Ottoville Man Died Recently In Montana
Lambert A.
Studer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Studer, of Ottoville, died at Townsend,
Mont., February 5. He was born in New Washington, Ohio, Crawford, County, on
December 1, 1888. When he was six years old the family moved to Ottoville. He
became a traveling salesman for the International Harvester Co., and went to
Townsend, Mont.
On October
6, 1912, he married Margie Kohls, daughter of J. J. Kohls, of Ottawa. Three
children were born to this union, John Kohls, Lambert Jr. and Thomas A.
He was
taken ill on New Years day and had a relapse and he passed away on February 5,
bronchial pneumonia causing his death. J. J. Kohls and son, Albert with Jacob
Studer left for Townsend, Mont., on Wednesday and returned to Ottawa the
following Tuesday afternoon where the burial took place the same day. Mrs.
Lambert Studer and children accompanied the remains to Ottawa. He leaves to
mourn his death, his wife and children; three brothers, Jacob, of Ottoville;
William, of Delphos; and Louis, of Mald, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Alfred Iller,
of St. Maries, Idaho. He was a member of the C. K. of O. and also the K. of C.

Maria P. Schille
Ottoville Lady Died Monday At Columbus
The body of
Mrs. Marie Schille, who died at Columbus, February 10, was brought here Tuesday
afternoon. It was taken to Ottoville, where Mrs. Schille formerly resided.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ottoville church and interment made
there. Mrs. Schille was 52 years of age at the time of her death.

Paul Lehmkuhle Of Ottoville Died Friday
Paul
Lehmkuhle died at his home in Ottoville, at one-thirty o’clock Friday morning
after a three month’s illness. He was stricken with influenza and this later
developed into tuberculosis. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at
nine o’clock at the Immaculate Conception Church at Ottoville, and interment
will be made in the Catholic Cemetery there.
Mr.
Lehmkuhle was born at Ft. Jennings on February 14, 1886. He was married on
August 4, 1909. He was a member of the firm Miller, Lehmkule and Weber of
Ottoville up to last spring when the business was discontinued. He was also a
member of the C. K. of O. and the St. Joseph’s Society of the Ottoville Church.
He leaves
to mourn his loss, his wife and four children, Henrietta, 8, Alvera, 6, Rita,
3, and Marie, three months old; his father, Henry Lehmkuhle; two sisters, Mrs.
Will Bendele, of Shepherd, Mich.; and John Lehmkuhle, also of Shepherd, Mich.

Mary Perrin
Aged Lady Dies While Visiting Son
Mrs. Mary
Perrin, 71, died at the home of Andrew Perrin, in Grand Rapids, Wednesday
morning from an attack of peritonitis, which she contracted about eight days
ago.
Mrs. Perrin, who had made her home
with her daughter, Mrs. Conrad Allemeier, of near Delphos, went to Grand Rapids
to visit her son about three weeks ago and took sick while there.
The body was sent to this place
arriving Thursday and funeral services will be conducted at Ottoville at 9
o’clock Saturday morning and interment will be made there.
Mrs. Perrin is survived by ten
children; 42 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; also four brothers and
two sisters. The children’s name are; Joseph Perrin, who lives in Canada; Mike
Perrin, of St. Paul, Minn.; Andrew, Louis and John Perrin, and Mrs. Bertha
Kromer, all of who reside in Grand Rapids; Mrs. Louis Frederick, of Celina;
Mrs. Mary Krey, of Hampshire, Ill.; Mrs. Clara Wannemacher, of Toledo; and Mrs.
Conrad Allemeier, of near Delphos. Mrs. Perrin, who had lived her entire life
in this vicinity, leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn their loss.

Resident Of Ottoville Died At Hospital
Joseph
Pittner, of Ottoville, died Saturday morning at Mercy Hospital, Toledo, of
pneumonia. He was born at Pilsen, Bohemia, on September 26, 1862 and came to
America at the age of two years with his parents, who located at Ottoville. He
was married to Elizabeth Schaefer, of Detroit, Mich., in 1889.
Mrs.
Pittner was summoned to the bedside of her husband Thursday and was with him at
the time of his death. Mr. Pittner was employed as a machinist at the Toledo
Scale Company.
The remains
were brought to Ottoville Sunday morning and funeral services were held Tuesday
morning at nine o’clock at the Catholic Church. Interment was made in St.
Mary’s Cemetery.
He leaves
his wife, three daughters, Mrs. O. C. Sawmiller, of Delphos; Mrs. Michael
Birgle, of Cloverdale; Miss Otilla, at home; one son, William, of Erie, Pa.;
two brothers, John, of Ottoville; Morton, of Scottville, Mich.; two sisters,
Mrs. Mary Zimmerman, of Gainsville, Tenn.; and Mrs. George Steffel, of
Defiance.

