Paul L. Turnwald
Paul L.
(Duke) Turnwald, 50, route 1, Cloverdale, was buried today following 10:30
services at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Mr. Turnwald died
2:45 a.m. Sunday at his home following an extended illness.
He was born
November 12, 1929, in Landeck, the son of Edward and Tharsilla (Frederick)
Turnwald. His parents survive in Ottoville. On July 11, 1953, he married the
former Martha Doepker, who also survives.
Mr.
Turnwald was an employee of Ford Motor Co. and a farmer. He was a member of
Immaculate Conception Church in Ottoville and its Holy Name Society, Kalida
Knights of Columbus and Ottoville Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the U.
S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors
include three daughters, Mrs. John (Rosemary) Vorst, Kalida and Mrs. Kenneth
(Carol) Markward and Mrs. Gary (Joyce) Byrne, both of Ottoville; three sons,
Roger, Chuck and Tim all at home; four brothers, Gilbert and Gerald, both of
Shepherd, Mich., and Arthur and Donald, of Cloverdale; and two sisters, Mrs.
Leo (Mary) Moeggenborg, Shepherd, Mich, and Mrs. Norma (Theresa) Becker,
Cloverdale.
Father
Gerald Stein officiated at the funeral and burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery,
Ottoville. A graveside military service was conducted by the Ottoville VFW.

Leo C. Kortokrax
Leo C.
(Dutch) Kortokrax, 77, of Delphos, died at 5:10 a.m.Saturday in St. Rita’s
Medical Center, Lima.
He was
buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville Tuesday, following a 10:30 a.m. mass
at the Immaculate Conception Church there. Father Roger Bonifas officiated at
the mass and burial.
Mr.
Kortokrax was born November 14, 1902, in Ottoville, the son of Otto and
Caroline (Wank) Kortokrax. He married Luella Martin August 26, 1931, and she
survives.
Other
survivors include two sons, Richard, Kalida and Gerald, Delphos; two daughters,
Mrs. Jacob (Marianne) Schimmoeller, Ft. Jennings, and Mrs. Arch (Unalee) Kious,
Ottoville; a sister, Mrs. Estelle Bomp, Chicago; and 19 grandchildren.
Mr.
Kortokrax was a retired farmer and retired clerk of Monterey Township. He had
been a clerk for 34 years. He was also a former member of the Ottoville School
Board and a member of the St. Mary’s Credit Union.

Gertrude S. Eickholt
Gertrude S.
Eickholt, 95, route 3, Delphos, died at 2:45 a.m. Monday in St. Rita’s Medical
Center, Lima.
She was
born September 5, 1884, to George and Margaret (Keiffer) Miehls. She married
Andy Eickholt February 15, 1911 in Ottoville, and he died January 4, 1960.
Surviving
are two sons, Kenneth G., Delphos and Ralph D., Wilmar, Minn.; a daughter, and
one granddaughter. Three brothers and three sisters are deceased.
Mrs.
Eickholt was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville,
where a Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Roger Bonifas
will officiate and burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.
Friends may
call from 2-4 and 7-9 today, Wednesday, at the Helmkamp-Brickner Funeral Home,
Ottoville, where the parish wake service will be at eight o’clock tonight.

Shirley A. Deitering
Shirley A,
Deitering, 28, Ft. Jennings, died Thursday evening at her residence of a
gunshot wound to the head. The gunshot wound was self-inflicted, according to
Putnam County Coroner Dr. James Overmeier.
She was
born December 10, 1951, the daughter of Eugene M. and Hilda LaFountain Carroll.
Her father survives in Continental. On February 8, 1975, she married James
Deitering, who survives here.
Mrs.
Deitering was an employee of the Gressel Produce Co., Delphos. She was a member
of the Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville, and the church Alter-Rosary
Society.
Survivors
include a son, Scott C. Deitering, at home; a brother Dennis Carroll, Napoleon;
and a sister Mrs. Dennis (Mary) Michel, Ottawa.
Funeral
services were held at 10:30 Saturday at Immaculate Conception church,
officiated by Rev. Roger Bonifas. She was buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery,
Ottoville.

Philomena A. Brickner
Funeral
services were held Saturday for Philomena A. Brickner, 67, Ottoville, in
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Father Roger Bonifas officiated at the
service and burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Mrs.
Brickner died at 11:21 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rita’s Medical Center following a
brief illness.
She was
born February 4, 1913, in Glandorf, the daughter of Charles and Catherine
(Siefker) Warnecke. On May 21, 1931, she married John J. Brickner, who died
March 6, 1958.
Mrs.
Brickner was retired a Watkins dealer. She was a member of the Immaculate
Conception Church and its Alter-Rosary Society.
Survivors
include five daughters, Sister Catherine (Mary Lucinda) C.PP. S., of Dayton,
Mrs. Gerald (Lauretta) Kroeger, Landeck, Mrs. Arnold (Doris) Ricker, Mrs. Otto
(Rose) Wenzlick, and Mrs. Gerald (Caroline) Schimmoeller, all of Ottoville;
five sons, Walter, and Ralph of Ottoville, Clifford, Delphos, Steven, Columbus
Grove, and John, Warsaw, Ind.; 34 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and
two sisters, Lauretta Schroeder, Leipsic, and Mrs. Richard (Marie) Gladen, St.
Louis, Mo.

