Alberta C. Deitering
Alberta C. Deitering, 86, died at 1050 a.m. Jan. 10, 2001, at
Paradise Oaks Healthcare Center in Cloverdale.
She was born Nov. 21,1914, in Glandorf to John and Lucy Mershman Kehres. On Sept. 25,
1935, she married Rudolph F. Deitering,
who survives in Cloverdale.
Mrs. Deitering was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and its altar rosary society
Survivors also include a
son, James (Grace) Deitering of Ottoville; two daughters, Doris (Fred) Dunn
of Romance, Ark., and Jenny (Jerry) Ritzel of Xenia; a brother,
Richard Kehres of Bellevue; three sisters, Donelda Smith of Norwalk; Emeline Hessling of Delphos, and Mary Jane Smith of Kalida, and six grandchildren, five step
grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by two brothers, Alphonse and Ottie Kehres, and a grandson.
Mass of Christian Burial will
begin at 10:30 am. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Tony
Borgia will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Ottoville.

Henry Potthoff
Henry B. Potthoff, 81, 602 Murray
St., Wapakoneta, died at 2:07 p.m. Jan. 11, 2001 at St. Rita's Medical Center,
Lima, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident that day in Allen
County.
He was born April 1, 1919, in
Cloverdale, to Theodore and Margaret (Krieger) Potthoff. On May 25, 1940, he
married Marie P. Diegelman, who survives.
Other survivors are a brother and his wife, Edwin and
Virginia of Cloverdale; a sister-in aw, Marcille of Norwood; and a
brother-in-law, Earl J. Kreitzer, Wapakoneta.
Deceased are a brother, Harry, a
brother-in-law, Rev. Clarence Diegelman, and two sisters-in-law, Sister Maurice
(Alma) Diegelman, C.PP.S. and Helen Kreitzer.
He was retired as manager of the
former Uhlman's Store in Wapakoneta, was a former baker with Mount St. Marys
Seminary in Norwood, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, Wapakoneta.
He was a 1937 graduate of Ottoville High School.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday at
the church, the Rev. Peter Chiodo, C.PP.S.
officiating. Burial is at Immaculate Conception Cemetery,
Botkins.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at
Long & Folk Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, with a Christian prayer service at 7
p.m.

Evelyn S. Felger
Evelyn S. Felger (nee Schram), 70, of Russell, died Jan. 28 at her winter home in Lake Placid, Fla.
Born July 5, 1930, in Ottoville, she was a longtime resident of Russell Township.
An avid gardener and homemaker, she and her husband were members of the Avion Group, a large travel trailer organization. Along with other owners of travel trailers, they traveled throughout the United States.
She was also a member of the Chagrin Valley Needlecraft Guild.
Mrs. Felger is survived by her husband, Willard "Pete" Felger; three daughters, Cindy (James) Helbig, of Lakewood, Beth (Dale) Ryan, of Auburn, and Sara (Scott) Ely, of Mongolia; eight grandchildren, Andrew, Jennifer and Heather Helbig, Jeremy Ryan, and Hannah, Zachary, Isaiah and Rachel Ely; her mother, Jennie Schram, of Defiance; sister, Arlene Baxter, of Titusville, Fla.; and two brothers, Eugene Schram, of Defiance, and Orville Schram, of El Cajon, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her father, Aaron Schram; and her twin brother, Everett Schram.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 3) at Fellowship Bible Church, 16391 Chillicothe Road in Bainbridge.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday (Feb. 2) at Stroud
Lawrence Funeral Home in Chagrin Falls.

Albert A. Plescher, 72, Delphos,
died recently at his residence.
He was born on August 12, 1928, in
Ottoville, to John and Suzann (Bohn) Plescher.
Survivors include one brother,
Robert J. (Vivian) Plescher,
Ottawa; and two sisters, Rita Schmitz, Ottawa,, and Ruth A. (Louis) Calvelage, Fort Jennings.
He was preceded in death by one
brother, George Plescher, and two sisters. Mary Catherine Plescher and Mary
Anne Plescher.
Mr. Plescher was retired from Orbitron and was a
member of St. John's Catholic Church Delphos, and Delphos Eagles #407.
Mass of Christian' Burial will

Lawrence J. Beining
Lawrence J. Beining, 88, died at 4:09 p.m. Feb. 9, 2001, at St.
Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born June 5,1912, in Van Wert County to Henry J. and Mary E.
Sanders Beining.
Mr. Beining was a retired farmer. He was a member of Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Holy Name Society.
Survivors include three brothers, John A. (Mari-Lou) Beining, Adolph E (Mildred) Beining and Oscar A. (Rita C.) Beining, all of Ottoville; and
two sisters, Martha M. Noonan and Elinor Kimmet, both of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Beining, and three
sisters, Veronica Hilvers, Marcella Beining and Bertha Kimmet.

