2015, at 11:00, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the mass.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2015, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a parish wake at 7:30 and Auxiliary service at 7:00 at Harter and Schier memorial chapel.

Oscar A. Beining
Oscar A. Beining, 88, of Ottoville died 12:43 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Van Crest of Delphos.
He was born July 27, 1926 in Van Wert County, OH to the late Henry and Mary (Sanders) Beining. On November 24, 1973 he married Rita C. Day, who preceded him in death on April 21, 2009.
He is survived by his children: John (Mary) Lewis of Lima and Janet (Gary) Bennett of Glendale, AZ; 8 grandchildren: Troy Stonehill, Angela, Aaron, Nathan , Laura, and Michael Bennett, Tonya Farley and Michael Lewis; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters-in-law: Mildred Beining of Ottoville and MariLou Beining of Stowe.
He is preceded in death by a son: Michael Lewis; 4 brothers: Adolph, John, Melvin and Lawrence Beining; and 5 sisters: Veronica Hilvers, Marcella Beining, Bertha Kimmet, Elinor Kimmet and Martha Noonan.
Oscar was a farmer, who lived and worked on the family farm near Ottoville, his entire life and received recognition as a Century Farm. He attended Hoaglin-Jackson School. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and was a former member of the Holy Name Society. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Rita and he treasured his family. He loved going out to lunch/dinner and his laughter, smiles and "Oh Golly's" will be missed.

Alfred E. Hilvers

Alfred E. Hilvers, 83, died March 27, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born March 13, 1932, in Ottoville, to Alex and Cara (Kracht) Hilvers, who preceded him in death. On April 18, 1952, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, he married Irma Haunhorst, who survives in Delphos. They were married by Bishop Albert Ottenweller.
Mr. Hilvers was an Army veteran, serving in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955. He retired from Trim Trends Inc., Spencerville, after 46 years. He was a volunteer firefighter for Delphos from 1968 to 1993, serving as captain from 1989 to 1993. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3035, Delphos Eagles Aerie 471, American Legion Post 368, Knights of Columbus Council 1362 and Moose Lodge 1533 in Indian Lake. He enjoyed trips to the casinos, fishing, spending time at Indian Lake and the woods, playing euchre and watching Blue Jay basketball games. He also valued spending time with his family.
Survivors also include three daughters, Kathy (Dennis) Hageman, Sue (Bob) Jettinghoff and Jan Hilvers, all of Delphos; five grandchildren: Dr. Jason Hageman, Curt (Kayla Weber) Hageman, and Kristina, Todd and Chad Jettinghoff; a brother, Leonard (Virgilene) Hilvers; and a sister-in-law, Doris Hilvers.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer (Eva) Hilvers and Ralph; and a sister, Dolores (Jim) Montooth.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Ron Shock will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, with military rites by the Delphos Veterans Council.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today and 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Gerald H. "Jerry" Hilvers, 72, of Ottoville died 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1943 in Lima to the late George and Lucinda (Miller) Hilvers. On April 25, 1964 he married Jane Miller who survives in Ottoville.
Gerald is also survived by their children: Janice (Fred) Drerup of Ottoville, Joyce (Bob) Wehner of London, Julie (Ron) Warnecke of Monclova, Jacqueline "Jackie" (Joe) Wrasman of Delphos and Gerald "Jerry" (Stefanie) Hilvers, Jr. of Ottoville; 9 grandchildren: Jennifer (Ryan) Braid of Colorado, Erica (Ryan) Brown of Plain City, Adam Warnecke of Monclova, Kyle (Carolyn) Drerup of New York, Emily (James) Alexander of Columbus, Kayla Wrasman of Holland, and Luke, Mark and Alayna Wrasman, all of Delphos; 1 step-grandchild: Aaron (Mindy) Wehner of London; 4 Great-grandchildren: Henry and Francis Drerup, Jay Brown and Caleb Alexander; 3 step-great-grandchildren: Ivan, Max and Ava Wehner; a sister, Jane Bonifas of Landeck; 2 brothers: Philip (Carol) Hilvers and Mark (Kathy) Hilvers both of Ottoville; and a sister-in-law: (Norma) Hilvers of Pennsboro, WV. Gerald was a retired farmer and had worked construction. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Amelia E. Bullinger
Amelia E. "Millie" Bullinger, 92, of Ft. Jennings died at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at The Meadows of Kalida.
She was born April 23, 1922 in Ottoville to the late Frank and Elsie (Blockberger) Carder. On August 9, 1947 she married Richard C. Bullinger who died September 29, 1972.
She is survived by 3 children: Grace (Jeff "Bear") Dickman and Thomas "Bulldog" (Jill) Bullinger both of Ft. Jennings, and Joseph "Pup" (Dawn) Bullinger of Delphos; 10 grandchildren: Dr. Todd (Beth) Bulllinger, Dr. Katie (Dr. Bryan Jewell) Bullinger, Kevin (Erica) Bullinger, Lindsey Bullinger, Sarah Dickman, Cory Dickman, Renee Dickman, Matt (Trista) Bullinger, Ben Babcock, and Ryan Bullinger; 2 great-grandchildren; Daniel Jewell and Patrick Bullinger, with one on-the-way in June; 1 brother: Richard Carder of Ottoville; 1 sister: Jeanette (Donny) Mesker of Oakwood; a brother-in-law: Rollin Bullinger of Oakwood; and a sister-in-law: Lucille Carder of Delphos.
Preceded in death by: Francis and Myrtle Brotherwood, Orville "Bud" and Clara Carder, Joanne Carder, Delbert and Marty Carder, Mary Lou Bullinger, Wilfred and Lois Osting, Don Carder, and Colleen Carder.
Millie was a nurses aide for 35 years at Van Crest Nursing Home in Delphos, where she showed true compassion and kindness to the residents and their families. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings.
Millie's greatest accomplishments were raising her family and caring for their home that she and Richard built together. She took great pride in her beautiful flowers and loved to garden. Millie also loved to bake pies and cinnamon rolls and never missed a chance to share them with her family, friends, and neighbors. Her favorite pastimes were celebrating holidays, sharing her childhood stories and singing old songs with her grandchildren. We will miss her bright eyes and sweet smile. Her love and kindness to everyone throughout her life will never be forgotten.
To cherish her memory and celebrate her life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings with Fr. Charles Obinwa officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Delphos.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township and one hour prior to the mass on Saturday at the church. A rosary will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
To reflect on Millie's passions all donations made to the family will be given to Mary's Garden at St. Joseph Catholic Church and to be used to provide additional comforts to local nursing home residents.

