Mary Mathilda Ziegman
Mary Mathilda Ziegman, age 100, of Fostoria passed away on Friday January 1, 2010, at Independence House, Fostoria, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Dec. 27, 1909 in Cloverdale, Ohio, to the late Frank and Mathilda (Shirack) Droll. She married Arthur Ziegman on Aug. 23, 1934 in Cloverdale, and he preceded her in death in 1986.
Surviving are her daughters, Alice (Richard) LaFontaine, Findlay, Elaine Roush, Risingsun, Joann (Jim) Schreiner, Tiffin, sons, Wayne (Joan) Ziegman, Fostoria, Fred (Elaine) Ziegman, Findlay, Ray Ziegman, Fostoria, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, George Arthur Ziegman, sisters, Eda Wannemacher, Alvira Dibling and Sister Gertrude Ann C.P.P.S., Sister Mary Leandra C.P.P.S., brothers, Raymond Droll, Wilfred Droll and Joseph Droll.
She was a graduate of Ottoville High School and the St. Vincent School of Nursing. She worked for 10-plus years at Fostoria Community Hospital as a Head Nurse on First South. She was a member of the 55+ Club, Circle of Mercy, Rosary Altar Society and the Retired Nurses Association. She enjoyed playing cards, tatting, quilting, crocheting, gardening, flowers and being with her family. She was also a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, for over 75 years.
Visitation will be on Monday Jan. 4, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at HOENING FUNERAL HOME, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria with a Christian Wake service at 3:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday Jan. 5, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria where a rosary will be prayed at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Arthur J. Friemoth
Arthur J. Friemoth, 97, formerly of Coe St., Tiffin, died at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Elmwood Assisted Living at the Shawhan. He was in good health and enjoyed life at the Elmwood right up to the end.
He was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Ottoville, to the now late Theodore and Angela (Spieles) Friemoth. He married Margaret U. Omlor June 11, 1941, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. She died Aug. 17, 2008.
Surviving are two daughters, Dr. Angela Herring of Newport News, Va. and Jeanette (Enver C.) Wolfe of Blue Rock; three brothers, Orville (Phyllis) Friemoth and Edwin Friemoth both of Michigan and Hubert Friemoth of Delphos; two sisters, Rita Heidenescher and Marie Musgrave both of Michigan and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lenus and Elmer Friemoth and two sisters, Mary Friemoth and Susan Tesnow.
Mr. Friemoth retired in 1979 as a stationary engineer and electrical maintenance technician at I.T.T. Art was a jack-of-all-trades and learned a lot about electrical repair as a young man. He did much electrical work on the side during his life. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was very active in his faith and with the church festival.
Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, and 9-10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at Traunero Funeral Home, 214 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883,(419) 447-3113. Prayers will be said at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at the funeral home, followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joseph Szybka officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The rosary will be recited in the church twenty minutes prior to Mass.

Ruth M. Storrer
Ruth M. Storrer, age 91, of Archbold, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 13, 2010, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold.
Prior to her retirement she had been a beautician for 60 years, having owned and operated Kay's Beauty Shop in Archbold from 1948-1997.
Mrs. Storrer was born in Ottoville on Jan. 3, 1919, the daughter of the late William and the late Christena (Martin) Schneeg. On Nov. 23, 1944, she married Edward Storrer, and he preceded her in death in 1996.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Archbold.
Surviving are five daughters, Nancy Storrer of Archbold, Diane Kruse of Omaha, Neb., Sue (Lee Roy) Speelman of Bryan, Linda (Bill) Martin of Archbold, Mary (David) Augustine of Archbold; two sons, Dave (Lou Ann) Storrer of Archbold, Dan (Cheryl) Storrer of Archbold; 26 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and one brother, Walter Schneeg of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; one son, Thomas Storrer; one sister, Dorothy Siebeneck; one brother, Oscar Schneeg; one great-grandson, Drew Galvan; and one son-in-law, Richard Kruse.
A funeral mass was celebrated at 1 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Archbold, with the Rev. Father Gary Ferguson officiating. Interment followed in the St. Peter Cemetery in Archbold.
The family requests that memorial contributions be given to St. Peter Catholic Church, Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties, or Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home.