Gerard F. Ritzel
Gerard Francis Ritzel. 68 Xenia, died at 1 1:40 p.m. on
Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Greene Memorial Hospital Xenia.
He was born on January 3, 1933, in
Cleveland, to William and Catherine (Tobin) Ritzel. On February, 13, 1971, he
married Shelvia ”Jenny" Deitering, and she survives.
Survivors also include two sons.
Fernando (Jessica] Ritzel and Marty Ritzel, both of Xenia; and three
grand-children. Kristofer, Chelsea and Brandon Ritzel.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Ritzel and Joseph
Ritzel.
Mr. Ritzel most recently ministered
at the Dayton Mental Health Center. He voleunteered
at Our Lady of the Rosary, taught at St. Bernard School, Springfield, was the
principal at St. Brigid School, Xenia, and Resurrection School. Dayton. He was
the administrator in the ESL program in Piqua, and had spent eight years as a
missionary of the Precious Blood, Chile.
Gerard was also a member of St.
Paul's. Springfield, as well as Our
Lady of the Rosary, Dayton.
Mass of Christian Burial was held
today (Wednesday) at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Dayton. Fr. Jim
McCabe officiated. Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Mary
Cemetery, Ottoville.

Rudolph H. Beining
Rudolph H. Beining, 77, Ottawa, died at 4:30 p.m. on
Thursday, March 29, 2001, at his residence.
He was born on April 15, 1923, in
Ottoville, to Theodore and Bernadine (Hellman) Beining. On April 21, 1949, he
married Valeta H. Grone and she sunrives in Ottawa.
Survivors also include one son,
John (Barb) Beining, New Cleveland; seven daughters, Kathleen (David, deceased)
Lewis, Lima, Beverly (Jeny) Hurd, Bremerton. WA, Mary Jane (Greg) Strayer,
Fremont, Sharon (Gregory) Nussbaum, Ottawa, Alvera (Kip) Warnke, ,Medina,
Carmella (Steve) Lammers, Tipp City, and .Laura (Terry) Wagner, Glandorf; a
son-inlaw, Roger Schroeder, Bryan; 25 grandchildren; one brother, Ray (Betty)
Beining, Delphos: and five sisters, Angela Kimmet, Mary (Herb) Hempfling, and
Alice (Bob) Arnzen, all of Delphos, and Gertrude Schmitz and Irene (Joe)
Schroeder, both of Ottawa.
He was preceded in death by one
daughter, Darlene Schroeder; and one sister, Mildred Beckman. Mr. Beining was a
retired dairy farmer of New Cleveland. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul
Catholic Church, Ottawa, and Holy Family Holy Aid Society. He was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran and a member
of Ottawa VFW.
A funeral Mass was held on Monday
at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. Fr. Tom Hemm officiated. Burial
was in the church cemetery, with military rites by the Ottawa VFW.
Love Funeral Home, Ottawa, handled
the arrangements.

Robert O. Lehman
Robert O. "BOB" Lehman, 92, died at 11 a.m. April 7, 2001, at Otterbein- Leipsic Retirement
Center.
He was born June 16, 1908, in Miller City to Joseph and Cora Radabaugh
Lehman. On Feb. 9. 1932. he married Leola A. Luttfring, who died July 6, 2000.
Mr. Lehman was retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation in
Putnam County and farming. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church, Ottoville, and its Holy Name Society. He was a member of Knights of
Colbus Council 1757, Ottawa.
Survivors include a son, Richard (James) Patricia J. Lehman of Grover
Hill; three daughters, Donna Jean Warnimont of
Cloverdale, Sister Joyce Lehman of Toledo and Patricia J. (James) Bloodeldl of Blufffon, Ind.; six grandchi1dren and 13
great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, William Lehman.

