John Keller
John Keller of Ottoville Buried
            John Keller was found dead in his bed Monday morning at ten o’clock by a neighbor, Martin Bendele. Mr. Keller had been in ill health for several years.
            He was born in Mercer County in 1871, the son of Adam and Mary Keller. Survivors include one brother and two sisters.
            Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Immaculate Conception Church, and burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Anna M. Hilvers
Death Calls Delphos Lady Late Tuesday
Pneumonia Causes Demise of Mrs. August Hilvers, Adams Street — Two Sons and One
Daughter Survive — Funeral to be Held Friday Morning at St. John's Church.
Mrs. Anna M. Hilvers, wife of August Hilvers, succumbed at her home at 108 Adams, street Tuesday, evening at 9:45 o'clock. She had been in failing health for the past two years. Her death followed a three-day serious illness caused by pneumonia.
Mrs. Hilvers was born in Ottoville, Ohio, on January 18, 1862, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Landwehr. On April 22, 18S5, she was united in marriage to August
Hilvers, of Ottoville, at the Immaculate Conception, church. Seven children were born to this union. Four-preceded their mother in death. They were: Aloysius, Joseph and Margaret, who died in: infancy, and Herman who passed away on November 14, 1930. Mrs. Hilvers was sixty-nine years and five days of age when her death occurred.
Surviving are her husband; three children: Henry, 201 East Fifth street; Mary, at home; and William, at home. There are six grandchildren.
Mrs. Hilvers was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart League.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's. Catholic Church Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock. Burial will be made at St. John's cemetery.

Balthasar Schurer
Mr. Schurer Passes Away
Funeral Services Held Wednesday Morning
            Baltas Schurer, 85, died at his home two miles west of Ottoville Sunday morning at 2:45, death bringing to a close a long and useful life and calling to his reward a well-known and highly respected citizen.
            Mr. Schurer was bedfast three weeks before his death, which attributed to the infirmities of old age. He was a native of Germany, coming to this country with his parents when he was nine years of age.
            His wife preceded him in death three years ago. One daughter Mrs. Anna Wannemacher, of Cloverdale succumbed four years ago.
            He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, and of St. Joseph’s Society. Mr. Schurer attended to his Church and home duties faithfully.
            Survivors are two sons, John and Joseph, and one daughter, Mrs. J. P. Studer, all of Ottoville, also ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
            Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at nine o’clock at Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Paul L. Brandehoff (Infant)

Infant Burried at Ottoville
Last rites for Paul Lavern, the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Brandehoff, of Ottoville, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Ottoville. Interment was made at St. Mary's cemetery at Ottoville.
The infant succumbed at St. Rita's Hospital in Lima Saturday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock. He was born Saturday morning at 11:15 o'clock.