Martha E. Carder
Martha E. Carder, 96, died at 8:34 a.m. Jan. 20, 2010, at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born June 15, 1913, in Ottoville to Anthony and Rose Gasser Bensman, who preceded her in death. She married Lewis “Pat” Carder, who died in 1988
            Mrs. Carder was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. She was a charter member of the Best Mom’s Club. She enjoyed cooking, reading and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Even after 96 years, there was no question who was the matriarch of the family.
                Survivors include two sons, Stanley (Judith) Carder, of Elida, and Tim (Bev) Carder, of Lima; a daughter, Denna (Harold) Point, of Indianapolis; 18 grandchildren; several lovable great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Edy Carder.
            She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Boyer; a son, Tom Carder; two brothers, Leonard and Lawrence Bensman; and a sister, Ann Rellinger.
            Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Father Jacob Gordon will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos.
            Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos, where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Margaret E. Burger
Margaret E. “Marge” Burger, 97, died at 12:39 a.m. Jan. 22, 2010, at Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert.
She was born Dec. 6, 1912, in Ottoville to John P. and Emma Ott Pittner, who preceded her in death. On July 22, 1944, she married Richard John Burger, who died Oct. 4, 1968.
Mrs. Burger had worked at Betty Jane for 35 years. She was a volunteer at the Thrift Shop. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards, sewing and traveling.
Survivors include a son, Robert John (Marsha) Burger, of Raleigh, N.C.; three daughters, Carolyn A. Kesler, of Van Wert, Janet C. (Rex) Profit, of Bonne Lake, Wash., and Mary Jane (John) Sprague, of Columbus; five grandchildren, Erin (Todd) Hansen, Erica (Kirk) Berryman, Bryan (Tamsen) Profit, Jason Profit and Brent Burger; three stepgrandchildren, Julie Craig, Chris Sprague and Kerri Weaver; and six great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Odenweller, Emma Pittner, Regina Pittner and Gertrude Wiechart; three brothers, Joseph, Andrew and John Pittner; a son-in-law, James Kesler; and a grandson, Kevin Kesler.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Father Mike Zacharias will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Leroy N.Warnement
Leroy N. “Lee” Warnement, 77, died at 4:45 a.m. Jan. 31, 2010, at the Meadows of Kalida.
He was born Sept. 26, 1932, in Ottoville to Albert Sr. and Alma Bendele Warnement, who preceded him in death. On June 9, 1956, he married Mary Ann Holtz, who survives in Kalida. They were married for 53 years.
             Mr. Warnement retired from Ford Motor Co., Lima, after 38 years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida and its Holy Name Society. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370, Lima, and Loyal Order of Moose in Winter Haven, Fla.
                Survivors also include four sons, Richard “Harry” (Joyce) Warnement, of Van Wert, Mitchell Warnement, of Lima, Joseph (Laura) Warnement, of Kalida, and Anthony Warnement, of Lima; four grandchildren, Jay and Holly Warnement, both of Van Wert, and Zachary and Noelle Warnement, both of Kalida; three brothers, Albert Warnement Jr., of Kalida, Thomas (Donnie) Warnement, of Fort Jennings, and Paul Warnement of Toledo; and two sisters, Janet (Dave) Recker, of Ottawa, and Shirley (Joe) Rosselit, of Kalida.

Mary Catherine Koester, 87, died at 8:25 a.m. Feb. 4, 2010, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
            She was born June 13, 1922, in Putnam County to Charles and Catherine Looser Leis, who preceded her in death. On June 22, 1946, she married Ambrose Koester, who died Oct. 3, 1987.
            Mrs. Koester was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a 1940 graduate of Ottoville High School. She was an excellent cook and baker.
                Survivors include three sons, Dennis (Patricia) Koester and Timothy (Jane) Koester, both of Ottoville, and Jeffrey (Norene) Koester, of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Kathleen (Steve) Lambright, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and June (Ron) Miller, of Ottoville; 12 grandchildren, Andy Koester, Sarah (Steve) Howell, Diana Koester, Adam (Natalie) Koester, Mandy Koester, Kelly Miller, Kyle Miller, Ryan Miller, Keith Koester, Grace Koester, Lee Koester and Amy Koester; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan Howell, Stephen Howell and Brooklyn Koester; a sister, Louise (Romie) Lozano, of Delphos; and a sister-in-law, Alice Leis, of Ottoville.
            She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Koester; and two brothers, Hubert and Carl Leis.

Jerome "Jerry" Koester, Age 80 passed away, Wednesday Feb. 10, 2010 in Burnsville. He was born and raised in Putnam County Ohio. Preceded in death by, parents, Henry & Clara Koester; siblings, Gerald, Roman, Clarence, Victor, Virgil, Rita Burger, Eileen Sanders, Mildred Wannemacher He is survived by his loving wife, Marita; sons, Ned (Deb), Nicholas (Barbara), Eric (Celeste), and daughters, Lori Koester, and Lynee Koester; grandchildren, Molly, Joshua, Zachary Koester, Jenny Brost, Amy DeSantis, Michael & Amanda Koester, Mitchell Blackey; great grandchild Angelo DeSantis; sister, Irene (Don) Friemoth, Mary Jane (Lawrence) Burger. Jerome was proud of his Korean War tour of duty. He spent his career with Sears and he enjoyed many years of retirement. Norval A. Wannemacher
Norval Albert Wannemacher, 95, died at 2:10 a.m. Feb. 14, 2010, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
            He was born Feb. 4, 1915, in Ottoville to Sylvester J. and Regina M. Wurst Wannemacher, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 28, 1946, in Columbus Grove, he married Cecelia Agnes Fuerst, who preceded him in death.
            Mr. Wannemacher was self-employed as a farmer and enjoyed farming. He was a longtime retired postal clerk. He had been employed at the Lima Ordnance Depot and Lima Parts. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces from 1942 to December 1945. He attained the rank of staff sergeant. He served most of World War II at Herington Army Air Field in Herington, Kan., where he worked on heavy bombardment aircraft, specializing in oxygen systems. He was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. He was a member of American Legion Post 96, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, Delphos, and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 199.
                Survivors include a son, Michael L. Wannemacher, of Elida; a daughter, Terri (Dale) Katzenburger, of Ashburn, Va.; a grandson, Erik Davenport, of Springfield, Va.; a granddaughter, Tiffany Gilliland, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a great-grandson, Stephen Gilliland, of Ashburn, Va.; a great-granddaughter, Savannah Gilliland., of Ashburn, Va.; and three sisters, Priscilla Wannemacher, of Delphos, Alice Maag, of Fort Jennings, and Rita Eickholt, of Columbus.
            He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Ethel Wannemacher; three brothers, Earl, Richard and Bobby Wannemacher; a sister, Jean Leonard; and a daughter-in-law, Sandi Wannemacher.