Virginia A. Hoffman
Virginia A. Hoffman, 101, died at 4:15 p.m., on April 10, 2015, at The Meadows of Kalida, Kalida, Ohio.
She was born on March 16, 1914, in Ottoville, Ohio, to the late Stephen and Adeline (Miehls) Looser.
On January 12, 1937, she married Virgil G. Hoffman, who died December 3, 1974.
Mrs. Hoffman was a member of St. Anthony Church, the Altar Rosary and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and bowling. Virginia especially enjoyed mowing her lawn, which she did until age 98.
Survivors include one son: John (Kathy) Hoffman of Columbus Grove; two daughters: Jean Kohls and Marilyn (Mike) Allen, both of Columbus Grove; ten grandchildren: Dennis (LaDonna) Kohls, Mark (Laurie) Kohls, Jeffrey (Traci) Kohls, Jill (Tim) Oard, Jan (Dennis) Barkimer, Todd (Dee) Hoffman, Amy (Bill) Carder, Jason (Julia) Allen, Scott Allen and Rob (Jill) Allen; 28 great grandchildren: Jesse, Amanda, Brittany, Tyler, Ali, Morgan, Erin, Jenna, Heather, Greg, Jennifer, Kristin, Landon, Connor, Ryan, Andy, Josh, Blake, Brooke, Blaine, Brock, Breanna, Caleb, Natalie, B.J., Andrew, Ian and Hope; eight great great grandchildren: Addisen, Grace, Jack, Jayce, Brielle, Jeriah, Caeden and Brody.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: George and John Looser; and three sisters: Elinor Swint, Marjorie Dunlap and Joanne Nichols.

Paul P. Beining
Paul P. Beining, 77, of Ottoville, passed away 9:35 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at The Meadows of Kalida with his family. He was born March 14, 1938 in Ottoville to the late Oliver and Elizabeth (Gasser) Beining. On May 21, 1960, he married his wife of 55 years, Anna M. Schlagbaum, who survives in Ottoville.
He is also survived by three Sons: Tom (Cheryl) Beining and Brian (Ann) Beining, both of Ottoville and Mitch (Kathy) Beining of Powell; a daughter: Brenda (Kevin) Ricker of Fort Jennings; 13 grandchildren: Beth (Adam) Schnipke, Laura (Travis) Tenwalde, Megan (Dusty) Wehri, Kurt Beining (fiancée, Jayme Bockrath), Katrina, Lynn, Sam, Joel, Maya, Max and Ellie Beining, and Seth and Troy Ricker; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Betty) Beining of Ottoville; four Sisters: Leona Berelsman of Delphos, Edna Baxter of Van Wert, Adeline Beining of Indianapolis, Ruth Schroeder of Onsted, MI; sisters-in-law: Rita Beining and Martha (Gerald) Fischbach both of Ottoville, Norma Hilvers of West Virginia, Diane (Dave) Honigford of Indian Lake; brothers-in-law: Bill (Donna) Schlagbaum of Delphos, Paul "Sam" (Cynthia) Schlagbaum of Colorado. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Julius Beining and Robert Beining; two sisters: Norma Reindel and Ludvina Beining; and in-laws: Paul Hilvers, Linus Berelsman, Bernard Reindel, Ruth Beining and Harold Schroeder.
Paul was a graduate of Ottoville High School and The Ohio State University. He was retired from Buckeye Exterminating and spent most of his working years in the ag business industry. Paul was a 32 year kidney transplant survivor, having been donated a kidney by his brother Bob in 1983. He was also an active member of Ottoville Immaculate Conception Church where he had previously been an usher and served on the parish council. Paul was a family man and treasured the time spent with them.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Meadows of Kalida and Putnam County Hospice for their compassionate care.