Henrietta Brandehoff
Death Calls Young Lady
Mrs. LaVern Branehoff Services Tuesday
            Young resident of Ottoville died Friday evening at 7:15 o’clock when Mrs. Henrietta Brandehoff, wife of LaVern Brandehoff, succumbed at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima, where she was taken two weeks ago. She had been in ill health for the past three months and for the last month her illness was serious. Complications caused her death.
            Mrs. Brandehoff was born in Ottoville on June 16, 1910, the daughter of Paul and Louise Lehmkule. She graduated from Ottoville High School, class of 28’. On November 5, 1929, she was married to LaVern Brandehoff, of Ottoville at the Immaculate Conception Church.
            At the time of her death she was twenty years, nine months and four days of age. Her father, Paul Lehmkule, preceded her in death nine years ago and an infant son, Paul LaVern, died a week ago.
            Mrs. Brandehoff spent her entire life in Ottoville and her many friends will mourn to learn of her death.
            Surviving are her husband; her mother, Mrs. Louise Lehmkuhle, of Ottoville, three sisters, Alvera, Rita and Marie, all at home; her grandmother, Mrs. Anna Mittelkamp, of Ottoville; her grandfather, Henry Lehmkuhle, northeast of Ottoville.
            Funeral services were conducted at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville Tuesday morning at nine o’clock. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Bruno Binder
Binder Rites At Ottoville
Graduate of Cincinnati School of Pharmacy
            Bruno Binder, formerly a resident of Ottoville, passed away at Toledo, at Lincoln Ave, Tuesday morning of last week at 4 o’clock. He was seriously ill for the past two months. Complications caused his demise.
            Mr. Binder was born at Ottoville on May 28, 1893, the son of Dr. and Mrs. Albert Binder. He was a graduate of Ottoville High School, class of 1912, and several years later he graduated from the Cincinnati School of Pharmacy. He practiced pharmacy in Cincinnati for several years, later locating in Toledo.
            When death occurred, Mr. Binder was thirty-seven years, nine months and twenty-six days of age. The remains lay in state at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Schaefer at 1226 Lincoln Ave., Toledo, until Thursday afternoon at which time they were brought to the Max Winkelman home at Ottoville.
            Surviving are the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. William P. Schaefer, Miss Irma Binder, Gustav and Joseph all of Toledo; Hugo Binder, of Milwaukee, Wis.
            Funeral services were conducted at the Ottoville Immaculate Conception Church Friday morning at 9:30 o’clock. Rev. Fr. James S. Arnoldi was celebrant, Rev. Fr. Joseph Ludwig, of Lady Glenn, Ohio, Deacon, and Rev. Father Henry Gerwert, of Miller City, was sub-deacon, at the solemn requiem high mass. Rev. Father S. J. Eisel, of Ottoville, was master of ceremonies. Interment was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Frances (Zahner) Dehe
Dehe Rites At Ottoville
Member of the Immaculate Conception Church
            Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Dehe were held Wednesday morning at nine o’clock at the Immaculate Conception Church, and burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. She died at her home here late Sunday evening.
            She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, of the C. L. of C. Lodge, and the Alter Rosary Society. Her age at the time of her death was 56 years, 2 months and 6 days.
            She was born in New Washington, February 2, 1875, and was married to William Dehe of Norwalk on April 14, 1915. Mrs. Dehe had been in poor health two months prior to he demise.
            The deceased lady had conducted a millinery shop in Ottoville for the past twenty-five years, but closed in during the last year.
            She is survived by the husband and one daughter, Dorothy, of Ottoville. Other survivors include, three sisters and one brother; Mrs. Mary Meyer and Mars. Andrew Wannemacher, of Ottoville; Mrs. Charles Freund, of Norwalk; John Zahner, of Shelby.

Mary Beining
Mrs. Beining Passes Away
Services Friday Morning at Ottoville Church
            Mrs. Mary Beining passed away Tuesday morning at her home after being bedfast for a week. Death was due to infirmities of old age. Her maiden name was Miss Mary Dulmer, and she lived in this community almost her entire life.
            She was seventy-six years of age, a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, and of the Alter Rosary Society. Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at nine o’clock at the Immaculate Conception Church, and burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
            She is survived by her husband, Henry Beining, five sons and five daughters. The sons are, Joseph, Henry, Frank, Theodore and Oliver, all of Ottoville. The daughters are, Mrs. Catherine Deitering, Mrs. Anna Hoersten and Mrs. Rose Koester, of Ottoville; Mrs. Mary Schulte, of Kalida; Mrs. Elizabeth Moggenborg, of Shepherd, Michigan.
            Other survivors include sixty-three grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