Agnes V. Archdeacon
Agnes V. Archdeacon, 91, died at 8:45 a.m. Feb. 22, 2010, at VanCrest Health Care Center, Delphos. She was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Ottoville to Louis W. and Sophie C. Wannemacher Heckman, who preceded her in death. On June 11, 1946, she married Thomas J. Archdeacon, who died May 4, 1993.
            Mrs. Archdeacon had been a schoolteacher for Ottoville Schools and had owned Ottoville Lumber Co. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Altar Rosary Society, Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the parish council. She was a graduate of Mary Manse College, Toledo. She was a member of the Ohio Education Association, the Ohio Lumberman’s Association and the Ottoville Community Club.
                Survivors include a son, Thomas (Kate) Archdeacon, of Dayton; two daughters, Mary Beth (Kenneth) Lash, of Kendallville, Ind., and Catherine (William) Looser, of Ottoville; three grandchildren, Jesse (Barb) Looser, Toby (Allison) Looser and John Michael Lash; four great-grandchildren, Reese Looser, Cambell Looser, Jonathan Looser and Jack Looser; and two sisters, Mary Catherine Heckman and Margaret Heiss, both of Delphos.
            She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Heckman; and two sisters, Gertrude Shay and Dorothy Heckman.

Ruth M. Mikesell
Ruth M. Mikesell, 95, died at 6:59 p.m. Feb. 26, 2010, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
            She was born Jan. 21, 1915, in Ottoville to Frank and Anna Schimmoeller Miller, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 18, 1954, she married Howard E. Mikesell, who died June 12, 1967
            Mrs. Mikesell attended Columbus Grove High School. She worked at Kenny’s Lunch for many years and was well known for her macaroni salad. She also worked at Triplett Corp. until her son became ill. She was a member of Columbus Grove Christian Church, where she was an assistant financial secretary for many years. She attended church until her health no longer permitted. She had great faith and lived it every day.
            She enjoyed the Grove Bulldog basketball games, crocheting afghans, working circle-a-word books and watching “The Price is Right.” She always had a ready smile and was very pleasant to everyone. Ruth had made many friends during her stay at Hilty Memorial Home. She looked forward to seeing her daughters every day and was always waiting with a smile and a kiss.
                Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Mikesell and Joyce Mikesell, both of Columbus Grove; a sister, Helen Kress, of Akron; two sisters-in-law, Gert Miller, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and LaDonna “Donnie” Stoots, of Lima; and nieces and nephews, Charles Mikesell, of Cedarville, Mary Ann Balser, of Sidney, Alice Mirricle, of Vaughnsville, Sharon Mikesell, of Cairo, Brenda Wagner, of Custar, Pam Walther, of Deshler, Sharon Ackerman, of Findlay, Bobbie Wyant, of Bonita Springs, Fla., Charlette Gillispie, of Van Wert, Sue Schotter, of Toledo, Scott Boyer, of Temperance, Mich., Frank Miller, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Diane Teslak, of Canton, Mich., Jack Miller, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Barbara Miller, of Scottsdale, Ariz.
            She was preceded in death by a son, Fredrick “Fred” Mikesell; two brothers, Eugene “Gene” Miller and Charles “Chuck” Miller; a sister, Mary Boyer; a niece, Jane Schindler; and five nephews, Ron Mikesell, Tom Mikesell, Ken Mikesell, Doyle Mikesell and Harold Felver.
                Services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Gary Ginter will officiate. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove.

Gerhard E. Otte
Gerhard E. “Junior” Otte Jr., 73, died at 9 p.m. March 15, 2010, at his residence.
            He was born Dec. 1, 1936, in Ottoville to Gerhard and Dorothy Purdy Otte, who preceded him in death. On Feb. 16, 1973, he married Marilyn Wilson, who survives in Delphos.
            Mr. Otte was a city foreman for the city of Delphos for 31 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, and was a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
                Survivors also include a sister, Barbara (J. David) Evans, of Van Wert.
            He was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Myers; and an infant brother, Kenneth Otte.
            Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.

Roger L. Honigford
Roger L. Honigford, 75, of Malinta and formerly of Leipsic died 11:37 am Saturday, March 27, 2010 at University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo.
He was born January 20, 1935 in Ottoville to the late John and Theresa (Weber) Honigford. On February 14, 1976, he married Wanda Punches. She died January 9, 1998.
Surviving are his loving companion, Ruth Spangler of Malinta; 4 children: Tonya (Michael) Friia of Pandora, Toni (Michael) Keith of Leipsic, Walter (Nancy) Harper, Jr. of Belmore; Anita Welsch of Port St. Lucie, FL; 7 grandchildren: Matthew Roger Friia, Elizabeth Kindle, Nicole Keith, Ryan Keith, PJ Richter, Jr., Angel Loth and Ashley Welsch;  5 great-grandchildren: Emily Richter, Grace Richter, Trevor Loth, Ava Loth and Madison McDonald; 2 brothers: Al Honigford of Ottoville, Walter (Paulette) Honigford of Delphos; 2 sisters: Rose “Sis” (Hank) Wegesin of Delphos and Anna Marie Kahle of Ottawa. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: Vic, Bud and Oswald Honigford.
Mr. Honigford retired as a greeter with Ottawa Walmart. He was a member of Faith Assembly of Believers Church, Ottawa. He was a US Army veteran. He played keyboard with the Len Collier Band and enjoyed music, puzzles, gardening and traveling. He loved spending time with his family.
Funeral service will begin at 1 pm Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Leipsic with Rev. Larry Bibler officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Township Cemetery, Hamler with military rites by the Leipsic American Legion and VFW.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Tuesday and one hour prior to service at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.