Nathan Mark Bendele, 28, died April 15,2001, of injuries suffered in an auto accident on County Road Q in Putnam County
He was born Sept.
25,1972, in Royal Oak, Mich., to Kenneth and Diane Garlock Bendele, who survive
in Ottoville.
Mr. Bendele was a bartender at Millie's Cafe, Ottoville. He was a
member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. He was a 1991
graduate of Ottoville High School. He was a NASCAR fan.
Survivors also include two brothers. Neil Bendele and Kurt Bendele, both of Ottoville; two sisters, Amy (Dairl) Evans of
Wooster and Heather Bendele of Plant City, Fla; paternal Bendele grandmother, Thelma Bendele of Ottoville; and
maternal grandparents, Edward and Jean Garlock of Ottoville.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Hubert Bendele.

Dortha K. Smith-Schmitt, 86,
Findlay, formerly of Ottoville, died at 6:05 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2001, at
Riverside Hospital, Columbus.
She was born on March 17, 1915, in
Warsaw, IN, to Grover and
Margaret (Foley) Dick. On January 21, 1934, she married Elmer A. Schmitt in
Ottoville and he died January 30, 1985.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth
Schmitt, Lima; three daughters, Jo Ann (James) Buettner and Linda (Louis) King,
both of Delphos, and Kathleen (Donald) Davies, Ottoville; 18 grandchildren; 20
greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn Rehus, Findlay.
She was preceded in death by one
grandson, Todd Buettner; five sisters, Eva Slough, Lillian Wendel, Margaret
Cavanaugh, Josephine Fleming and Alva Morrison; and one brother, Gilbert Dick.
Mrs. Schmitt had been an employee
of DWG Cigar Factory. She was a member
of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and St. Michael's Catholic
Church, Findlay.

Joseph G.
Miller, 77 of Wauseon, formerly of Ottoville, died May 30, 2001, at his
residence.
He was born
Aug. 30, 1923 in Ottoville to Joseph and Estella Gasser Miller. In 1945, he
married Barbara Burgei, who survives.
Mr. Miller
owned a chain of Miller Super Valu stores and video stores in Ohio, Michigan,
Indiana and Florida. He was a member of St. Casper Catholic Church. He was a
member of the Knights of Columbus and the Wauseon Benevolent and Protective
Order of Elks.
Survivors
include four sons, Garry (Rebecca) Miller of La Grange, Indiana, George(Pamela)
Miller of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Nicholas (Susan) Miller of Coldwater, Michigan,
Arthur (Paula) Miller of Wauseon; two daughters, Martha (John) Tester and
Joanna (John) Burkholder, both of Wauseon; a brother, Roger Miller of Wauseon;
a sister Margie Brenner of Montpelier; 20 grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and Michael Miller; a brother, Orville
Miller, and a sister Dorothy Bergfeld.

Edward H. Bradley, 62, died at 11:55 p.m. June 9, 2001, at his residence.
He was born July 21,1938, in Ottoville to Henry D. and Ruth Friemoth
Bradley. His father survives in Dundee, Mich. His mother, Ruth Carbone,
survives in Hicksville. He had been married to Karen
Hord, who survives in Caryville, Tenn.
Mr. Bradley retired from Field Gimmy Inc., Glandorf. He was a member of
SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.
Survivors also include four sons, Darrell (Lynn) Bradley of Leipsic,
Daniel Bradley of Atlanta, Ind., Martin (Miriam) Bradley of Clinton, Tenn., and
Anthony (Brandy) Bradley of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, Ralph Westrick and
Pat Westrick, both of Leipsic; two sisters, Judy Johnson of Hicksville and
Sherry Phillips of North Baltimore; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Westrick.