Bertha Fresner
Mrs. Fresner Passes Away In Toledo
Heart Failure Immediate Cause of Death of Mrs. Carl Fresner, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Brabant, East Suthoff Street — Funeral Tuesday Afternoon at 1:30 O'Clock.
Funeral services for Mrs. Carl Fresner will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the John Brabant home on East Suthoff street. Interment will be made at
King's cemetery.
Mrs. Fresner passed away at a Toledo hospital Saturday afternoon Wednesday, she underwent a serious operation. Heart failure was the immediate cruise of her death.
Mss Bertha Brabant was born in Ottoville on August 28, 1898, the daughter of Mr. and, Mrs. John Brabant. Fifteen years ago, she was married to Carl Fresner, of Middle Point.
For some time she made her home in Middle Point and for the past five years, the Fresher family resided in Toledo. There were nine children born to this union. Two sons died in infancy. Mrs. Fresner was thirty-one years of age at the time of her death.
Surviving are: her husband; seven children, Madeline, at home; Esther, who makes her home with her grandparents here; Mary, John, Elmer, Richard and Louis, all at
home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Brabant, East Suthoff Street; three brother, Edward of Struthers; Sylvester of North Washigton Street; Henry near Sturgis, Mich.; Mrs. Iurene Pierce, North Franklin Street; and Mrs. Loretta Conwell, of Van Wert. A brother Joseph, of Struthers, Ohio, passed away two years ago, and a sister, Mrs. Matilda Beckner, of Delphos, died a year ago last January.
            The remains will be brought to Delphos Monday evening and will lie in state at the Brabant home until the time of the funeral.

Anna M. Utrup
Mrs. Anna Utrup Is Called
Services Were Conducted Thursday Morning
            Mrs. Joseph Utrup, Sr., succumbed at her home two miles south of Ottoville Monday morning at 7:30 o’clock. She suffered a paralytic stroke a week ago.     
            Mrs. Anna M. Fuerst was born in Bavaria, Germany, on January 10, 1850, the daughter of Conrad and Barbara Fuerst. She came to this country when she was fifteen years of age. In 1868, she was married to Joseph Utrup at Ottoville. Mr. Utrup preceded his wife in death on August 19, 1902. There were eleven children.
            When death occurred, Mrs. Utrup was eighty-one years, four months and twenty-one days of age. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church at Ottoville.
            Surviving are seven children, Gerhard Utrup, of near Ottoville; Henry and Joseph Utrup, Jr., of near Delphos; Mrs. William Frisch, of Kirby, Ohio; Frank Utrup, of Columbus Grove; Mrs. Joseph Heising, of near Ottoville; Paul Utrup, at home; a grandson, Theodore B. Lauf, has made his home with his grandmother since infancy. There are twenty-seven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren.
            Two daughters and two sons preceded their mother in death. Mrs. Elizabeth Lauf died January 24, 1906 and Mrs. Mary Klima died December 28, 1909; William Utrup was called by death on November 25, 1909 and Paul Utrup died in infancy.
            Funeral services for Mrs. Utrup were conducted Thursday morning at 9 o’clock at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Henry D. Wurst
Father of Local People Passes Away
Henry D. Wurst Succumbs at Toledo Hospital Wednesday Morning — Widow, Eight Daughters and Two Sons Survive — Services at Immaculate Conception Church at Ottoville Saturday Morning
Funeral services for Henry D. Wurst, of Ottoville, will be conducted Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville. Interment will tie made at St. Mary's cemetery.
Mr. Wurst passed away at a Toledo hospital Wednesday morning, at 2 o'clock. He had been seriously ill for the past two weeks and was in failing health for two years past. His death resulted from a stroke.
Mr. Wurst was born on May 14, 1863, at Ottoville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wurst. On May 14, 1888, he was united in marriage to Miss Frances Kais, of Germany, they first resided in Grand Rapids, Michigan, later on a farm near Ottoville and twelve years ago they moved to a home in Ottoville. When death occurred Mr. Wurst was sixty-eight years, one month and twenty-four days of age.
Surviving are his widow; eight daughters, Mrs. Joseph Schwertner, of Ottoville; Mrs. Paul Stallkamp, West First street; Mrs. John Klausing and Mrs. Leo German, of near Delphos; Mrs. Alex Klausing, of Van Wert; Mrs. Huley Reau, of Erie, Michigan; Mrs. Clarence Wessell, of Dayton; and Miss Anne Wurst, of Toledo; two sons, Frank Wurst, of Ottoville; and Ed. Wurst, of North Moennig street, Delphos; and twenty-three
grandchildren. There are two sisters, Mrs. William Miller and Mrs. Minnie Miller, of Toledo, and three brothers, Andrew and Louis of Ottoville, and Charles, of Lima. One
brother, William, died a number of years ago. Three sons preceded their father in death. Rudolph died on October 28, 1928, Louis on November 11, 1920 and Theodore in infancy.