Jerome W. “Whitey” Altenburger, 88, died at 8:35 p.m. April 4, 2010, at Van-Crest Health Care Center, Delphos.
            He was born July 24, 1921, in Ottoville to Andrew and Matilda Schmitt Altenburger, who preceded him in death. On June 5, 1943, he married Velma Martin, who survives in Ottoville.
            Mr. Altenburger retired as a truck driver from Dot Truck Lines,
Lima. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3740, Ottoville, American Legion Post 715, Fort Jennings, the Teamsters Union and the Delphos Country Club, Delphos. He enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He was a talented athlete and an avid sports fan. He and his wife enjoyed many happy years wintering in St. Petersburg, Fla.
                Survivors also include two sons, Gary (Nuan) Altenburger, of Thailand, and Bruce (Sylvia) Altenburger, of Delphos; a daughter, Judy (Mike) Heitmeyer, of Ottoville; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wilbur (Sally) Altenburger, Paul (Betty) Altenburger and Donald (Betty) Altenburger, all of Ottoville; three sisters, Louise “Sis” Alt, of Ottoville, Dolores “Dolly” Friemoth, of Fort Jennings, and Irene Stechschulte, of Kalida; and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Altenburger, of Van Wert, and Dorothy Altenburger, of Delphos.
            He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Altenburger; and three brothers, Harold and Hubert Altenburger and Peter Schmitt.
            Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Father John Stites will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ottoville, with military rites by VFW Post 3740 and American Legion Post 715.

Evelyn B. Mueller
Evelyn Bernadine Mueller, 98, died at 4:20 p.m. April 9, 2010, at Van Wert County Hospice Center. She was born Jan. 31, 1912, in Delphos to William and Rose Ann Trentman Hesseling, who preceded her in death. On May 23, 1933 she married Aloysius J. Mueller, who died June 16, 1991.
            Mrs. Mueller was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, the Landeck Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Altar Rosary Society, Ottoville. She enjoyed tatting and praying the rosary. She loved flowers, playing cards and visits from her family.
                Survivors include two sons, the Rev. Donald Mueller, of Gibsonburg, and Joseph (Diane) Mueller, of Delphos; two daughters, Angela (Jerry) Hohlbein, of Ottoville, and Sister Diane (Anna Marie) Mueller, of Tiffin; a sister, Rowena Suever, of Delphos; and 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
            She was preceded in death by two daughters, Rose Ann Mueller and Janice Deitering; four sisters, Clara Hesseling, Leona Hesseling, Mildred Warnhoff and Marie Wulfhorst; a brother, Arnold Hesseling; and a greatgrandson, Kyle Clark.
            Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. The Rev. Donald Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.

Wilma P. Tenwalde
            Wilma P. Tenwalde, 83, of Ottoville died 9:05 am Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at her residence. She was born March 9, 1927 in Ottoville to the late John and Mary (Martin) Schumaker. On May 8, 1948 she married Virgil Tenwalde and he survives in Ottoville.
            Also surviving are her 13 children: Julia (Gordon) Vogt of Delphos, Joan (Steve) Schleeter of St. Mary’s, Kathy (Joe) Owen of Spencerville, Carl (Cathy) Tenwalde of Ft. Jennings, Ken (Jane) Tenwalde of Oakwood, Jane (Dave) Leiendecker of Pandora, Sharon (Charles) Okuly of Continental, Carol (John) Jones of Elida, Annette (Dennis) Korney of Continental, Tony (Angie) Tenwalde of Cloverdale, Theresa (Phil) St. John of Lawrenceburg, KY. Lori (Joe) Mangas of Montero, Bolivia, and Vickie Mangas of Defiance; an adopted daughter: Sylvia Zylstra of Punta Gorda, FL; 40 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 6 step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, 2 brothers: Albert and Leonard Schumaker and 2 sisters: Marie Burns and Germaine Spicer.
            Mrs. Tenwalde was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and it’s Altar Rosary and Catholic Ladies of Columbia Societies. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a very giving person. She was loved by all who knew her.

