1-24-1966
Joseph Bendele
            Joseph Bendele, Delphos, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the Roselawn Nursing Home at Spencerville.
            Mr. Bendele was a native of Ottoville, where he was born March 2, 1873, to Martin and Helen Bendele. He was married in 1903 to Mary Miller, and she died in 1935. He married Ricka Teters Sterrett in 1938 and she survives.
            Also surviving are two sons, Isadore, Uniopolis and John, Ottoville; five daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Gertrude) Schlagbaum, Mrs. Raymond (Bernetta) Allemeier, Meridian Idaho, and Mrs. Fred (Loretta) Work, Roanoke, Ind., Mrs. Arnold Boshet and Mrs. Joseph (Rosine) Severin, both of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Clara Miller, Columbus Grove; 28 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren.
            He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Delphos where requiem high mass was sung at 9 a.m. today by the Rev. Joseph I. Schill. Burial was in the church cemetery.

August B. Meyer
            August B. Meyer, 76, of 609 E. Suthoff, Delphos, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Rohrbach Nursing Home, Cridersville, of a heart attack.
            Born in Ottoville January 21, 1890, he was the son of Joseph and Bernadine Woebken Meyer. He never married.
            Surviving are a sister, Miss Mary Meyer, 609 E. Suthoff, and a brother Herman of Ecorse, Michigan.
            Requiem High Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John’s, Rev. Joseph I. Schill celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville. Friends may call at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Delphos, after 7 p.m. Thursday.

Elizabeth Moeggenborg
Mrs. Elizabeth Moeggenborg, 79, of rt 2, Alma, Michigan, died Sunday at her home. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church and the Rosary and Alter Society. Surviving are seven sons, Harry and Oliver, both of Shepherd; Edward of St. Louis; Lawrence and Fred, both of St. Johns; Lewis of Alma; and Linus of Elwell; three daughters, Mrs. Carl Doepker of Lansing, Mrs. Gerald Turnwald of Shepherd, and Mrs. Carl Post of Big Rapids; 59 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; a brother, Theodore Beining and a sister, Mrs. Rose Koester, both of Ottoville, Ohio. The rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8 PM at the Garber funeral home. Services will be Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with burial at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.

Mary Eickholt
            Mrs. Mary Eickholt, 70, resident of the Ottoville community, died at 1:10 Friday afternoon in St. Rita’s Hospital, Lima, following an extended illness.
            She was born at Cloverdale on June 9, 1895, a daughter of August and Eva Smith. She was married to Leo J. Eickholt in 1917.
            Surviving with her husband are two sons, Lawrence and Jerome, of Ottoville; three daughters, Mrs. Gilbert (Rita) Ricker, Delphos, Mrs. Leo (Irene) Schnipke, of Kalida, and Mrs. Louis (Martha) Kaverman, Delphos; 35 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Albert Weber, Delphos, and Mrs. Milton Bowers and Mrs. Bryan Kaverman, Lima; and two brothers, George Smith of Ottoville, and Henry Smith, of Northfield.
            Mrs. Eickholt was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Alter Rosary Society of the parish.
            Services were held in the church at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz officiated. Burial was made in the church cemetery.

Cecelia H. Schwertner
            Mrs. Cecelia H. Schwertner, 74, resident of Ottoville, died at 11:15 Friday forenoon in Roselawn Convalescent Home, Spencerville, following a long illness.
            She was born at Grand Rapids, Mich., April 30, 1891, a daughter of the late Henry and Frances Wurst. She was married to Lee Fortener, who preceded her in death, and she later married Joseph Schwertner, who is also deceased.
            She is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Paul Stallkamp and Mrs. Leo German, of Delphos, and Mrs. Henry Reau, of Erie, Mich., and Mrs. Norman Stokes and Mrs. Clarence Wessell, both of Ottoville; and two brothers, Edward Wurst, Delphos, and Frank H. Wurst, of Ottoville.
            Mrs. Schwertner was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the alter Rosary Society of the parish.
            Services were held in the church at 9:30 Monday morning. Monsignor J. F. Frommherz officiated. Interment was made in the parish cemetery.