Virgil F. Tenwalde
Virgil Frank Tenwalde, 88, of Ottoville died 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center, Frankfort, KY.
He was born December 14, 1926 in Kalida to the late Frank and Clara (Siebeneck) Tenwalde. On May 8, 1948 he married Wilma Schumaker, who preceded him in death on April 13, 2010.
He is survived by 13 children: Julie (Gordon) Vogt of Delphos, Joan (Steve) Schleeter of St. Mary's, Kathy (Joe) Owen of Spencerville, Carl (Cathy) Tenwalde of Ft. Jennings, Ken Tenwalde of Defiance, Jane Leiendecker of Pandora, Sharon (Chip) Okuly of Continental, Carol (John) Jones of Elida, Annette (Denny) Korney of Continental, Tony (Angie) Tenwalde of Cloverdale, Theresa (Phil) St. John of Frankfort, KY, Lori (Joe) Mangas of Montero, Bolivia, and Vickie Mangas of Defiance; a close niece: Sylvia Zylstra of Punta Gorda, FL; 40 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Michelle Schleeter and a son-in-law: Dave Leiendecker.
Virgil was a farmer and retired from Federal Mogul, Van Wert in 1993 where he worked as a chrome plater. As an Army veteran of WWII he served in Japan. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and a former member of the Ottoville VFW.
Virgil enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and took special pride in his flower beds. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Every one of them held a special place in his heart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville with military rites by the Ft. Jennings American Legion and Ottoville VFW.

Cletus J. Vincke
Cletus Joseph Vincke, 97, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015, in Newport News, Va.
Born in Ottoville, OH, he has been a resident of Newport News since 1932. He retired from NASA as an Electrical Engineer in 1977.
Cletus graduated from St. Gerard's High School in Lima, OH and Ohio Northern University in Ada, OH. He was a very active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, serving as an usher, lector and Eucharistic minister. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 5480 and the Institute of Electrical And Electronics Engineers.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of their children, Alice Marie Vincke; second wife, Mary "Sis" Vincke; brothers, Elvin and Lester Vincke; and sister, Rose Vincke Hoehn; and step-son, Wayne Deans. Surviving are his daughters, Joan Marie Vincke of Hampton and Susan Elizabeth Vincke of Newport News; step-children, Bob Deans (Sandra) of Newport News, Leslie Reynolds (Bobby) of Yorktown; and five nieces.
The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 PM Monday, April 27, 2015 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church. Immediately following at 6:00 PM, A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Rev. John David Ramsey. Interment will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Peninsula Memorial Park.

Vernon L. Schroeder, 80, of Ottoville died 11:37 a.m. Thursday, April 23, 2015 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born July 19, 1934 in New Cleveland, OH to the late Vincent and Katherine (Lammers) Schroeder. On September 3, 1956 he married Jeanette M. "Dolly" Wannemacher who preceded him in death on December 8, 2010.
He is survived by his children: Randy (Jen) Schroeder of Kokomo, IN, Sue Schroeder of Nashville, TN, Scott Schroeder of Curtice, Tony (Mary Kay) Schroeder of Ottoville, Joe Schroeder of Glandorf, Sandy (Tom) Miller of Saline, MI, and Steve (Jami) Schroeder of Ottoville; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 6 brothers: Fr. Denny Schroeder of Tiffin, Mark (Norma) Schroeder of New Cleveland, Earl (Jeanette) Schroeder of Glandorf, Steve (Helen) Schroeder of Atlanta, GA, Vincent (Mary) Schroeder of New Cleveland, and Louie (Jan) Schroeder of Chicago, IL; 4 sisters: Marilyn Ruhe of New Cleveland, Evie Milano of Chicago, IL, Pat (John) Bennett of Lima, and Sr. Paulette Schroeder of Tiffin; and a sister-in-law: Jean Schroeder of Shawnee, OH.

Vern was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and was a former member of the St. Mary's Cemetery Board. He was a retired electrician with Ford Motor Company, Lima where he worked for 44 years, never missing a day.
He was an avid horseshoe pitcher and won his division in the 1997 World Horseshoe Championships. He was a member of the 1950 Miller City High School state basketball championship team.
Vern was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, enjoyed going to Ottoville Basketball games and stopping at the VFW with his good friends, and loved to read and spent a lot of time at the Ottoville Branch Library. His passion was the outdoors where he enjoyed maintaining his yard and property and watching it grow and flourish and his favorite pastime was being with his grandchildren and watching them grow too.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, with Father Jerome Schetter and Father Denny Schroeder officiating. She was born March 4, 1930 in Ft. Jennings to the late Alex and Florence (Horstman) Weichart. On July 28, 1951 she married Henry J. Kemper who died June 10, 1980.

In 1964, “Big Jim” attended the University of Dayton and was a member of the Flyer’s basketball team which reached the NCAA Championship Game during the 1966-67 Season. He was the beloved “Miller Beer Man” for over 38 years until retiring from Bonbright Distributors. To his co-workers, he was “Wanne-the legend.” Jim was the happiest when he was on one of his motorcycles, his boat and camper with his family, tending to his many birdfeeders, and simply sitting with his dogs on his lap. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

