Odelia Horstman
Odelia Horstman, 84, Cloverdale died at 2:35 p.m. Thursday at St. Rita's
Medical Center.
She was born April 3, l898, in Paulding County, the daughter of Henry and
Rose (Brandehoff) Koetter. On November 19,
1919, she married Earnest Koester, who died in 1945. In 1952 she married Herman Horstman, who
died in 1981.
Mrs. Horstman was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Cloverdale.
Survivors include two sons, Maynard
Koester and Robert Koester, Delphos: a daughter, Mrs. Bill (Sally) Altenburger,
Ottoville: two stepsons: Art Horstman, Cloverdale, Al Horstman, Lima; two
stepdaughters, Mrs. Jack (Luella) Schroeder, Leipsic; Mrs. Ed (Leonarda) Kuhlman, Cloverdale; 19 grandchildren: 17 great-grandchildren: and two
sisters, Veronica Beining and Alma Bedink, Ottoville.
Mass of Christian burial was at l0 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception
Catholic Church, Ottoville. Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated and burial was in St. John's Cemetery, Delphos.

Ida Martin
Ida M. Martin, 81, Ottoville, died at 2:04 a.m. Friday at St. Rita's Medical
Center. Lima.
She was born May 23, 190l, in Fort Jennings, the daughter of Frank
and Helena (Bendele) Wieging. On April 12, 1921. She married Arnold F. Martin, who died April 31.1955.
Mrs. Martin was a member of
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Its
Altar and Rosary Society. Ottoville Catholic Ladies of Columbia:
Ottoville Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary
and the Ottoville Senior Citizens.
Survivors include three sons, Leroy
(Pep) and James both of Ottoville Bob, Landeck: three daughters, Mrs. Jerome
(Velma) Altenburger, Bernice Rieger, and Mrs. Ronald (Joan) Wessell all of
Ottoville; 23 grandchildren:
18.great-grandchildren; two brothers.
Albert Wieging and Vincent Wieging, both of Rockford, Mich.; and five sisters.
Irma Wannemacher, Defiance; Mrs.
Carl (Rose) Kortier and Helen Schmenk, Leesburg, Fla.; Mrs. Tony (Fredona)
Klima, Ottawa, and Mrs. Victor (Leona) Hoehn, Fort Jennings.
Funeral services were held at 11:30
a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception
Church, Ottoville, the Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's
Cemetery. Ottoville.

Ashley M. Klima
Ashley Marie Klima, nine months,
died at 1215 p.m. Friday at
Toledo
Hospital.
She was born in Lima on April 30, 1982, the daughter of Robert and
Saundra (Horstman) Klima. Her father and mother survive in Ottoville.
Survivors also include a brother,
Bradley, at home, her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Horstman,
Ottoville, her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Klima, Ottoville:
and her maternal great-grandmother Mrs. Flora Horstman, Ottoville.
Mass of the Angels was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate
Conception. Catholic Church, Ottoville, the Rev. Roger Bonifas officiating.
Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Frank Hohlbein
Former Putnam County Commissioner Frank Hohlbein, 86, Delphos Memorial Home, formerly of route 2, Fort Jennings, died at 2:35 p.m. last Wednesday in the home.
He was born August 28, 1898, to John and Mary (Altenburger) Hohlbein. He married Catherine Bensman on June 3, 1924, and she survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Robert, Delphos;
Richard, Lima; Gerald and Donald, both of Ottoville; five daughters, Mrs.
Virgil (Alice) Meyer, Ottawa; Mrs. Melvin (Rita Mae) Pohlman, Mrs. Carl
(Dolores) Hemker, Mrs. Richard (Mary Lou) Gerdeman, all of Delphos; Mrs. Paul (Valeta) Lammers,
Kalida: 36 grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hohlbein was a retired farmer and served two terms, 1952-1961, as Putnam
County Commissioner. He was a World War I Army veteran. A member of
Immaculate Conception Church,
Ottoville, the church's Holy Name Society and Delphos Eagles Club.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the
church, the Rev. Roger Bonifas officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Paulina Wehri
Sr. Majella Wehri; Ursiline Convent Nun
A funeral mass was celebrated Saturday for sister Majella Wehri, member of the OSU Catholic order for more than 68 years, at the Ursuline convent, 353 South Sappington Rd. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Sister Wehri, 92, died Thursday at the Ursuline infirmary in Alton.
She had taken her files in 1914. She had been assigned to the old Corpus Christi convent in Jennings, the Sacred Heart convent in Festus and St. Peter convent in Kirkwood.
She is survived by a sister, Anna Gietzen of Escondido, California.