Paul Herman
Paul Herman, 74, of Morenci passed away Friday, April 23, 2010, at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian. He was born on Nov. 10, 1935, in Ottoville, Ohio, the son of Othmar and Emma (Smith) Herman. On June 23, 1959, in Madison he married Patricia DeLongchamp and she survives.
Paul has lived in Morenci since 1994. He was formerly employed at American Chain and Cable in Adrian as a tool setter from where he retired in 1986. Paul served his country during the Korean War in the Air Force. He was a member of the Morenci American Legion #368, a life member of the Adrian VFW, and a life member of the Korean War Veterans.
Besides his wife, Pat, Paul is survived by a daughter, Teresa (David) Earles of Tecumseh; a son, Paul (Lorilie) Herman of Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren, Rachel and Matthew Earles; six sisters, Carol (Ora) Hatcher of Sylvania, Ohio, Joyce (Mike) Dwyer of Morenci, Mary Ellen Davis of Adrian, Delores Rayer of North Branch, Minn., Lillian Warren (Rollin Lauber) of Hudson, and Diana (William) Mundhenk of Fayette, Ohio; three brothers, Richard Herman of Tennessee, Robert (Ingrid) Herman of California, and David Davis (Joan Hood) of Tucson, Ariz.; three half-sisters, Vicki Herman, Gayle (Lyle) Clark and Karen Herman; two half-brothers, Charles Herman and Daniel Herman; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth DeLongchamp and Lois Evans both of Adrian; and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Henry Davis; a sister, Clara Jeanette Herman; two brothers, Oscar and Edward Herman; and two brothers-in-law, Robert and William DeLongchamp.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci with Fr. Gary Ferguson officiating. There will be no visitation.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Dolores M. "Dolly" Friemoth, 83, of Fort Jennings, died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born April 20, 1927, in Ottoville, Ohio, to the late Andrew and Matilda (Schmitt) Altenburger. She married Richard Friemoth. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: Son - Daniel (Marilyn) Friemoth of Ft. Jennings; Sisters - Louise "Sis" Alt of Ottoville and Irene Stechschulte of Kalida, Ohio; Brothers - Wilber Sr. (Sally) Altenburger, Paul (Betty) Altenburger and Donald (Betty) Altenburger, all of Ottoville; Sisters-in-law - Evelyn Altenburger of Van Wert, Dorothy Altenburger of Delphos, Ohio, and Velma Altenburger of Ottoville; Three grandchildren: April Friemoth, Clint Friemoth and Holly (Kane) Osting, and five great-grandchildren, Zachary Friemoth, Abigail Koester, Ethan Koester, Leia Osting and and Layne Osting, also survive.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Harold, Hubert and Jerome "Whitey" Altenburger, and a grandson: Daniel Anthony Friemoth.
She was a homemaker and retired as a waitress from the Dew Drop Inn in Ottoville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings with viewing one hour prior at the church. The Rev. John Stites will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Calling hours are 2-8 p.m. Sunday at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. There will be a parish wake on Sunday to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Viola L. Dickman Lambert, 63 of Ottoville died 7:20 am Wednesday, May 05, 2010 at The Meadows of Ottawa-Glandorf. 
She was born January 8, 1947 in Putnam County to the late Anthony and Magdalena (Miller) Dickman. 
Surviving are 3 brothers: Elmer Dickman of Delphos, Virgil Dickman of Middle Point, Bob (Myrna) Dickman of Crystal Falls, MI and many nieces and nephews. She had been married to Allen G. Lambert.  Preceding her in death was a sister: Pat Horstman and her husband Ralph; 3 brothers: Paul Dickman and his wife Barb, Art Dickman and Roger Dickman; 2 sisters-in-law: Helen “Susie” Dickman and Mary “Bea” Dickman.
            Viola was a home health care aide for Community Health Professionals of Van Wert. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and its Rosary Altar Society. She was a 1965 graduate of Ottoville High School and a member of the VFW Auxiliary # 3740 in Ottoville.
            A Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:00 am Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. John Stites officiating. Alice M. Meyer
Alice M. Meyer, 83, died at 9:15 p.m. May 7 2010, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was born April 13, 1927, in   Ottoville to Frank and Catherine Bensman Hohlbein, who preceded her in death. On April 26, 1952, she married Virgil   J. Meyer, who died Dec. 23, 1997.
            Mrs. Meyer was a retired LPN from Putnam Acres Care Center and a lifelong farmer. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa, and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a volunteer at Putnam Acres Care Center after retirement. She was also a member of the Farmers Union, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Auxiliary 9142, Ottawa, and LPNA Ohio Division 13.  
               Survivors include a son, Dean J. Meyer, of Beloit, Wis.; a daughter, Mary Beth Meyer, of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Jessica Meyer and Katelyn Meyer; four brothers, Robert (Wanda) Hohlbein, of Delphos, Dick (Sue) Hohlbein, of Shawnee, Jerry (Angie) Hohlbein, of Ottoville, and Don (Janice) Hohlbein, of Ottoville; four sisters, Rita Mae (Melvin) Pohlman, Dolores Hemker and Mary Lou (Rich) Gerdeman, all of Delphos, and Valita Lammers, of Kalida.
            She was preceded in death by twin siblings, Carl and Carol Hohlbein, and two brothers-in-law, Carl Hemker and Paul Lammers.

Regina M. Knippen, 91, died at 10:55 p.m. May 17, 2010, at The Meadows of Kalida in Kalida.  
            She was born July 2, 1918, in Putnam County to John and Catherine Hueve Utendorf, who preceded her in death. On   Feb. 24, 1941, she married Melitus F. “Jack” Knippen, who died Oct. 31, 1997.
            Mrs. Knippen retired in 1982, from Philips Display Components, Ottawa. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a member of the Philips Retirees.
               Survivors include a son, Ken (Connie) Knippen, of Ottoville; three daughters, Ann (Steve) Turnwald, of New Haven, Ind., and Jean (Mike) Byrne and Jane (John) Schlagbaum, both of Ottoville; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a sister, Thecla Crawford, of Virginia; and a sister-in-law, Betty Wannemacher, of Elida.  
            She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Knippen; a great-granddaughter, Myka Lynn Turnwald; three brothers, Francis, Edward and John Utendorf; and two sisters, Sister Ann Utendorf and Mary Kreinbrink.