Mary Ann Grote 77, of Kalida, died 1:45 a.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born September 16, 1937 in Ottoville to the late William and Mary (Ricker) Gasser. She was one of 14 children. On August 11, 1956 she married to Melvin Fortman who died August 1, 1968. On April 4, 1970 she married Edwin Grote who died October 27, 2005.
She is survived by eight children: Debra (Larry) Niese of Miller City, Diana (Dennis) Kerner of Kalida, Roger (Janice) Fortman of Durham, NC, Gary (Kim) Fortman of Kalida, Douglas (Norma) Fortman of Ottoville, Carol Merschman of Kalida, Cheryl Grote of Bowling Green and Michele (Andrew) Riley of Van Wert; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren with one on the way; one brother: Robert (Dorothy) Gasser of Ottoville; five sisters: Rita Miller of Warsaw, IN, Leona (Leonard) Bruskotter and LaDonna Ostendorf both of Ft. Jennings, Alvera (Gene) Kleman of Wichita, KS and Delores (Tony) Schulte of Kalida.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law: Andy Merschman; a grandson: Adam Kerner; a great-grandson: Zachary Eickholt; two brothers: Art Gasser, William Gasser; five sisters: Ann Knippen, Dorothy Osting, Agnes Knippen, Regina Boehmer, and LaVera Hanf.

Gary Lee Kehres, 39, of Ottoville, died 12:20 p.m. May 14, 2015 at his residence. He was born June 1, 1975 in Lima to Carl and Marcille (Landwehr) Kehres, who survive in Ottoville.

Francis C. Brickner, 78, of Ottawa, died at 12:48 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born August 4, 1936 in Ottoville to the late Andrew and Veronica (Liebrecht) Brickner. On September 14, 1963 he married Marilyn C. "Woodie" Harwood who died April 1, 2003.
Frank is survived by 3 children: Colleen (Steve) Scheckelhoff, Daniel Brickner, and Sean (Heather) Brickner all of Ottawa; 7 granddaughters: Kara (Craig) Fortman, Brittany Scheckelhoff, Kathryn "Kate" Scheckelhoff, Megan Scheckelhoff, Ava Brickner, Sophia Brickner, and Claire Brickner; 3 brothers: Andrew (Pat) Brickner of Ottawa, Art (Sharon) Brickner of Elida, and Mert (Mary) Brickner of Kalida; a sister: Mary (Don) Partin of Vaughnsville. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Don Brickner and a sister: Alice Brickner.
Frank was a forklift driver for Ford in Lima and was an Army veteran. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, Ottawa Eagles 2234, and a life member of the Ottawa American Legion.

Illa Rose Honigford, age 81, passed away following a brief illness in Tucson, Arizona on Tuesday, June 9, surrounded by her loving children.
Born July 5, 1933 in Ottoville, Ohio to Irma and Joseph Bohn, she lived in Columbus Grove and Lima, Ohio before retiring to Arizona, where she loved many forms of arts and crafts, the Arizona Wildcats, and spending time with her five children, Robert, Russell, Peggy, Wayne and Ronda, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
Illa was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Robert, her brothers Fred and Paul Bohn, and two infant daughters, Pamela and Janice.

Thomas L. Gemmer
Thomas Leon Gemmer, 67, of Van Wert, passed into his heavenly reward at 11:11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert, with his loving and supporting family and friends surrounding him.
He was born January 10, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Edward and Mabel (Gallogly) Gemmer, who preceded him in death. On April 25, 1980, he was united in marriage with Jean Ann (Herman) Gemmer, who survives him in Van Wert.
He is also survived by his children, John Thomas (Christine) Gemmer of Ohio City, Chris (Jennifer) Gemmer of Chesapeake, Virginia and Jill Gemmer at home; six grandchildren, Erin, Alixandra, Johan and Brooke Gemmer, as well as Austin and Tyler (Lee Hannah) McNeilan; one great-grandson, Brodie McNeilan; and his siblings, twin brother Tim (Marilyn) Gemmer and John Phillip Gemmer, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Robert LaChar of Florida, Russell LaChar of Indianapolis, Kevin McNay of California and Orene Wilson of Franklin, Indiana.
Three brothers, Pete, Larry and Harry LaChar, also preceded him in death.
Tom was employed both as a licensed physician’s assistant and a registered nurse. He took great pride in the care he was able to provide to others, especially through hospice care.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, Knights of Columbus Council 6034, 4th Degree Bishop Neumann Assembly 829 and the choir at St. Mary’s Church. He had proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired after 26½ years of service as a chief warrant officer. He had been awarded the Bronze Star medal, with valor; two Purple Hearts and numerous other commendations. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, American Legion Post 178 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 54, all in Van Wert, the Eagles Aerie in Delphos and was a Delphos St. John’s booster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father Stan Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery in Ottoville, where graveside military honors will be rendered.
Calling hours are from 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert.