Eugene J. Weber
Eugene J. Weber, 71, died June 9,
2001, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
He was born April 20,1930, in Landeck to Frank X. and Mare Honigford
Weber On Aug. 28, 1954, he married Eileen M. Freund, who survives.
Mr. Weber was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its Holy Name
Society. He was a lector and lay minister at the parish. He also was Holy Trinity Parish historian. He was a retired
Coldwater High School teacher, having also served as coach
and athletic director. He was a longtime adjunct instructor at Wright State
University Lake Campus. He was a past president of the Coldwater Teachers
Organization and was active in other education associations. He was a track
official for more than 30 years. He
served on Coldwater Village Council for 16 years.
He was a member of the Mercer County Veterans Service
Commission, was a life member and past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars
Post 5135 and a life member and past commander of
American Legion Post 470, both in Coldwater. He was a life member and service
officer of AMVETS Post 91, Celina. He was a trustee of the
American Legion Buckeye Boys State. He was a life member and past grand knight
and past district deputy of the Coldwater Knights of Columbus, and life member
and past exalted ruler of the Mercer County Elks. He was a longtime
member and past zone chairman of the Coldwater Lions. He was the founder and
adviser of the Coldwater Leo Club. He was the longtime president of the
College Community Arts Council and, with his wife, was longtime
president of the National Marriage Encounter of Maria Stein. He was active on
many other boards. Mr. Weber was a Korean War veteran.
Survivors also include a son, Mike (Amy) Weber of Yorkville,
Ill.; two daughters Maria (Kenneth) Lee of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Karen (Joseph)
Meyer of Marion; six brothers, Don Weber of Estes Park, Colo., Art Weber of Fort Wayne, Ind., Leonard
Weber of Detroit, Kenneth Weber of Greenville, R.I., Larry Weber of Minnesota, and the Rev. Herbert Weber of Mansfield; six
sisters, Sister Helen Weber of Aurora, Colo., Mildred Rahrig, Celeste Geise and
Judy Fischer, all of Delphos, Dolores Spieles of Wauseon and Lucille Fuchs of
Brandon, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick.

Alice Marie Wannemacher
Alice Marie Wannemacher, 72, died at 8:30 p.m. July 28,2001, at her
home.
She was born on Aug. 10, 1928, in Fort Jennings to Joseph and Mary
Schultz Wittler. On April 23,1949, she married Justin J. Wannemacher, who survives.
Mrs. Wannemacher worked at Paradise Oaks Nursing Center in Cloverdale. She
was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville. She was a
former secretary for Jacob F. Smith
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3740 and served as president for both the Altar
Rosary Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the American Cancer
Society in Putnam County. She was also the former education chairperson for the
Putnam County Cancer Society.
Survivors include three sons, Ron (Ann) Wannemacher of New Carlisle,
Ariz., Garry (Candy) Wannemacher of Columbus and Mark (Sue) Wannemacher of
Delphos; four daughters, Karen (Philip) Wiechart of Delphos, Irene (Tom)
Hesseling of Delphos, Mary (Steven) Ricker of Ottoville and Vicky (Donald) Maag
of Fort Jennings; three sisters, Sylvia Horstman of Ottoville, Alma Schnipke of
Ottawa and Alvera Stippich of Lima; and 21 grandchildren and seven great
grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son, Larry Wannemacher; a brother Albert
Wittler; and two sisters, Eleanor Gordon and Agnes Fusselman.

Jacquelyn Sue Dearth, 38, died at 519 a m. July 7,2001, at Lima

Hospital.
She was born June
4,1963, in Lima to James and Jean Mandery Hilvers, who survive in Ottoville. On Nov. 8,
1994, she married Donald G. Dearth, who survives.
Mrs. Dearth was a member
of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia
Council 30, both of Ottoville. She was a 1981 graduate of Ottoville High School and graduated from Lima
Technical College as a radiology technician.
Survivors also include a daughter, Mallory Sue Dearth of Bluffton, and
a sister, Judy Kemper of Ottoville.

Brenda Kay Phillips
Brenda Kay Phillips, 49, died at 1:50 p.m. July 27,2001,
after a traffic accident in Alma, Mich.
She was born April 11,1952, in Van
Wert to Benjamin Oscar
"Bud" and Ferne E. Rice
Chilcote. Her mother also died in the crash. On May 27, 1977, she married Jay
Dee Phillips, who survives in Ottoville.
Mrs. Phillips worked for 17 years
at General Electric in Decatur. She was
office manager for P&L Fertilizer, Middle Point. She was a 1970
graduate of Ohio City-Liberty High School and a member of First Assembly of God
Church in Delphos, the church's women's ministry and the Amvets Club in Middle
Point.
Survivors also include two
brothers, Tom L. Chilcote of Van Wert and James A. Chilcote of Toledo; two
sisters, Janet A. Carr of Willshire and Jean A. Cozad of Van Wert.
Services will begin at 11 a.m.