Donald C. Siebeneck
            Donald C. Siebeneck, 21, resident of the Ottoville community, died at 2:25 Monday morning in St. Rita’s Hospital, Lima. His death was due to a heart attack.
            He was born in Putnam County on January 5, 1945, the son of Ray and Florence Siebeneck.
            He is survived by his parents; five sisters, Sharon and Janet, at home; Mrs. Charles (Velma) Warnimont, of Miller City, Mrs. Robert (Theresa) Gerding, of Kalida, and Mrs. Ronald (Jane) Pothast, of Delphos; two brothers, Robert, at home, and Norman, of Ottoville, and his step-grandmother, Mrs. Barbara Siebeneck, of Oakwood.
            The young man was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville where services were held at 9:30 Thursday morning. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Anna Schimmoeller
            Mrs. Anna Schimmoeller, 89, a former Ottoville resident, died at 12:20 Thursday afternoon of last week in New Horizon Nursing Home at Springfield. She had been in failing health for several months.
            Mrs. Schimmoeller was born in Austria on May 26, 1876, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Turnwald, she was married to Nicholas Bendele, and after his death she was married to Frank T. Schimmoeller. He preceded her in death in 1943.
            Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Cloyd Dater and Mrs. Eugene Gladen, both of Springfield, Mrs. Leo Bendele, of Delphos, Mrs. Lucy Rayman, of Ottoville, and Mrs. Anna Miller, of Toledo; two sons, Leon Schimmoeller, of Delphos, and Henry Schimmoeller, of Ottawa; 31 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and two brothers; William and Edward, both of Ottoville.
            The deceased was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Springfield.
            Services were held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, at 9:30 Monday morning. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mary F. Gasser
Mrs. Mary F. Gasser, 67, resident of the Ottoville community, died at 3:34 Saturday afternoon in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima, following an illness of 10 months.
            She was born at Ottoville on December 26, 1898, a daughter of Henry and Mary Ricker. She was married to William Gasser on April 25, 1917.
            She is survived by her husband; 11 daughters, Mrs. William (Anna) Knippen, Ottoville; Mrs. Melitus (Dorothy) Osting, Mrs. Joseph (Agnes) Knippen, and Mrs. Theodore (Lavera) Hanf, Delphos; Mrs. Leonard (Regina) Boehmer, Mrs. Leonard (Leona) Bruskotter and Mrs. Ralph (Ledonna) Ostendorf, Ft. Jennings; Mrs. Paul (Rita) Miller, Warsaw IN.; Mrs. Eugene (Alvera) Kleman, Dayton; Mrs. Mel (Mary Ann) Fortman, Harold (Delores) Rieman, Kalida; three sons, Arthur, of Ft. Jennings; Robert, of Ottoville, and William, of Kalida; a brother, Herman Ricker, St. Mary's; three sisters, Mrs. Jacob Burgei, Ottoville; Mrs. Theresa Kemper, Ottoville, and Mrs. Elizabeth Pohlemar, Bellevue; 67 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
            Mrs. Gasser was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville, the Alter-Rosary Society, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, and the VFW.
            Services were held in the Ottoville church at 9:30 Tuesday morning. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Cornelius W. Brinkman
            Cornelius W. Brinkman, prominent farmer and bricklayer, of route 2, Cloverdale, died at 4:05 p.m. Monday in Lima St. Rita’s Hospital, where he had been seriously ill one day.
            Funeral services were at 9:30 a.m. today in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz was celebrant of the Requiem High Mass. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Ottoville.
            Mr. Brinkman was a lifelong resident of the Cloverdale and Ottoville area. He was born at Cloverdale on March 18, 1906, the son of Joseph and Theresa Brinkman. He married Barbara Heitmeyer on July 17, 1934, and she survives.
            Other survivors include six daughters, Mrs. James (Ruth) Rosengarten, route 4, Ottawa, Mrs. Kenneth (Anna Marie) Meyer, route 2, Ottawa, Mrs. John (Theresa) Friemoth, Idyllwild, Cailf., Sister M. Cornelia (Juliana) C.PP.S., Centerville, Sister M. Barbara Louise (Rita) C.PP.S., Cincinnati, and Mrs. Michael (Agnes) Swint, Ottoville; two sons, Robert and Thomas, at home; three brothers, Lawrence, Ottoville, Raymond, Continental, and Leander, Ottawa; seven sisters, Mrs. Leonard Martin, Ft. Jennings, Mrs. Al Reaman, Lima, Mrs. Alph Heitmeyer, Kalida, Mrs. Harold, Hageman, Delphos, Mrs. Leo Altenburger, Cloverdale, Mrs. Leo Bibler, Continental, and Miss Irene Brinkman, Lima, and nine grandchildren.
            Mr. Brinkman was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and its Holy Name Society.