Paul J. Liebrecht, 85, died at 11:30 a.m. May 18, 2010, at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
He was born March 5, 1925, in Ottoville to William “Bill” and Catherine Knapp Liebrecht, who preceded him in   death. On Sept. 29, 1956, he married V. Sue Teegardin, who died Nov. 25, 2005.
            Mr. Liebrecht retired from Scott Lad Foods, Lima. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Bluffton. He was a member of American Legion Post 516, Columbus Grove.
               Survivors include two sons, William “Bill” (Mimi) Liebrecht, of Columbus Grove, and Thomas “Tom” Liebrecht, of Ottawa; a daughter, Lisa Jane Extine, of Columbus Grove; two brothers, Claude Liebrecht, of Toledo, and Jerome Liebrecht, of Lima; eight grandchildren, Mark Liebrecht, Mike Liebrecht, Brooke Liebrecht, Brittany Liebrecht, Kassie Extine Wiechart, Abby Liebrecht, Katie Extine and Harrison Liebrecht; and a great-grandchild, Terrik Sigler.  
            He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Sue Liebrecht

Catherine H. Miller, 92, died at 8:35 p.m. May 21, 2010, at Vancrest Healthcare of Delphos.
            She was born July 6, 1917, in Ottoville to George and   Elizabeth Hoffman Martin, who preceded her in death. She was married to Herman O Miller, who died Sept. 19, 1996.  
            Mrs. Miller was a housewife. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck, and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a life member of the Spencerville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6772. She enjoyed playing bingo, reading and flowers.
               Survivors include three sons, Ronald (Linda) Miller, of Delphos, Frank (Lois) Miller, of Delphos, and Dave (Earlene) Miller, of Landeck; four sisters, Irene Kill, of Delphos, Marie Etzkorn, of Delphos, Leona (Billy) Adams, of Grover Hill, and Helen Cross, of Delphos; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  
            She was preceded in death by four sisters, Francis Kroeger, Elenora Grothouse, Viola Studenka and Jane Young; and a brother, Albert Martin.
            Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck. Father John Fleck will officiate. Burial will be in Landeck Cemetery.

Eugene A. Odenweller
Eugene A. “Nub” Odenweller, 91, of Ottoville died 8:40 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010. He was born December 8, 1918 in Ottoville to the late Alex J. and Bertha (Flanagan) Odenweller. On November 30, 1939 he married Anna L. Otte who died July 3, 2003.
            He is survived by his children: Lenore A. Knepper of Leipsic, Howard (Pam) Odenweller of Ottoville, Jennifer (Tom) Rekart of Delphos and Mark (Deanna) Odenweller of Ottoville; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son: Paul Odenweller; a son-in-law: Kenneth Knepper; 2 brothers: Tom and James Odenweller; 3 sisters: Kathleen Koehl, Irene Ricker and Alice Fortman.
            Mr. Odenweller was retired from Odenweller Milling Company where he was the owner and president. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and it’s Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Delphos Eagles, Lima Elks and Ottoville VFW.

Carla Mae Landin
Carla Mae Landin, 68 of Ottoville died 10:23 pm Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born May 5, 1942 in Kalida to the late Walter and Edna (Ruhe) Warnecke. On June 3, 1961, she married Larry H. Landin and he survives in Ottoville.
Also surviving are 3 children: Perry (Kathy Walker) Landin of Ottoville, Kerry Landin of Lewisville, TX and Jodi (Chuck) Koester of Ottoville; 2 grandchildren: Kyle Koester and Kendra Koester both of Ottoville; 3 brothers: Jim (Diane) Warnecke, Tom (Joyce) Warnecke and Dan (Diana) Warnecke all of Kalida.
            Mrs. Landin was a retired teacher with the Delphos City Schools having touched many lives educationally for 30 years.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and its Altar Rosary Society. She also was a teacher for the church’s religious education program and volunteered countless hours of her time to various church organizations. She received her Bachelor Degree from The Ohio State University and Library Science from Bowling Green State University. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who always put the needs of others ahead of her own. Carla enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing, baking and farming. She was an avid bike rider and enjoyed attending Ottoville basketball games.  She touched many hearts and will be greatly missed by family, friends and community.
            A Mass of Christian burial will be held 1:00 pm Friday, May 28, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville with Fr. John Stites officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Thursday and 11:00 am until time of service Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township (at the corner of St. Rts. 224 & 634) where a scripture service will be held at 6:30 pm Thursday.

Ed T. Garlock
Ed. T. Garlock, Sr., 47 of Grover Hill, died 4:15 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert, Ohio.  He was born August 24, 1962 in Clawson, Michigan to Edward and Jean (Weaver) Garlock.  Father is deceased and mother survives in Ottoville, Ohio.
            Other survivors include his children: Edward Garlock, Jr. of Bryson City, North Carolina, Bryan Garlock and Erica Garlock both at home; five sisters: Diane (Kenneth) Bendele of Ottoville, Judy (Hugh) Hughes of Commerce, Michigan, Jeannie (Marty) Rhodes of Monroe, North Carolina, Tracy Garlock of Cloverdale and Janet (Dan) Kwaiser of Saginaw, Michigan; seven nieces, six great-nieces, eight nephews and six great-nephews.  Preceding him in death is his brother, Michael Garlock and a nephew, Nathan Bendele.
            Ed worked as a machinist at Eaton in Van Wert, Ohio and had been a truck driver.  He is an US Army Veteran.
            A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, Ohio, with Fr. Ronald J. Wessell
Ronald J. Wessell, 77, of Ottoville, died 10:41 am Sunday, May 30, 2010 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.  He was born September 11, 1932 in Hamilton to the late Clarence and Martha (Wurst) Wessell.  On November 26, 1955, he married Joan “Tooter” Martin who survives in Ottoville.
            He is also survived by his children: David (Kendra) Wessell of Ohio City and Debra (Larry) Altenburger of Ottoville; five grandchildren: Noah Altenburger, Alex Altenburger, Grant Altenburger, Luke Wessell and Nya Wessell and a brother: Jerry (Jan) Wessell of Delphos.
            Ronald retired as director of utilities with the Village of Ottoville.  He had owned and operated Wessell TV & Appliance in Ottoville and also had worked for Ottoville Hardware & Furniture Company.
            He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville where he had been a commentator; he was a US Army Veteran; member of the Ottoville Lions Club where he was twice past president; a social member of Ottoville VFW; an amateur ham radio operator; graduate of Ottoville High School and received his Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton.  He enjoyed watching his grandsons play basketball and wintering in Florida.  His hobbies included gardening and fishing.
            A Mass of Christian burial will begin 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, with Fr. John Stites officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville, with military rites by the Ottoville VFW.  Visitation will be 2 to 8 pm Tuesday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township (at the corner of US 224 and634) where a scripture will be held at 2:00 p.m.