Alice Giesken, 77, Ottoville, died
at 8 a.m. on Wednesday,

She was born on March 18, 1924, in
England, to Joseph William and Elizabeth (Hunter) Laverick. On September 29,
1945, she married William Henry Giesken, in England, and he died February 13,
1971.
Survivors include four sons,
Michael (Alice) Giesken, Lima, Dave (Carol) Giesken and Mark Giesken, both of
Ottoville, and Joseph (Mary) Giesken, Oakland, CA; two daughters, Kathy (Mark)
Hilvers and Evelyn (Don) Burgei, both of Ottoville; seven grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Laverick, England.
She was preceded in death by one
son, William James Giesken; one brother, Joseph Laverick; and two sisters,
Margaret Wills and Audrey Brown.
Mrs. Giesken had worked at Van Dyne
Crotty and then worked in area restaurants as a cook at the Dew Drop Inn, Wheel
Inn, Carriage Inn, Whistle Stop and Topp Chalet. She was a member of Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Altar Rosary Society.
Mass of Christian Burial was held
on Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Rev. Tony
Borgia officiated.
Following the funeral services, she
will be cremated and her remains will be returned to her native England.

Margaret C. Klima
Margaret C. Klima, 87, Ottoville, died at
1:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2001, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home.
Glandorf.
She was born on August 11, 1914, in
Ottawa, to Frank and Frances (Bohrer) Klausing. On June 15, 1937, she married
William W. Klima and he died
October 10, 1978.
Survivors include several nieces
and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four
brothers, Alfred Klausing, Cletus "Pete"' Klausing, John Klausing and
Floyd "Budn Klausing; and one sister, Marcella Tenwalde. Mrs. Klima was
the owner/operator of the Ottoville Meat Market and Dairy Whip. She was a member of the
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Altar Rosary
Society. She was also a lifetime member of the Ottoville. VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Mass of Christian Burial. was held
on Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, Rev. Tony
Borgia officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Ottoville,
Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Orians Funeral Home, Ottoville, handled the, arrangements.

Barbara M. Landwehr, 88,
Cloverdale, died at 6: 12 a.m. on
Monday, September 24, 2001, at
her residence.
She was born on May 28, 1913, in Cloverdale, to Frank and Mary
(Mortz) Miller. On August 16, 1939, she
married John A. Landwehr and he died January 9, 1990.
Survivors include one son, Richard
(Dianna) Landwehr, Cloverdale; two daughters, Ruthann (Paul) Ricker, Columbus
Grove, and Arlene Baselice, East Rockaway, NY; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one
son, Robert Landwehr; four brothers, Ike Miller, Joe Miller, Otto Miller and
Rank Miller; and three sisters, Mamie Wehri, ' Rosie Ricker and Lena Dickman.
Mrs. Landwehr was a homemaker and a
member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Cloverdale.
Mass of Christian Burial was held
today Wednesday) at St. Barbara's Catholic Church, Cloverdale. Rev. Robert Kill
officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Hilariuos R. Van Oss
Mass of Christian burial for
Hilariuos Rolandus "H.R." Van Oss, 97, of Nelson, who died Sept. 28
at University Hospital, Cleveland, will be 11 a.m.
Tuesday at St. Ambrose Catholic
Church, Garrettsville, the Revs. James Van Oss and James Pentello officiating.
Burial will be Park Cemetery, Garrettsville.
He was born June 16, 1904, in
Ottoville to John and Margaret (Nomina) Van Oss. He had been married to Cecelia
C. Van Oss, who died Dec. 3, 1990. He then married Mary (Theado) Reis,
who survives.
Survivors also include six sons, Eugene (Helen) Van
Oss of Barberton, Pa., Howard Van Oss of Cake, Minn., John J. (Mary Ann) Van
Oss of Akron, the Rev. James Van Oss of Pinckneyville, Ill., and Jerry
(Lauraine) Van Oss and Jeffrey (Carol) Van Oss of Nelson; three stepchildren,
Judy Smith of Marion, Tom (Sherry) Reis of Worthington and Jack (Charlene) Reis
of Savannah, Ga.; 26 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a
brother, Roland Van Oss; and a sister Lidvina Van Oss. Mr. Van Oss had been an
Civil Engineer employed at Ohio Edison. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic
Church, Garrettmille.