George Hedrick
G. S. Hedrick Is Summoned
Funeral Services Held Saturday Morning
            George S. Hedrick, aged and well known resident of near Ottoville, passed away at his home four miles northwest of Ottoville Thursday of last week at 12:15 o’clock. He had been in ill health for two years past and his condition was serious for the past two weeks. His death was due to complications.
            Mr. Hedrick was born in Ottoville on February 28, 1852, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hedrick. In May 1873, he was married to Miss Clara Bohan at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville. Mrs. Hedrick preceded her husband in death seven years ago.
            When his death occurred, Mr. Hedrick was seventy-nine years, five months and thirteen days of age.
            Left to mourn his death, are seven children; Fred, of Kalida; Mrs. Mary George, of Detroit; Louis, of Ft. Jennings; Mrs. Mathilda Barnes, of Rushmore; George, at home; Mrs. C. C. Halsted, of Detroit; and Edward, of Lima; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Kimmerle died three years ago.
             Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at three o’clock at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
            Due to the fact that Saturday was a holy day there was no requiem high mass. However a requiem high mass was intoned at the Immaculate Conception Church.

Funeral Services For Mrs. Utrup
            Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Utrup were held Monday morning in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville. The pastor, Rev. J. B. Arnoldi, was in charge, and burial was made in the St. Joseph Cemetery at Ft. Jennings.
            The following people from this vicinity attended the services; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hermiller, Sr., and son Edward; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hermiller, Jr., and family; Mrs. Emma Kahle and children; Mrs. W. C. Fritz and Mrs. Elizabeth Ingleright; Mrs. and Mrs. John Leopold, and a niece of Barney Utrup.

Amelia R. Miller
Mrs. Miller Is Summoned
Young Ottoville Mother Called At Hospital
            Mrs. Amelia Miller, wife of Joseph Miller, of Ottoville, died at St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima Thursday evening of last week at 10:15 o’clock. She had been in ill health for six months previous to her death.
            Her death resulted from complications following an operation which she underwent at the hospital Wednesday afternoon. She was 31 years, 1 month and ten days of age at the time of her death.
            Mrs. Miller was born near Cloverdale on August 6, 1900, the daughter of William and Anna Dickman. On May 29, 1923, she was married to Joseph Miller of Ottoville.
            She was a faithful member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville and of the Alter Rosary Society. The Miller home is located four miles north of Ottoville.
            Surviving are the husband; two children, Dorothy and Jerome; five brothers, Henry Dickman, of Avis; Joseph, Bernard, William and Anthony Dickman, of near Ottoville; three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Heitmeyer, of north of Ottoville; Mrs. Theresa Maas, of Avis; Mary Moggenborg of Shepherd, Michigan. One son Cletus, preceded his mother in death one year ago.
            Funeral services were held Monday morning at nine o’clock at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville, with the pastor, Rev. Father J. S. Arnoldi, officiating. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