John A. Beining
John A. Beining, 92, of Ottoville, died 5:15 am Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Vancrest Health Care Center of Delphos, Ohio.  He was born September 19, 1917 in Van Wert County to the late Henry and Mary (Sanders) Beining.  He married Rita Hellman who died 1946.  On September 29, 1973, he married Mari-Lou Beining who survives in Ottoville.
            Other survivors are a daughter, Dr. Heidi (James) Hixson of Green, Ohio; two granddaughters: Alexandra Karen Hixson and Katelyn Mari Hixson; and two brothers, Adolph (Mildred) Beining of Ottoville and Oscar Beining of Delphos.
            He is proceeded in death by two brothers: Melvin and Lawrence Beining; and five sisters: Bertha Kimmet, Martha Noonan, Elinor Kimmet, Veronica Hilvers and Marcella Beining.
            John was a retired farmer.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and a former member of Holy Name Society.
            A Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, with Fr. Caroline E. Maag
Caroline E. Maag, 101, died at 8:25 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bryan, Ohio, after a brief illness.
A native of Ottoville, Ohio, Mrs. Maag worked at the Ottoville Creamery and then cleaned offices for many years at Ohio Art Company in Bryan. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio.
Caroline Elizabeth Maag was born on September 3, 1908, in Ottoville, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph J. and Elizabeth Caroline (Sanders) Klima. She married Clarence E. Maag on February 26, 1930, in Ottoville, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1978.
She is survived by two sons, Leon (Darlene) Maag of Bryan and Franklin (Gale) Maag, West Unity, Ohio; five daughters, Juliana Taylor of Hamler, Ohio, Dorothy Bigger of Bryan, Marie (Phil) Kunkle of Huntington, Indiana, Diana Hicks of Continental, Ohio, and Linda Morningstar, West Unity; and 106 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; three sons, Clarence, Edward and Oscar Maag; one daughter, Carol Jean Cribbs; three grandchildren; and one brother, Joseph Klima.
Visitation for Caroline E. Maag will be held today, June 6, 2010, from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. A scripture service will be held on Sunday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Services will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Reverend Stephen Schroeder officiating. Alice L. Heitmeyer
Alice L. Heitmeyer, 91 of Ottoville died 7:15 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 at Vancrest of Delphos.  She was born November 23, 1918 in Shepherd, MI to the late John H. and Laura (Wischmeyer) Maas.  On May 17, 1947 she married Leo W. Heitmeyer.  He died August 26, 1992.
            She is survived by her seven children:  Mary (Ken) Kelsey of Hilton Head, SC, Bill (Rosie) Heitmeyer of Ottoville, David (Pamela) Heitmeyer of Ottoville, Pat (Mike) Grothause of Fort Jennings, Fred (Mary) Heitmeyer of Kalida, Rick (Diana) Heitmeyer of Toledo, and Sue (Phil) Fuerst of Kalida; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one sister: Ida Clark of Shepherd, MI.
            She is preceded in death by her brothers: John Maas, Jr., Gilbert Maas, Richard Maas, and Cletus Maas, Russell and Rudolph Giesken; and sister: Rita McClintic.
            Mrs. Heitmeyer was a homemaker and had formerly worked at Nichols Meat Market in Ottoville and had also formerly been an underwriter for Auto Owners Insurance for six years in Lansing, MI.  She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville and its Altar Rosary Society.  She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Ottoville.  
            Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, with Father John Stites officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township (on the corner of State Routes 224 and 634) where a Scripture Service will be held at 4 p.m. and a VFW Ladies Auxiliary Service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Thomas H. Korte
Thomas H. Korte, 68, died at 1:20 p.m. June 29, 2010, at VanCrest Healthcare Center, Delphos.
He was born April 23, 1942, in Ottawa to Frank and Marcelle Smith Korte, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Korte had been a deputy sheriff for the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and had been an over-the-road truck driver for several years.
Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Lewis, of Tiffin, and Kandice Howman, of Texas; two sisters, Eileen Kahle, of Columbus Grove, and Ruth Ford, of Continental; a sister-in-law, Ruth Korte, of Ottawa; and three grandchildren, Collin Howman, Kirstie Myers and Edward Myers.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dick, Paul and Clete Korte.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. The Rev. John Stites will officiate.

Cathern M. Miller
Cathern M. Miller, 96, died at 2:15 a.m. July 13, 2010, at Sarah Jane Living Center, Delphos.
She was born Nov. 26, 1913, in Ottoville to Charles and Ann Plescher Perrin, who preceded her in death. She married Eugene Miller, who died in 1996.
Mrs. Miller was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck, where she was a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She enjoyed crocheting and needlework.
Survivors include a son, James (Esther) Miller, of Spencerville; a daughter, Janet (Tom) Klaus, of Landeck; a sister, Mary Grothous, of Kentucky; and several grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.  
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Eileen Penrod; five brothers, Arthur, Lester, Henry “Louis,” Ralph “Budd” and Leo Perrin; and two sisters, Martha Perrin Schnider and Josephine Shaw.
Services will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Harter & Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. Father Melvin Verhoff will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from noon until time of services Thursday at the funeral home, where a CLC service will be held before the service.