John F. Wanamaker
John Frederick Wanamaker, 90, passed away on June 21, 2015, at home in Johnstown, Pa. Born in Brighton, Mich., January 22, 1925, to Martin and Elizabeth (Utrup) Wanamaker. His family returned to their Ottoville, Ohio, hometown during the Great Depression where John was known to ice skate to school on frozen canals during winter months.
His father, a graduate of University of Michigan Law School, set up practice in Columbus, Ohio, in the 1930s where John graduated from Holy Rosary High School in 1942. As was typical of our “Greatest Generation,” John immediately enlisted in the military, fearing the war would end before he would deploy for combat duty in the Pacific. At the age of 18, serving as hospital corpsman attached to the U.S. Marines – 2nd Division, John received the Bronze Star (with Valor) for combat heroism during the initial assault wave on the island of Saipan. Upon his return, John attended Ohio State University where he studied history, a lifelong interest. During this time, he joined the Navy Reserves as a transport pilot which qualified him for active duty in the Navy’s flight training program. This was, in his words, “a moment that changed my life.” While stationed in San Diego, he met LT Mary M. Hogan, a Navy nurse, both bright and beautiful, who became his wife of 56 years.
John’s illustrious and highly decorated military career spanned three armed conflicts. He volunteered for four tours of duty in Vietnam and was named “Air Boss” while serving with Squadron VA-43 on the USS Enterprise. In a moment of respite from long years of conflict, he and his squadron buddies were selected to fly mock-up Japanese planes in the filming of the attack on Pearl Harbor in "Tora! Tora! Tora!" John is noted for having logged more flight hours in the A-1H Skyraider than any other naval aviator. In March, 1967, while attached to Attack Squadron VA-52, then CDR Wanamaker received the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity during operations against North Vietnam. From 1970 until his retirement from active duty in 1977, John served as Congressional Liaison in the Pentagon Office of Legislative Affairs, traveling with congressional delegations to the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Military careers come with many challenges, particularly for a family man, but John accepted new orders with a sense of adventure and encouraged his children to do the same, even when it involved yet another trip across country – from Monterey to Warwick to Alameda and back east once again to Virginia Beach.
After 32 years of service, John continued to dedicate his life to addressing the needs of his fellow servicemen and women when he joined the staff of the Retired Officers Association as Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs. Over the next 13 years, his efforts ensured that the rights and benefits of active, reserve, and retired members of the uniformed services and their families remained secure. Among his many achievements are increasing the SGLI/VGLI insurance coverage for active duty and reserve personnel and the enactment and modification of the Montgomery GI bill enabling young Americans to attend college. As was noted in the Congressional Record, 101st Congress (1989-1990), “He has given unselfishly to his country for some 45 years and will be sorely missed.”
John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Hogan) Wanamaker of Salem, Mass., and by his three brothers, Francis (Rosemary), Charles (Ann), and Louis (Dorothy).
He is survived by brother-in-law, Richard Hogan (Barbara) of Danvers, Mass.; his three daughters, Anne Howell of Great Falls, Va., Julie Sheehan (Ed) of Johnstown, Pa., and MaryBeth Boyd (Brad) of Wilmington, Del.; eight grandchildren, Katherine Rutledge (Jonathan) of Johnstown Pa., Mary Sheehan of Columbus, Ohio, Natalie Sheehan of Pittsburgh, Pa., Bridget Sheehan of Johnstown, Pa., Mark Howell of Great Falls, Va., and Patrick, Ryan and Margaret Boyd of Wilmington, Del.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation is scheduled Friday, June 26, at Frank Duca Funeral Home, 1622 Menoher Blvd., Johnstown, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, 430 Tioga St, Johnstown, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 27. Burial with Full Military Honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Therapy Development Institute in Cambridge, Mass., are appreciated.

Irene R. Schroeder
Irene R. Schroeder, 83, of Glandorf died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday, July 4, 2015 at the Meadows of Ottawa surrounded by her loving family.
She was born April 26, 1932 in Ottoville to the late Sylvester and Philomena (Mueller) Brinkman. On May 13, 1953, she married Alphonse J. Schroeder who died October 18, 1997.
She is survived by her children: Dennis Schroeder of Ottawa; Carol Selhorst and Cathy Diller both of Glandorf and Jeannie (Michael) Kramer of Ottoville; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a sister: Mary Ann Stechschulte of Columbus Grove; a brother: Ralph (Doris) Brinkman of Ottoville; In-Laws: Alvin (Delores) Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Mary Ann Schroeder of Columbus Grove, Ruth Schroeder of Onstead, MI., Margaret Sebastian of Liverpool, NY., Mary Ida Schroeder of Kalida.
Irene is also preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law: James Selhorst and Robert "Bob" Diller.
Irene retired from Ottawa-Glandorf School where she worked in the cafeteria and thoroughly enjoyed it. She was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Glandorf and its Altar Rosary Society and Ottawa's Senior Citizens. She enjoyed visiting the residents of the area nursing homes. She was an avid fair goer, where she enjoyed not only watching her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other participants show their projects. Throughout her life she not only prayed the rosary for her intentions, but for all those around her which brought her great peace. She enjoyed spoiling her grandkids with her homemade cinnamon rolls.