Flora E. Becker
            Mrs. Flora E. Becker, 80, a former resident of Ottoville, died at 2:30 Saturday morning at the Parnell Nursing Home in Ft. Wayne, Ind., following a lengthy illness.
            She was born at Cloverdale on December 5, 1885, the daughter of Bernard and Agnes Unterbrink. She was married to Joseph W. Becker who preceded her in death on June 5, 1962.
            Surviving are a son, Clarence Becker, of Ft. Wayne; a sister, Mrs. Emma Droll, of Geneva Ind.; two brothers, Benjamin Unterbrink, of Van Wert, and Louis Unterbink, of Rivera, Texas.
            Mrs. Becker was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville where services were held ay 9:30 Tuesday morning. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Benedict J. Wannemacher
Benedict J. Wannemacher, 67, of Lima, died at 4:30 Wednesday morning in St. Rita's Hospital, following a two-day illness due to a heart condition.        
            He was born at Ottoville on March 18, 1899, the son of Mathias and Mary Wannemacher. He married Laura Weber, who preceded him in death. In March of this year he was married to Irma Wieging Bohn.
            Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Syl (Jane) Bohn, Mrs. Maynard (Ruth) Gable, and Mrs. Walter (Mary) Schumaker, all of Toledo; four sons, Harry, Warren and Benedict all of Toledo, and Russell, of Bowling Green; 19 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Miss Wilma Wannemacher and a brother Hubert Wannemacher, also of Toledo.
            Services will be held at nine o'clock Saturday morning in the Immaculate Conception Church at Ottoville. Msgr. F. J. Frommherz will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Ottoville after seven o'clock Thursday evening.

Henry B. Ruhe
            Funeral services were held ay 9 a.m. today in St. John’s Catholic Church in Continental for Henry B. Ruhe, 85, route 2, Continental. The Rev. Albin Radecki officiated and burial was made in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Ottoville.
            Mr. Ruhe died at 10:45 p.m. Monday in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Lucinda Burgoon, Lima. He had been ill two years.
            He was born in Glandorf June 8, 1881, the son of Henry and Barbara Ruhe. He married Johanna Bensman on May 1, 1906, and she survives.
            Surviving besides his wife, who lives in Continental, are a son Alexander, Continental; three daughters, Mrs. Burgoon, Mrs. Stella Wurst, Defiance, and Mrs. Marcella Humphries, Bryan; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles, of Shelby; three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Kleman, Columbus Grove, Mrs. John (Thresia) Sager, Ottawa, Mrs. Hubert (Rosa) Gerdeman, Ottawa. A sister and two brothers are deceased.
            Mr. Ruhe was a retired farmer. He was a member of St. John’s Church at Continental.

Barbara Hohlbein
            Mrs. Barbara Hohlbein, 68, route 2, Cloverdale, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday in St. Rita’s Hospital, Lima, following an extended illness.
            She was born in Ft. Jennings on March 18, 1898, the daughter of Henry and Anna Lehmkuhl. She married Andrew Hohlbein at Ottoville on March 4, 1919, and he survives.
            Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Otto (Alma) Schnipke, route 1, Cloverdale; five sons, Eugene, route 3, Shepherd, Mich., Oscar, route 2, Cloverdale, Ralph, Toledo, John, route 2, Delphos, and Virgil, route 1, Cloverdale; 42 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Lehmkul, St. Louis, Mich.
            Mrs. Hohlbein was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville, its Alter Rosary Society, and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
            Requiem High Mass was offered at 10 o’clock this morning in the church by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery

Peter F. Fischbach
            Peter F. Fischbach, 72, lifelong resident of the Ottoville community, died in St. Rita’s Hospital, Lima, at seven o’clock Wednesday evening following and illness of three months.
            He was born at Ottoville on June 18, 1894, a son of John and Martha Fischbach. His wife the former Verona Becker, died on February 4, 1964.
            He is survived by four sons, Eugene, a deputy sheriff of Putnam County, and Gerald, Victor, all of Ottoville, and James of Pandora; 18 grandchildren; a brother, Henry, of Delphos, and a sister, Mrs. Louis (Catherine) Hoersten, of Rockford.
            A retired farmer, Mr. Fischbach served as a trustee for 12 years, was a veteran if World War I, and a member of the World War I Veterans, and the Ottoville VFW, and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Holy name Society.
            Services will be held in the church at nine o’clock Saturday morning. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
            The body is at the Kolkmeyer Funeral Home in Ottoville where friends may call after seven o’clock this evening, Thursday. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at eight o’clock Friday evening, and the Ottoville VFW will conduct military rites at the cemetery.