Rev. Gerald Stein
The Reverend Gerald M. Stein, 67,
Ottoville, died at the Richard Schimmoeller residence in Fort Jennings at 3
a.m. Tuesday following an extended illness.
He was born September 11, 1915 in Tiffin
to Joseph and Mary Stein.
Survivors include three brothers,
Robert, Wade and Joseph all of Tiffin.
He was ordained June 19, 1943 in
Rosary Cathedral, Toledo. He served as an assistant pastor at St. Michael's
church in Findlay, and Sts. Peter and Paul, Sandusky. From 1959 to 1962 he was
an assistant pastor at St. Joseph's church, Fort Jennings. From 1962 to 1967 he
was the pastor at St. Mary's in Antwerp. He was pastor of St. Joseph's in Fort
Jennings from 1967-68. Following his stay in Fort Jennings he was pastor in St. Paul's, Norwalk,
until 1973when he became pastor of St. John the Baptist at Payne. In 1979 he
retired.
He was a member of the Knights of
Columbus.
Mass of Christian burial will be at
11 a.m. Friday in the Immaculate Conception
Church. Ottoville. Bishop James Hoffman will be the
celebrant. Burial will be at St.
Mary's Cemetery. Tiffin.
Friends may call from 6.10 p.m.
Wednesday at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Sifert Funeral Home, Ottoville, and from 3.10
p.m. Thursday at the church.
A parish wake service will be held
at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Clara Millenbaugh
Clara Millenbaugh, 98, Delphos, died at 5 am. Sunday at the Delphos
Memorial Home.
She was born March 31, 1886, in Putnam County, the
daughter of Joseph and Anna (Yak1in)
Millenbaugh.
Miss Millenbaugh was a retired
employee of the New Delphos Manufacturing Co. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
Survivors include a brother, Joseph
Millenbaugh, New Washington and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers and two
sisters are deceased.
Mass of Christian Burial was said
at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Catholic Church. Delphos. Burial was in St.
Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Elizabeth M. Gasser
Gasser,
Elizabeth M., Chesaning, Michigan, Passed away Saturday May 14, 1983, at the
St. Francis Home. Age 87 years. She was born Sept. 9, 1895, in Ottoville, Ohio.
Predeceased by he husband John Gasser in 1949. She is survived by four sons and
one daughter: Harold, Urban, Clarence, Wilfred Gasser, Mrs. Robert (Patricia)
Meyer all of Chesaning; 27 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; four step
grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; four brothers and one sister:
George and John Neitling both of Chesaning, Leo Nietling of Tecumseh, Mich.,
Joseph Neitling of Spearville, Kan., Mrs. Ed (Pauline) Wallen of Tucson, Ariz.
She was predeceased by a daughter Alfreda Hemgesberg, Frank, Harry, Fred,
Andrew Nietling, Sister Mary Thecia, and Emma Kulhanek.
Funeral
service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 1983, at Our Lady of
Perpetual Hope Church. Rev. James E. Faisey will officiate with burial in Mt.
Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home in
Chesaning after 5:00 p.m. Sunday. The family will meet at 8:00 a.m. Monday for
a prayer service. Memorial may be made to the St. Francis Home.

Arnold Heitmeyer
Arnold J. Heitmeyer, 83, route 2, Cloverdale, died at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Rita’s Medical
Center, Lima.
He was born December 19, 1919, in Fort Jennings to Fred and
Catherine (Dickman) Heitmeyer. He married Emma
K. Wieging who survives.
Mr. Heitmeyer was a farmer and a
Jackson Township maintenance department employee. He was a member of Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and the Holy Name Society of the church.
He was on the board of directors of Paulding-Putnam Electric Corp. for 26 years. He was a member of the VFW of
Ottoville.
Survivors include two sons, Larry,
Delphos; Dennis, Kalida: three
daughters, Mrs. Melvin (June) Gable, Delphos; Mrs. David (Connie) Ricker; and
Mrs. Doug (Shirley) Beining, Ottoville; 11
grandchildren; four brothers, John and Alphonse, Kalida; Leo and
Norbert, Ft. Jennings; three sisters, Mrs. Barbara Brinkman, Ottawa; Mrs. Cleo
(Frances) Schimmoeller, Fort Jennings and Mrs. Jean Smith, Kalida.
Services were held at 11 a.m.
Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Burial was in St.
Mary's Cemetery.

David E. Heiss
David E. Heiss, 58, Delphos, died at 4:15 a.m. today, Wednesday, at his home
of an extended illness.
He was born October 26, 1924, in Delphos, to Harold and
Leah (Truesdale) Heiss. His father survives in Delphos. On April 14, 1951, in Ottoville, he married
Margaret A, Heckman and she survives.
Also surviving are two sisters,
Mrs. Dave (Helen) Bruns, Wheaton, IL., and Mrs. Bill (Ruth) Heitzman, Lamirada,
CA.
Mr. Heiss served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, was a member of the Ohio State Employees Association and
manager of Lima, Eastgate Liquor Store. He was also a member of St. John's
Catholic Church, Delphos, where Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Siferd Funeral Home, Delphos,
where the parish wake service will at 8 p.m.
Friday.