Ralph R. Pohl
Ralph R. Pohl, age 70, was called into the presence of the Lord at 8:00 a.m. Friday, July 10, 2015, in his home.
Ralph was born August 20, 1944 in Ottoville, OH, to the late Bernard and Martha (Hilvers) Pohl. On July 1, 2000 he married Nan C. Crawford Pohl, who survives in Lima. His first wife Betty (Hosey) Pohl preceded him in death.
Mr. Pohl was a 1962 graduate of Ottoville High School. Ralph was owner / operator of Pohl Construction Company. He was a prayer warrior, who enjoyed helping others by using his construction skills on mission trips thoughout the United States and foreign countries. Ralph would often spontaneously break out in prayer, and loved to sing. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Bluelick Bible Church, and sang in the choir.
Ralph was blessed with four children, Mark (Vanessa) Pohl of Winona Lake, IN, Debi (Dan) Renner of Pickerington, OH, Kim (Bob) Westergaard of Spring Grove, IL, and Lindsay (Josh) Reddick of Martinsville, IN; four Step-children, Joe (Lori) Crawford of Glennville, GA, Pastor Chad (Karen) Crawford of Eatonton, GA, Brad (Julie) Crawford, of Lima, OH, and Kevin (Ginger) Crawford, of Milford, NJ; twenty three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Other survivors include, a brother, Richard "Dick" (Dorothy) Pohl, of Cairo, OH; and two sisters, Rita (Dave) Croy, of Kalida, OH, and Edna (Ron) Haselman, of Ottawa, OH.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Pohl, and sister, Delores Pohl.
Funeral services will begin 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 at Bluelick Bible Church, 1138 Bluelick Road, Lima, Ohio 45804. Pastor Chad Crawford, and Pastor Jim Neighbors will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Harmon Cemetery.

George J. Lubeley
George Joseph Lubeley, 96, of Ottoville died 1:34 a.m. Tuesday at his residence.
He was born May 23, 1919, in St. Louis, Missouri, to George A. and Cecelia (Jergens) Lubeley, who preceded him in death.
On July 25, 1974, he married Marie Theresa Weber at the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Lansing, Mchigian. She survives.
He is also survived by a brother: Rev. Richard J. Lubeley; two sisters: Elizabeth Kuntz and Joan Aherns, all of St. Louis; and 13 loving nieces and nephews. His family also includes his in-laws, Stanley (Grace) Weber, Patsy Weber, James (Arleen) Weber, Ruth Weber, Marilyn Weber and Virgil (Nancy) Hohlbein.
George is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Demarins; brothers-in-law, Anthony Demarins, Sylvester Kuntz, Anthony Ahrens, John Weber, Louis Weber and Thomas Weber; and a sister-in-law, Joann Weber Hohlbein.
Mr. Lubeley retired from the Department of Human Services, Elder Services Section, of the State of New Hampshire. Previously he was Director of Senior Services at Northern Essex Community Mental Health Services in Haverhill, Massachusetts, after having directed the Senior Center in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. He held leadership positions in social work for the elderly with visiting nurses in New Hampshire and as the first director of the Senior Nutrition Program for three counties in Central Michigan. In retirement, his volunteer service included day-care at the University Center on Aging/Alzheimer’s Association in Lexington, Kentucky, and group work at the Community Mental Health Center in Alexandria, Virginia. He worked as a private caretaker for an Alzheimer patient at the same time. More recently he volunteered in Putnam County hospice program. He held a master’s degree in counseling from the University of New Hampshire and also held a certificate in Retirement Housing Management from the Institute of Gerontology, University of Michigan. His work in elder services spanned 20 years.
In an earlier 30-year career as a member of the Society of the Precious Blood and an ordained priest, he taught Theology at St. Charles Seminary, Carthagena and at St. Joseph’s College in Indiana. His priestly ministry included Chaplaincy for the Sisters of the Precious Blood, Dayton, and Supervision of the Society’s Theological Students at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. He held a graduate degree in Theology from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. In his retirement, he continued his association with the Society of the Precious Blood as a Lay Associate in the Companions, and as a friend of the Society through later publications and presentations on Precious Blood Spirituality. At the time of his death, he was an active participant of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Ottoville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with George’s brother, The Very Reverend Monsignor Richard L. Lubeley, and Father Jerome Schetter co-officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, and again Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at church. A scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ralph Wannemacher
Ralph "Wolfie" Wannemacher, 57, of Ottoville died 8:00 a.m. Sunday, August 23, 2015 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born October 6, 1957 in Lima to the late Ray and Mildred (Siefker) Wannemacher.
Ralph is survived by a brother: Bill (Suzanne) Wannemacher of Ottoville and a sister: Judy (Mike) Bosch of Ottoville; nieces and nephews:
Tara(Evan) Peck, Adria (Zach Petrick) Wannemacher, Eric Wannemacher, Chase Bosch, Hunter Bosch and a great-niece: Meline Peck.
Ralph worked as a carpenter and as a sales associate for Lowes and Vetter's. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. He was a former member of the Ottoville's Jaycees and was instrumental in starting Ottoville's soccer program.
Wolfie's Lake in the Cottonwood Development was named for him.

Robert L. Scarbrough
Robert "Bob" L. Scarbrough, 84, of Grover Hill, died 2:49 a.m., Saturday, September 5, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born December 2, 1930, in Grover Hill, to the late Lawrence and Pearl (Saums) Scarbrough. On July 11, 1997 he married Rosemary Daeger Price, who survives in Grover Hill.
Bob is survived by three children: Sandra (Steve) Stecker of Mindoro, Wisconsin, Sue (Ed) Doster of Broughton, Mike Scarbrough of Wren; five step-children: Patty (Dick) Lehman of Grover Hill, Roger (Karen) Price of Van Wert, Barbara Stork of Defiance, Larry (Helene) Price of Louisiana, Kathy (Terry) Thatcher of Van Wert; 3 grandchildren; 13 step grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 36 step great-grandchildren and 2 step great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother: Frank Scarbrough; and a sister: Jane Oakley.
Bob was retired from the Dana Corporation division in Antwerp. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a lifetime member of Antwerp VFW post #5087, and enjoyed sharing his military stories. He liked to polka dance and listen to music, as well as work in the garden and play cards with friends.