George J. Honigfort
George J. Honigfort, 64, formerly of Cloverdale, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, by Msgr. J. F. Frommherz. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
            Friends may call at McCrate Funeral Home, Ottawa. Mr. Honigfort died at 12:30 a.m. Thursday after an extended illness. Born Oct. 5, 1901, in Ottoville, he was the son of Barney and Mary Bohn Honigfort.
            He was a guard at Lima State Hospital and a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Lima.
            He is survived by three brothers, William of Ottawa, Oliver of Ft. Jennings and Edward of Cloverdale, and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Bernadine) Schimmoeller of Spencerville.

Thomas P. Peters
Cloverdale Lad Rides Bike In Path Of Auto; Succumbs To Injuries
            Ten-year-old Thomas Peters, route 1, Cloverdale, died at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday in Lima St. Rita’s Hospital of injuries received the previous day when he rode his bicycle into the path of a car on Road N, three miles north of here.
            The boy was fatally injured at 2:30 p.m. Monday and was taken to the hospital where he was placed in the intensive care ward immediately. Death was attributed to head and internal injuries. The boy was the son of Arnold and Arleen Peters, route 1, Cloverdale.
            Sheriff James Ruhe, who investigated, said the boy rode his bike out of a field in front of a car operated by Mrs. Dorothy Ruen, 23, route 1, Cloverdale.
            Mrs. Ruen told the sheriff she saw two boys come out of the driveway, which had tall weeds growing on both sides of it, and as she was attempting to pass them the Peters boy came out directly in front of her. Ruhe said the accident was unavoidable and exonerated the driver. The youth is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Peters, route 1, Cloverdale.
            The two other boys were identified as the dead boys brothers, Stephen, 11 and Terry, 9.
            Thomas Phillip Peters was born in Lima on January 4, 1956. He is survived by his parents; two sisters, Linda and Beth, two brothers, Steven and Terence, all at home; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Rekart, Ft. Jennings, and Mr. and Mrs. Amos Peters, Cloverdale.
            He would have been a fifth grade student in Ottoville school next year. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville.
            Requiem high Mass will be offered in the church at 9:30 a.m. Friday with Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

John E. Luebrecht
John E. Luebrecht, 88, of 1140 N. West died at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in St. Rita's Hospital where he had been a patient two weeks.
Born in Ottoville March 30, 1878, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Luebrecht. He married Elizabeth Kleman May 3, 1905, and she died June 18, 1964. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Francis (Asella Anne) Meyer of Wapakoneta, Mrs. A. H. (Lucina) Rayman of 1146 N. West and Mrs. Marie Meyer of Glandorf; two sons, Gilbert of Fort Jennings and Elmer of Wapakoneta; four brothers, William and Arnold, both of Ottoville, Frank of Dayton and Lawrence of Delphos; four sisters, Mrs. Tillie Krienbrink of Avilla, Ind., Mrs. Aloys Kastner of Dayton, Mrs. Katie Verhoff of Ottawa and Mrs. Andy Brinkman of Kalida; 28 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Luebrecht was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida, and its Holy Name Society.
Requiem High Mass will be offered in the church at 9:30 a.m. Friday by Rev. Melchoir Lochtefeld. Friends may call at Harris Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, after 7 tonight. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.