George Miehls
George Miehls Passes Away at Ottoville
Funeral Services Monday at Catholic Church
Prominent Citizen
Rendered Public Service In Various Ways
            A prominent resident of Ottoville passed away Friday morning at 5:10 o’clock when George Miehls, Sr., succumbed at his home. Mr. Miehls suffered a stroke two years ago and since that time had been bedfast.
            Mr. Miehls was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., on November 11, 1848, the son of George and Mary Miehls. He was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Keifer on May 31, 1881 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville. For nine years after their marriage, they made their home at Douglas, Ohio, and conducted a general store at that place.
            Later, they moved to a farm one half mile east of Ottoville and resided their for twenty-one years. Mr. Miehls served as a clerk for Jackson Township. In 1911, the Miehls family moved to Ottoville. Mr. Miehls also was a clerk for Monterey Township.
            He was secretary of the Ottoville Loan and Savings Company for a period of fifteen years. He was a member of the K. of C. and of the Immaculate Conception Church at Ottoville.
            Mr. and Mrs. Miehls celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on May 31, 1931. At the time of his death Mr. Miehls was eighty-two years, ten months and seven days of age.
            Left to mourn his death are; his widow; three sons, Edward, of Lima; George Jr., of Detroit; and Valentine, of New York; four daughters, Mrs. Stephen Looser, of Ottoville; Mrs. Andrew Eickholt, of near Ottoville; Mrs. Henry Perrin, of Toledo; Sister Mary Boniface; of Fremont; four brothers, Joseph and B. A., both of Ft. Jennings; Frank, of Coldwater; and Albert, of Maumee; four sisters, Mrs. Henry Rower, of near Kalida; Mrs. Elvin Rower, of Toledo; Mrs. Barbara Karhoff, of Glandorf; Sister Mary Sancta, of Shelby, Ohio; and fifteen grandchildren.
            Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at 9 o’clock at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville and burial was made at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Berheide Dies Suddenly Early Friday
Apoplexy Causes Death of Mrs. Amelia Berheide, Wife of Frank Berheide - Death Occurs at Home Northeast of Delphos - Is Survived by Husband, Two Brothers, Five Sisters - Funeral Monday Morning.
            Mrs. Amelia Berheide, wife of Frank Berheide, succumbed suddenly at her home northeast of Delphos Friday morning at about 5:30 o'clock. A stroke of apoplexy caused her death. Mrs. Berheide was well known in Delphos as she lived here for a number of years preceding her marriage.
            Miss Amelia Honingford was born at Ottoville on September 29, 1889, the daughter of Henry and Agnes Honingford. On November 27, 1923, she was married to Frank Berheide, of near Delphos, at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Ft. Jennings. Two daughters were born to this union, both dying in infancy.
            At the time of her death, Mrs. Berheide was forty-two years of age. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church at Ft. Jennings, of the Alter-Rosary Society, the C. L. of C. and the Sacred Heart League.
            Surviving are her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Honingford, of East Third street; two brothers, Alphonse, of Lima; and Leander, East Eighth street; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Brandehoff, East Third street; Mrs. George Wunderle, of Cleveland; Mrs. Elmer Stettler, East Third street; Mrs. Fred Hurry, of near Van Wert; and Mrs. George Rode, North Main street.
            Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Jennings Monday morning at 9 o'clock. Internment will be made at St. Joseph's cemetery.

William C. Burgei
William Burgei Is Summoned
Services Held Thursday at Ottoville Church
            A prominent resident of Ottoville succumbed at his home Tuesday morning when William Burgei died suddenly at 12:15 a.m. Mr. Burgei had been in apparently good health and his death comes a great shock to his family and friends. Cerebral Thrombosis caused his death.
            Mr. Burgei was born in New Alsace, Indiana, on October 10, 1861, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Burgei. Forty-three years ago he was married at Ottoville to Miss Margaret Studer, of New Washington, Ohio. Twelve children were born to this union. One daughter, Mary, preceded her father in death at the age of six years.
            Until about nine years ago, Mr. Burgei and his family resided on a farm one mile south of Ottoville. When his death occurred, he was seventy years and three days of age. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and of the St. Joseph Society.
            Left to mourn his death are: his widow; eleven children, Charles, Michael and Joseph, of Cloverdale; Mrs. Frank Gasser, of Ottoville; Sister Mary Pulcheria, C.PP.S., Norwood, Ohio; Sister Mary Felicitas, C. PP.S., Plainfield Pike, Deer Park, Ohio; Mrs. Adolph Rahrig, of Landeck; Jacob, of Ottoville; Mrs. Sylvester Hugel, of Landeck; and William, Jr., on the home farm.
            Three sisters also survive. They are, Mrs. John J. Stadtmiller, of Barberton, Ohio; Mrs. Martin Bittner, of Sunman, Indiana; and Miss Carrie Burgei, also of Barberton.
            Funeral services were conducted at the Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville Thursday morning at nine o’clock. Burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