Edward H. Honigfort
OTTAWA -
Edward H. Honigford , 84, of Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa, died at 4:50
p.m. Friday in Lima Memorial Hospital.
He was born
March 20, 1896, in Ottoville, a son of Barney and Mary (Bohn) Honigford.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Preceding
him in death were four brothers, Frank, Oliver, George, and William Honigford,
and three sisters, Clara Honigford, Rosie Brinkman and Bernadine Schimmoeller.
Mr.
Honigford was a retired farmer. He was a member of the American Legion,
Continental, St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Cloverdale, and he was a U. S. Army
veteran of World War I.
Mass of the
Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the church with the Rev. Herman
Scherger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may
call after 2 p.m. Sunday in Helmkamp - Brickner Funeral Home, Ottoville, where
a Parish Wake Service will be at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Orvin J. Gulker
Orvin John
Gulker, 60, Chula Vista, Calif., died suddenly of a heart attack April 14 on
the Chula Vista Golf Course.
Born March
25, 1920, in Ottoville, he was the son of William H. and Elizabeth (Weber)
Gulker. He married Pauline Preble of Lima and she died December 27, 1975. He
later married Evelyn Kriger, Perrysburg, and she survives.
Also
surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Joseph (Marie) Malmede, Nashville, Tenn.,
Mrs. Thomas (Alice) Wiley, Delphos, and Mrs. A. H. (Arlene) Nickey, Bowling
Green.
He was a
veteran of World War II.
Burial was
April 25 in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima

Edward J. Wannemacher
Edward J.
Wannemacher, 71, Ottoville, died at 11:45 a.m. Sunday in his home following an
extended illness.
He was born
August 7, 1908, in Ottoville, to Lewis and Mayme (Schneider) Wannemacher. On
December 15, 1934, he married Helen Heckman in Richmond, Ind., and she
survives.
Other
survivors are a son, Joseph L., Ottoville; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth
(Joanne)Wrasman, Landeck; eight grandchildren; a brother Cletus J. Wannemacher,
Dayton. Two brothers Marvin and Frederick, are deceased.
Mr.
Wannemacher was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Dayton, and was a
member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. He is a retired
chief guard of Fruehauf Corp., Delphos.
Rev. Gerald
Stein officiated the Mass of Resurrection 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, in the
church. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery

Adeline E. Wannemacher
Adeline E.
Wannemacher, 85, route 2, Ft. Jennings, died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at St.
Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. Funeral services were held 10:30 Saturday
morning at the Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville. She was buried in the
church cemetery. Father Roger Bonifas officiated at the service and burial.
She was
born on December 22, 1894 to Edward and Ann (Schwertner) Bauman. She married
Walter G. Wannemacher, October 18, 1916 in Ottoville and he died August, 1966.
She is
survived by a son, Ray Wannemacher, Ottoville; one daughter, Mrs. Arnold
(Mildred) Luerman, Delphos; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was a
member of the Immaculate Conception Church and the Alter-Rosary Society of the
church.

Henry J. Kemper
Henry J.
Kemper, 58, Ottoville, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday at his home.
He was born
June 22, 1921, in Ottoville to Herman and Theresia (Ricker) Kemper. He married
Mary Catherine Wiechart on July 28, 1951, in Ft. Jennings, and she survives.
Also
surviving are two sons, Joe, Ottoville and Dave at home; seven daughters, Mrs.
Paul (Jan) Schmersal, Ottoville, Mrs. Roger (Patty) Romes, Ottawa, Mrs. Larry
(Rita) Kreinbrink, Mrs. David (Marcia) Herring, both of Leipsic, Mrs. Thomas
(Diane) Verhoff, Kalida, and Karen and Beth at home; four grandchildren; six
sisters, Mrs. Alex (Frances) Muzechuck, and Mrs. Amelia Burby, Dayton, Mrs.
Carl (Bert) Gasser and Mrs. Donald (Agnes) Ostendorf, Ft. Jennings, Mrs. Robert
(Lucille) Lammers, New Cleveland, and Mrs. James (Theresa) Kramer, of
Ottoville; five brothers, Arnold, John, Joseph and Isadore, all of Ottoville,
and Lawrence of Delphos. Two brothers are deceased.
Mr. Kemper
was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, the
Ottoville VFW and the Holy Name Society.
Visitation
is underway at the Helmkamp-Brickner Funeral Home, Ottoville. The parish wake
service will be at eight o’clock tonight, Wednesday.
Father
Roger Bonifas will officiate the funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the
church. The Ottoville VFW will conduct graveside military rites.