William Schmersal
William Schmersal Formerly Of Ottoville, Dead
William
Schmersal, known to many Delphos people and those living in the vicinity of
Ottoville, died at Chicago, and John Schmersal, of Lima, a brother of the
deceased, left Saturday morning for Chicago to accompany the remains to this
city. From here, the body will be taken to Ottoville, where the funeral
services will be held. Mr. Schmersal was formerly a resident of Ottoville.
The remains
are expected to arrive her Sunday.

Mr. Mandery Passed Away At Age Of 92
Death Occurred At One Forty-Five Tuesday Morning Of
Infirmities Of Old Age – Was Born In Germany – Death Occurred At Home Of His
Son
Death
claimed an aged man early Tuesday morning, when Mr. Thomas Mandery, aged
ninety-two, answered his final summons. His demise was due to infirmities of
his advanced age and he has been helpless for two or three months.
Mr. Mandery
was born in Germany and his marriage to Miss Mary Schaffer occurred there. Mr.
and Mrs. Mandery came to this country and settled in Cincinnati soon after
landing. They also lived in Ottoville for many years and later returned to
Cincinnati. They again took up their residence at Ottoville and about two years
ago Mr. Mandery came to Delphos and has resided with his son, Charles Mandery,
of East Third Street. Mrs. Mandery died four years ago.
Surviving
are four children, Charles and Henry, of Delphos; Mrs. Mary Schneeg, of
Ottoville; and Mrs. Julia Fischbach. Five children are deceased.
Mr. Mandery
was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and funeral services will be
conducted at the Catholic Church at Ottoville, Friday morning. Interment will
be made in the Catholic Cemetery there.

Miss Mertes Dies Sunday At Ottoville
Niece Of Father Mertes Dies At Perochial Residence In
Ottoville After Long Illness – Funeral Thursday Morning At Nine O’Clock
Miss Helen
Mertes, niece of Rev. Father Mertes, of Ottoville, and well known to many
Delphos people, died at the Ottoville Parochial residence Sunday afternoon at
four o’clock. Cancer was the cause of death and she had been ill about ten
months. She underwent a surgical operation last spring at St. Vincent’s
Hospital in Toledo and never fully recovered.
Miss Mertes
was born in Luxembourg on September 18, 1868 and was aged fifty-one years, one
month and twenty-one days at the time of her death.
She had
been in Ottoville for the past nineteen years as housekeeper for her uncle,
Rev. J. B. Mertes, and had often visited friends in this city. Rev. Mertes is
the only near relative of the deceased in this country.
Funeral
services will be held on Thursday morning, November 13, at nine o’clock at St.
Mary’s Church at Ottoville. Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery at that
place.

Death calls J. W. Rekart OF Ottoville
Lifelong Resident Of Vicinity Dies After Illness Of
Several Weeks – Funeral To be Held At Ottoville Catholic Church Friday Morning
On Monday
afternoon at 2:30 death claimed one of the most prominent Ottoville citizens J.
W. Rekart. Mr. Rekart had been in poor health for several weeks and although
nothing was left undone to restore him to his former health, he began to sink
rapidly and thus his death was not entirely unexpected.
Joseph W.
Rekart was born at Ottoville on November 19, 1851. He spent his entire life
about Ottoville and vicinity, on his farm about one-half mile east of
Ottoville, until about three years ago when he retired and moved his family to
town.
He was
married to Josephine Sellet, in October of 1874, at Ottoville. Their union was
blessed with ten children; Will, Edward, Frank, Mrs. Joe Wurst and Miss Anna,
of Ottoville; Mrs. Al Weisenberger, Mrs. Al Fournier and Miss Olive, of Toledo;
Sr. M. Josepha, of St. Angelus Institute, at Caroll, Wis. The oldest son
Charles, preceded his father in death about three years ago.
He also
leaves to mourn his wife and two brothers, George, of Cincinnati; and Henry and
a sister Mrs. Max Winkelman, of Ottoville.
Mrs. Rekart
and family have the sympathy of our entire community in their sad bereavement.
Funeral
services were held from the Immaculate Conception Church Friday morning at 9
o’clock, with interment in the Catholic cemetery here.