Bernard "Jake" Kramer
Bernard
"Jake" Kramer, 89, Ottoville, died at 6:10 a.m. on Monday, October
15, 2001, at Paradise Oaks Nursing center, Cloverdale.
He was born
on September 18, 1912, in Delphos, to August and Bernadine (Hesseling) Kramer.
On May 3, 1944, he married Barbara Gasser and she died April 25, 1977.
Survivors
include one son, Michael (Jeanie) Kramer, Ottoville; four daughters, Marlene
Duncan and Ruth (Henry "Joe") Kemper, both of Ottoville, Judy
(Richard Bockrath, Kalida, and Donna (Tom) Hasenkamp, Delphos' 17
grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was
preceded in death by one son, Gerald Kramer; and siblings. Mildred Kundert,
Ralph "Pete" Kramer, Reuben Kramer and Evelyn Baumgarte; and
half-siblings, Arnold Grothaus, Lawrence Grothaus, Carl Grothaus, Edmund
Grothaus and Ann Schwinner.
Mr. Kramer
was retired farmer. He was a member of Immaculate Conception catholic Church,
Ottoville, and its Holy Name Society. He managed the church social for many
years, had been on the Parish Council and was on the board of directors for the
Ottoville Telephone Company.
Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery,
Ottoville.

Loretta M. Smith, 91, died at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 1, 2001, at
Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Glandorf.
She was born March 29, 1910 in
Putnam Countv to the Bernard and Lucy Martin Schulte. On Oct. 29, 1930, in
Ottoville, she married Albert J. Smith, who died Sept. 29, 1973.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. She
was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its
Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and
Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2234 Auxiliary, Ottawa, where she had served
as madam president.
Survivors include four daughters,
Mary Lou (Alex) Miller and Doris Ann Honigford, both of Ottoville, Bernice (Ed)
Klaben of Centerville and Virginia (Robert) VonLehmden of San Antonio; a
brother, Henry Z. Schulte of Delphos; two sisters, Lorene E. Fuerst of Columbus
Grove and Dolores D. Van Oss of Ottoville; and 17 grandchildren, three step
grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren,
five step great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a
daughter, Patricia Ann Smith; a son-in-law, Victor Honigford; and three
grandchildren, Denise, Mary and. Joseph Honigford.

Lauretta R. Miller, 88, died at 9:50 p.m. Nov. 14, 2001, at the Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born June 16, 1913 in Ottoville to the late Joseph and Veronica Koetter Beining. On June 16,1933,
she married Marcus Miller, who died Jan. 7,
1978.
Mrs. Miller had worked as a telephone operator in Ottoville,
and a laundress the Delphos Memorial Home and
a childcare provider. She was a member of the Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, where she was a a member of its Alter Rosary Society and the choir. She was a member
of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3740 Auxiliary, Ottoville, and a former
member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
Survivors include three daughters, Norma Pohlman of Delphos and Carol (Hubert) Byrne and Pam Schnipke both of Ottoville; a brother, Eugene Beining of
Ottoville; and 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Arthur
and Joseph Jr. Beining, and two
sisters, Hilda Ricker and Genevieve
Becker.

Danny J. Buecker
Danny J. Buecker, 33, formerly of Cloverdale, died at 11:16 p.m. Nov. 16, 2001, at
Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born July 8,1968, in Lima to David (Becky) Buecker of
Bellefontaine and Linday (Guy) Miller of Cloverdale.
Mr. Buecker worked for Teleflex in Van Wert and was a former member of
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville. He graduated from Ottoville
High School in 1987 and served in
the United States Navy.
Survivors include a sister, Melissa Miller of Cloverdale; two
stepsisters, Cherie (Jeffrey) Miller and Christine (Keith) Brown; paternal
grandmother Agnes Buecker of Delphos; and step-grandmother Leone Miller of
Cloverdale.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Dorothy and George
Looser; and step-grandfather Victor Miller.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville. The Rev. Tony Borgia will oficiate.