Marvin E. Brandehoff
Marvin E. Brandehoff, 78, of Wapakoneta died at 4:08 p.m. Monday October 5, 2015 at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born on February 2, 1937 in Monterey Township, Putnam County to LaVern J. & Gladys E. (Wreede) Brandehoff who have preceded him in death. On April 8, 1967 he married Karen M. Uppenkamp, who survives in Wapakoneta.
Survivors also include three children, Lori Brandehoff of Wapakoneta, Jerry Brandehoff of New York City, and Kurt (Emily) Brandehoff of Wapakoneta; a grandson, Bolden Brandehoff; four brothers, Paul (Mary) Brandehoff of Defiance, Howard (Marilyn) Brandehoff of St. Johns, Bob (Annalee) Brandehoff of Wapakoneta, and Donnie (Patty) Brandehoff of St. Johns; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Jean Brandehoff and a brother, Richard Brandehoff.
Marvin retired from truck driving after 20 years of service at Orick Tool & Die, Elida. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wapakoneta. In his free time, Marvin enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals, The Ohio State University Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Reds and the Wapakoneta Redskins. His hobbies also included woodworking and vintage cars, especially his 1957 Pontiac Super Chief. Marvin loved going out to eat with his family and spending time with his grandson, Bolden. For nearly 20 years, his passion was working for Metzger Farms, Wapakoneta, where he could be found lending a helping hand to James, Sue, and the late Joe Metzger.

Jerome A. Friemoth
Jerome A. Friemoth, 90, of Ottoville died on Tuesday, October 6th, 2015. He was born January 19th, 1925 to the late Isidor and Ida (Brinkman) Friemoth. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Viola Horstman; they were married on September 27th, 1947.
Also surviving are his 5 children: Jeanne (Tom) Miller of Redondo Beach, CA; Dr. Jerry (Mary) Friemoth of Cincinnati; Diane (Dr. James) Gibfried of Springfield;, Thomas (Penny) Friemoth of Toledo; and Dale (Rachel) Friemoth of Loveland; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law: Louise (Robert "Cookie") Miller of Ottoville.
Jerome is preceded in death by his sister: Mary Catherine Kaverman; 2 great-grandchildren: Christian Buckley and August John Miller; 4 brothers-in-law: Paul Kaverman, Lawrence Eickholt, Edmund Horstman, and Elmer Horstman; and 4 sisters-in-law: Margaret Horstman, Fredonna Eickholt, Ruth Horstman, and Pat Horstman.
Jerome retired after 30 years of service at Ford Motor Company, Lima and was a member of the Ford Retirees. He was an Army Air Corp veteran of WWII. For 30 years he volunteered for the Ottoville Volunteer Fire Department. Jerome was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and was a member of its Holy Name Society and a former member of its Parish Council. He cherished his family so very much and loved the time he spent with them. Jerome enjoyed woodworking, traveling, gardening, reading and playing cards. He will be remembered by many for his handyman skills because he could fix anything!

Mary M. Miller
Mary Marguerite Miller, 73, died 11:28 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2015 at her residence.
She was born December 8, 1941 in Miller City to the late Richard and Beatrice (Rechtine) Brinkman. On September 1, 1962 she married Donald C. Miller, who died May 27, 2009.
Mary was a grandma first and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting angels and books. Mary enjoyed catching up with her many friends at Jim's Restaurant in Delphos and would always take time to help her family and friends. Her infectious laugh will be missed by so many.
Survivors include her children: Donna (Dan) Lindeman, Joyce (Harry) Ricker, and Jerry (Shanda) Miller, all of Delphos and Mike (Vicki) Miller of Shawnee; 12 grandchildren: Dana, David, Derek and Devin Lindeman; Harry III, Maddie and Kaylee Ricker; Morgan, Sophia and Olivia Miller; and Maddy Bremer and Emma Miller; 2 brothers: Kenneth Brinkman of Kalida and Dennis Brinkman of Lima; and a stepsister: Vivian (Robert) Plescher of Ottawa.
Mary is preceded in death by her step-father: Vincent Hedrick and two brothers: Leo Brinkman and Herbert "Herbie" Brinkman.