Mary C. Schneeg
Funeral
services for Mary Catherine Schneeg, 62, Ottoville, were held at 11:00 o’clock
Wednesday morning at the Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville. Father Roger
Bonifas officiated at the mass and burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Mrs.
Schneeg died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at University Hospital, Ann Horbor, Michigan.
She was
born September 11, 1917, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Grosh. She
married Lawrence Schneeg in 1957 in Ft. Wayne and he survives.
Also
surviving is a brother, Gerald Grosh, Ft. Wayne; and two sisters, Eleanor
Richey, Peru, Ind., and Anna-belle Walsh, Michigan.
Mrs.
Schneeg was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the
Alter-Rosary Society of the church

Services

Ottoville for Albert Leonard Miller, 83, Ottoville. Father Roger Bonifas
officiated at the mass and burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Mr. Miller
died at 11:02 a.m. Friday, in St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
He was born
October 12, 1896, in Ottoville to Michael and Elizabeth (Eickholt) Miller.
Survivors
include a brother, Victor, Cloverdale; and three sisters, Rosa, Ottoville, Mrs.
Anthony (Emme) Dibling, Carey, and Mrs. John (Gertrude) Schwab, Deshler.

Jerome F. Bonifas
Jerome F.
Bonifas, 57, route 1, Cloverdale, died at 9:10 p.m. Monday at St. Rita’s
Medical Center emergency room of an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Bonifas
was born in Landeck on February 23, 1923, to Albert and Mary Catherine (Ricker)
Bonifas. Both survive in Landeck.
He married
Ann Hoehn in Ottoville on August 30, 1950, and she also survives along with
four sons, Paul, Kalida, Thomas, Columbus Grove, Donald and Robert both at
home; five daughters, Mrs. Dave (Jane) Kahle, Kalida, Mrs. James (Martha)
Miller, Delphos, Mrs. Virgil (Patricia) Schroeder, Ottawa, and Doris and Sharon
both at home; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Arthur, Delphos, Richard and
Albert, both of Landeck, and John Ossinke, Mich.; and a sister, Mrs. Elmer
(Dorothy) Hoffman, Delphos. Two brothers, Norbert and Aloysius, are deceased.
Mr. Bonifas
served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was employed at GTE Sylvania
in Ottawa and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in
Ottoville.
Mass of
Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. Roger
Bonifas officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Ottoville. Parish
wake service will be in the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Ottoville at 8
p.m. tonight.

Wannemacher, 64, Ottoville, died suddenly ay Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 this morning in the Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church, Ottoville. Father Gerald Stein officiated. He was buried in
the church cemetery.
He was born
October 16, 1916, in Ottoville to Urban and Fannie (Reckart) Wannemacher, he
was married on February 15, 1969, to Marie Odenweller, who survives.
Also
surviving is one son, Kim Wannemacher, Wapakoneta; three step-daughters, Mrs.
Richard (Joyce) Feathers, Delphos, Mrs. George (Janice) Kimmet, Ottoville, Mrs.
Gary (Cathy) Hemker, Delphos; four step-sons, Philip Odenweller, Delphos,
Thomas Odenweller, Middle Point, Edward Odenweller, Delphos, Donald Odenweller,
at home; 19 grandchildren; two brothers, Maurice and Jack of Ottoville; and one
sister, Mrs. Edmund (Connie) Osting, Ft. Jennings.
Mr. Wannemacher
was an Army Veteran of World War II and a retired employee of Ford Motor
Company. He was a member of the immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville, the
Ottoville VFW, the Holy Name Society of the church and the Lima Elks.

Ulrich, 78, Ottoville, died at 10:25 p.m. last Tuesday at St. Rita’s Medical
Center, following an extended illness. He was buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery,
Ottoville, Friday, following a 1 p.m. service in the Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church, Ottoville, Father Roger Bonifas officiated.
He was born
in Austria, December 22, 1901, the son of William and Anna (Yeager) Ulrich. He
married Martha Schlagbaum who survives.
Mr. Ulrich
was a retired commercial photographer in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
Survivors
include a son, Richard, Knoxville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and a brother, William, Delphos.

Robert M. Wannemacher
Robert M.
Wannemacher, 77, route 2, Ft. Jennings, died at 3 p.m. Saturday morning in St.
Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in
the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Father Roger Bonifas
officiated. He was buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.
He was born
July 7, 1903, in Ottoville, the son of Henry and Emma (Kalt) Wannemacher. He
married Jeanne Aseltine July 22, 1929, and she survives.
Other
survivors include a son, Don Wannemacher, rural Delphos; a daughter, Mrs.
Ernest (Dollie) Wolke, Delphos; three brothers, Ralph, Wauseon, Edwin, route 2,
Ft. Jennings, and Otmer, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; Gertie Lauer, Detroit; and Permilla
Ricker, Lima; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr.
Wannemacher was retired farmer and an insurance agent for Grange Mutual.
He was a
member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and the Holy
Name Society and was past president of the Ottoville School Board and the
Ottoville Lions Club.