Arthur Gasser
            Arthur Gasser, 41, of route 2 Ft. Jennings, died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Rita's Hospital after a serious illness of four days.
            An employee of the Ford Motor Company at Lima, he was born Jan. 18, 1925, in Ottoville, a son of William and Mary (Ricker) Gasser.
            On November 28, 1946 he was married at Ft. Jennings to Mary Schimmoeller, who survives.
            Also surviving are three sons and four daughters, Tim, Terry, Greg, Connie, Joyce, Jane and Jeanne, all at home; his father, William Gasser, Rt. 1, Cloverdale; 11 sisters, Mrs. William (Anna) Knippen, Ottoville; Mrs. Melitus (Regina) Boehmer, Ft. Jennings; Mrs. Joseph (Agnes) Knippen, Delphos; Mrs. Paul (Rita) Miller, Warsaw, IND.; Mrs. Leonard (Leona) Bruskotter and Mrs. Ralph (Ledonna) Ostendorf, both of Ft. Jennings; Mrs. Eugene (Alvera) Kleman, Dayton; Mrs. Theodore (Lavera) Hanf, Delphos; and Mrs. Mary Ann Fortman and Mrs. Harold (Delores) Rieman, both of Kalida; and two brothers, Robert Gasser, Ottoville, and William Gasser, Kalida. His Mother passed away April 9 of this year.
            Mr. Gasser was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Ft. Jennings American Legion Post, St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the St. Joseph Society.
            Funeral services will be held with a Requiem High Mass at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ft. Jennings.
            Friends may call at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Ottoville after 7 o'clock this evening. The parish rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Friday, and military services will be conducted at the graveside by the Ft. Jennings American Legion Post.

Walter G. Wannemacher
            Walter G. Wannemacher, 73, retired farmer, died at his home near Ottoville at 7:15 Wednesday evening. He had been in failing health for several years, however, his death came unexpectedly as the result of a heart attack.
            He was born at Ottoville on October 6, 1892, the son of Andrew and Magdelena Wannemacher, and had resided in the Ottoville community all his life. He was married to Adeline Schwertner on October 16, 1916.  
            Surviving with his wife are three sons, Ludwin, of Delphos, and Richard and Raymond, of Ottoville; a daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Mildred) Luersman, of Delphos; 13 grandchildren; and two brothers, Albert, Ottoville, and Fred of Celina.
            Mr. Wannemacher was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where services will be held at 9:30 Saturday morning. Monsignor J. F. Frommherz will officiate. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.
            The body is at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Ottoville, where friends may call after seven o’clock Thursday evening. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8:30 Friday evening.

Elizabeth Johnson
            Mrs. Edith Johnson, 86, of Ottoville, died at 6:50 Thursday evening of last week in Hardin Memorial Hospital at Kenton, following an illness of two weeks.
            She was born at Ottoville o March 31, 1880, the daughter of Paul and Elizabeth Schneeg. She was married to William Johnson, who died in 1929. Nieces and nephews are her nearest survivors.
            She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville where funeral services were offered by Msgr. J. F. Frommherz. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Theresa Metzger
            Theresa Metzger, 88, a former resident of Delphos and Toledo, died yesterday in a nursing home in Cridersville where she was a patient two weeks. She had been ill since she broke her hip on a visit to Florida several months ago.
            Mrs. Metzger was a native of Ottoville, O., and lived in Toledo while she was a housekeeper in the rectory of St. Francis DeSales Church.
            Surviving are sons, Paul and Leonard, both of Toledo, Eugene of Delphos, and Rudolph of Erie, Michigan; daughters, Mrs. O. H. Hofstetter, Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Carl Edwards, of Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. Arthur Kroeger, of Lima; sister Mrs. Veronica Fetzer, Willshire, O., 19 grandchildren, and 47 great-grandchildren.
            Services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. John’s Church, Delphos, with burial in the church cemetery. The body is in the Kolkmeyer and Helmkamp Mortuary, Delphos.

Zelma Lauer
            Miss Zelma Lauer, 57, a resident of Cleveland and formerly of Ottoville, died in a Cleveland rest home Wednesday of last week following an extend illness.
            She was born at Ottoville on April 24, 1909, a daughter of Nicholas and Anna Lauer.
            She is survive by two sisters, Mrs. Leo Hoffman, of Monroe, Mich., and Mrs. L. J. Wannemacher, of Ottoville, and three brothers, Louis, of Toledo, Arthur, of Cleveland, and Joseph Lauer, of Ottoville.
            Services were held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville at 10 o’clock Saturday morning. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Wilma S. Gasser
            Miss Wilma Gasser, 42, of route 2, Ft. Jennings, died in a Toledo Hospital at five o’clock Wednesday afternoon of last week following an extended illness.
            She was born at Ottoville on August 14, 1924, the daughter of Gebhard and Mayme Gasser.
            She is survived by her parents, of Ottoville; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph (Rosemary) Kramer, and Mrs. Herman (Alma) Beckman, both of Delphos; two brothers, Gebhard, also of Delphos, and Rudy of Ottoville.
            Miss Gasser was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where funeral services were held at 9:30 Saturday morning. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