Rita J. Broecker
Rita J. Broecker, 87, of Ft. Jennings, died 1:34 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2015, at her residence. She was born January 7, 1928 in Ottoville, to the late George and Leona (Brinkman) Smith. On June 1, 1954 she married Elwood "Pats" Broecker who died February 17, 2005.
She is survived by five children: Patricia "Patty" Broecker of Kalida, Elmer (Cathy) Broecker of West Jefferson, Dolores "Dolly" (Mike) Schnipke of Kalida, Robert "Bob" (Joan) Broecker of Delphos, Martha "Marty" (Tony) Burgei of Cloverdale; one sister: Eileen (Barclay) Marling of Lima; eight grandchildren: Catie Broecker, Kelly Schnipke, Scott Schnipke, Cody Schnipke, Christopher Broecker, Shawn Broecker, Nikki Burgei, and Jenny Burgei.
She was preceded in death by an infant son: Elwood Broecker; and an infant brother.
Rita was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings, the Ft. Jennings American Legion Auxiliary, the Ottoville VFW Auxiliary, and the St. Rita's Alumni Association. She was a graduate of the St. Rita's Nursing School, where she earned her degree as an RN. She spent many years at St. Rita's, Van Wert Hospital and finally at Cloverdale Paradise Oaks. She enjoyed playing cards, going on fishing trips with "Pats," gambling, taking care of those she loved, and especially enjoyed watching the grandkids and watching the grandkids athletics.
A Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ft. Jennings, with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Valeta G. Siebeneck
Valeta G. Siebeneck, 77, of Ottoville died at 11:52 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at VanCrest Nursing Home, Delphos. She was born April 1, 1938 in Delphos to the late Walter and Henrietta (Pohlman) Pothast. On August 1, 1959 she married Norman Siebeneck who survives in Ottoville.
Also surviving are three children: Dennis (Sue) Siebeneck of Ottawa, Lisa (Vern) Bockey of Delphos, and Brenda (Jeff) Duling of Glandorf; four grandchildren; one step grandchild; one step great-grandchild; one brother: Roger (Diane) Pothast of Delphos; and one sister: Sharon (Tom) Schroeder of Delphos. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Judy Kemper.
Valeta was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and its Altar Rosary and Catholic Ladies of Columbia Societies and was a communion distributor. She was also a member of the Master Gardeners.

Dolores A. Eickholt, 85, of Ottawa formerly of Ottoville, died 11:05 p.m., Thursday, October 29, 2015 at The Meadows of Kalida.
She was born January 25, 1930 in Ottoville to the late William and Philomena (Wehri) Dickman. On July 24, 1948, she married Vincent Eickholt. He died February 17, 1979.
Survivors include 8 children: Ronald (Brenda) Eickholt of Oak Harbor, Vincent "Doc" (Pam) Eickholt of Ottawa, Edwin Eickholt of Venedocia, Lois Eickholt of Ottawa, Anna (Mike) Dick of Montgomery, TX, Carol (Tom) Craig of Van Wert, Gerilyn Johnston of Ottawa and Teresa (Matt) Kropf of Plymouth; 21 grandchildren; numerous Great and Great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law: Barbara Dickman of Elsie, MI; and a brother-in-law: Arnie Kemper of Ottoville.
She was preceded in death by a son: William Eickholt; a grandson: Paul Eickholt; a great-grandson: Zachary Eickholt; 4 brothers: Hubert Dickman, Philip Dickman, Ferdinand Dickman, and Edmund Dickman; 5 sisters: Anna Dickman, Agnes Moeggenborg, Hildagard Schnipke, Alice Kemper and Irene Dickman; and special friend Jack Saloum.
Dolores retired after 16 1/2 years at the former Sylvania-Philips Display Components in Ottawa, where she was the first female supervisor and was a former teacher at St. John Elementary School, Delphos. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and Ottoville VFW Auxiliary. She attended first through eighth grade in Ottoville before going to and graduating from St. Louis High School, in St Louis MI. She then attended the Ohio State college in Lima before she went on to teach. She was a master gardener, loved bird watching and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township, as well as one hour prior to service Monday at the church.

Mary C. Looser
Mary Catherine "Sally" Looser, 87, of Ottoville died at 3:54 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born July 27, 1928 in Delphos to the late Alphons and Adeline (Wellman) Pohlman. On June 26, 1948 she married Bernard L. Looser who died February 21, 1997.
She is survived by four children: Virginia Coker of Bryan, Donald Looser and Larry (Jenn) Looser both of Middlepoint, and Gary (Dorothy) Looser of Paulding; 9 grandchildren: Bobby (Marilyn) Coker, Jeffery (Beckie) Coker, Michele (Steve) Coker, DJ (Sherri) Looser, Chris (Tom) Steffen, David (Cindy) Looser, Zach (Brittany) Looser, Nicole (Dan) Looser, and Kelly (Dusty) Hauter; 3 step grandchildren: TJ (Kelly) Moreno, Sarah (Troy) Schultz, and Joe (Robyn) Moreno; 33 great-grandchildren: Robert, Mathew, Anthony, Taylor, Ryan, Jackson, Kennedy, Blaine, Alexandra, Kyle, Adam, Ryan, Abigail, Drew, Michael, Rachel, Ella, Zachary, Noah, Elijah, Hannah, Nicolas, Alexander, Shawn, Caffrey, Haddie, Destiny, Braylen, Keegan, Eve, Sienna, Joe, and Leanna; a brother: Ronald (Joan) Pohlman of Ottawa; a sister: Rita (Norbert) Suever of Landeck; and four sisters-in-law: Rita Mae Pohlman of Delphos, Pat (Mel) Pohlman Williams of Lima, Imogene Ellerbrock of Ottawa, and Irma Meyer of Ft. Jennings. She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Melvin and Gilbert "Gip" Pohlman; three sisters: Dolores Meyer, Lucille Ellerbrock, and Jane Ricker; and three brothers-in-law: John Ricker, Bob Ellerbrock and Gene Meyer.
Sally worked at Millie's Cafe in Ottoville for over forty years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and it's Rosary Altar Society. Sally was also a member of the Delphos Eagles Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Ottoville VFW.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with the Very Reverend Jerome Schetter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