George N. Rieger
            Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. today in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville for George N. Rieger, 82, Ottoville. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. F. Frommherz officiated and burial was made in the church cemetery.
            Mr. Rieger died at 4 a.m. Monday in his home following an illness of four months. He was owner of a sheet metal firm.
            He was born in Ottoville on December 23, 1883, the son of Landolin and Mary Rieger.
            Surviving are his wife, Anna, whom he married in 1905; a son George G., Ottoville; three daughters, Miss Euletta Rieger, at home, Mrs. Eugene (Ruth Ann) Hoehn, Ottoville, and Miss Ethel Rieger, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Monica Helkey, Tiffin.
            Mr. Rieger was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society and the Catholic Knights of Ohio.

Johanna I. Ruhe
            Mrs. Johanna I. Ruhe, 82, route 2, Continental died at 4 a.m. last Thursday in Lima St. Rita’s Hospital where she had been a patient six days following a stroke. She had been in failing health for four years.
            Last rites were held 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John’s Catholic Church, Continental with the Rev. Albin Radecki celebrating the requiem high mass. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.

            Mrs. Ruhe was born in Glandorf on June 24, 1884, the daughter of George and Anna Bensman. She married Henry B. Ruhe on May 1, 1906, and he died last June 27.
            Surviving are a son, Alexander, route 2, Continental; three daughters, Mrs. Marcella Humphries, route 2, Bryan, Mrs. Lucinda Burgoon, Lima, and Mrs. Stella Wurst, route 4, Defiance; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
            Mrs. Ruhe was a member of St. John’s Church at Continental, its Alter Rosary Society, and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.

Walter P. Calvelage
            Walter P. Calvelage, 81, of route 2, Ft. Jennings, died at 8:30 Thursday evening in the Delphos Memorial Home after an illness of three months.
            He was born at Ft. Jennings on October 2, 1885, a son of Henry and Caroline Calvelage. He was married to Mary Krieger, who died in 1952.
            Mr. Calvelage is survived by three sons, Leander and Eugene, both of Delphos, and Othmer, of route 2, Ft. Jennings; two daughters, Mrs. Gumer (Rita) Weis, of Ottawa, and Mrs. Louis (Loretta) Hoffman, of Delphos; eight grandchildren; and two brothers, Joseph and Edward, both of Ft. Jennings.
            Mr. Calvelage was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and was a former director and appraiser for the German Mutual Insurance Company, and a former member of the Ottoville School Board.
            Services were held in the Ottoville church at 9:30 Monday morning, Monsignor J. F. Fommherz officiated. Burial was made in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at Ft. Jennings

Anna Brandehoff
A Requiem High Mass was intoned at 11:30 this morning in St. John's Catholic Church for the funeral of Mrs. Anna C. Brandehoff, former East Third street resident. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
            Mrs. Brandehoff, 82, died at 6 p.m. Friday in Mercy Hospital, Tiffin, Ohio.
            Born Aug. 24, 1884, in Ottoville, she was a daughter of Henry and Agnes (Kortokrax) Honingford. In 1907 she married George Brandehoff, who died July 14, 1921.
            Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John (Georgeanna) Uhrich, Chicago, ILL.; two sons, Dr. A. J. and Dr. B. E. Brandehoff, both of Lima; nine grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Stettler, Van Wert; Mrs. Fred Hurry, Convoy, and Mrs. Martha Rode, Delphos. Two sons are deceased, Eugene died in 1916 and Msgr. Adrian F. Brandehoff died in 1958.
            Mrs. Brandehoff was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, of its Rosary-Alter Society, of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Golden Age Club.
            Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Homer Weber
            Word has been received at Ottoville of the death of Homer Weber, 46, of Harrison, Mich., who was fatally injured Tuesday evening of last week, when his truck went off the road and ran into a ditch near Detroit. He was removed to a hospital by a passing motorist, but was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. It is believed that he may have suffered a heart attack, which caused the accident.
            Mr. Weber the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Weber, Sr., of Taylor, Mich., was born at Ottoville and moved with his family to Michigan some years ago. He is survived by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters. One sister is deceased. He was never married.
            Services were held Saturday morning in St. Alfred’s Catholic Church at Taylor. Burial was made in the church cemetery.