Jacob Ryan Heidenescher
Jacob Ryan Heidenescher died at 8:10 p.m. July 26, 2010, shortly after birth at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati.
His parents, Eric and Tiffany A. Baker Heidenescher, survive in Ottoville.
Jacob Ryan has earned his angel wings.
Survivors also include a sister, Elyse Heidenescher, at home; a brother, Alexander Heidenescher, at home; maternal grandfather, Gaylord Baker, of Van Wert; paternal grandparents, Robert and Sally Heidenescher, of Dupont; and three great-grandmothers, six aunts and uncles and six cousins.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Kimberly Baker.
Private graveside services will be held in Resurrection Cemetery, Delphos. Father Charles Obinwa will officiate.

Elizabeth M. Ricker
Elizabeth M. Ricker, 84, died at 6:30 a.m. Aug. 13, 2010, at Vancrest Nursing Home of Delphos, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 15, 1926, in Junction to Thomas and Emma Clark Bullinger Jr., who preceded her in death. On Feb. 12, 1949, she married Rudolph   Ricker, who died July 20, 1972.
            Mrs. Ricker was retired from Philips Display Components, Ottawa. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Altar Rosary. She enjoyed bingo, flowers, gardening and preparing home-cooked chicken dinners. She loved chocolate candy and anything sweet.
               Survivors include two sons, Carl (Monica) Ricker, of Ottoville, and Eugene Ricker, of Cloverdale; two grandchildren, Jason (Sara) Ricker, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kerri Ricker, of Whitehouse; a great-grandson, Josh Ricker; a brother, Rollin Bullinger, of Oakwood; and a sister, MaDonna Amato, of Delphos.  
            She was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard, Raymond, Robert and Russell Bullinger; and three sisters, Margaret Finn, Melvina Meyer and Mary Dizanze.
            Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Father John Stites will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.

Louis B. Odenweller
Louis B. Odenweller, 92 of Lorain passed away on August 19, 2010 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky following a long illness.
Mr. Odenweller was born in Ottoville, Ohio on December 9, 1917, the son of the late Louis M and Lelah M (nee Ridenour) Odenweller. He was a graduate of Delphos-St. John High School and the Ohio State University with a bachelor of science degree. He was also a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
He was a decorated veteran of the US Army, 102nd Infantry, serving during WW II. He received the American Defense Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, with 2 Silver Stars and 2 Bronze Stars, the Ranger Patch and the Distinguished Service Cross. He took great pride in serving God, his family, his country and his community.
He was a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church in Amherst, served as an Elder and taught Sunday School. He was a member of the Lorain Exchange Club and the Lorain Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Odenweller was the chief sanitation for the Lorain Municipal Health Board retiring in 1981. He also taught an environmental health course at Lorain Community College.
His favorite hobbies were spending time with his family and friends. It was very important to him to have time to spend with his beloved late sister and her husband Dorothy and Dougan Christie and their late son Dick Christie.
He cherished sharing many special moments with his beloved wife Janice “Janie” (nee Zemer) and their two children, son, Chris Odenweller of Lorain and daughter Lynn and her husband John Kuhn of Canfield. He especially enjoyed his time with his granddaughter Lindsay Kuhn. He shared his love of nature with his family by spending time in the out-of-doors. They hiked, cooked in the woods, gardened, camped, spent time on the East Harbor Beach and doing yard work. He loved reading, education, music and the arts. He had a passion for Ohio State Football and many other sports and sporting events. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Dr. James Zemer of Arizona.
In addition to his parents, sister, brother-in-law and nephew, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jack Zemer.
A memorial services is being held on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at 11:00 am in the Heritage Presbyterian Church, 515 N. Leavitt Road in Amherst with Rev. James Smucker, pastor, officiating.
Burial, with full military honors provided jointly by The American Legion Post 30 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 451 was done previously in the Ridge Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.

Irene Frances Vorhees, 91, died at 2:45 a.m. Aug. 20, 2010, at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
            She was born June 25, 1919, in Ottoville to Ferdinand and Mary Becker Unterbrink, who preceded her in death. She married Albert “Bud” C. Vorhees, who preceded her in death.
            Mrs. Vorhees was a graduate of Ottoville High School and retired from R.G. Dunn Corp., Lima. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Women of the Moose.
               Survivors include a sister-in-law, Ann Unterbrink, of Kentucky; daughter, Sharon Ricker, of Westerville; a son, Donald (Susan), and a step-granddaughter, Payton, of Lima; a granddaughter, Michelle Ricker (Danny Brown), a grandson, Gregory (Leslie) Ricker, and two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Melissa Ricker, all of North Carolina; and special friends Bill and Joan Ellerbrock.
            She was preceded in death by two brothers and sisters in-law, Robert (Judith) and Roman (Helen) Unterbrink, of Kentucky; a sister, Mary Jane (Roland) Vanderford, of Arizona; a daughter, Jacqueline; a son-in-law, Howard Ricker; and a granddaughter, Georgeanne Ricker.

Raymond E. Bigelow
Raymond E. Bigelow Sr., 78, died at 1:46 p.m. Sept. 7, 2010, at his residence. He was born July 9, 1932, in Ottoville to Hilary   “Buck” and Coletta Kehres Bigelow, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Bigelow attended various Catholic churches. He was a   welder with Wenn Reese, retiring in 1977. He previously worked 14 years as a truck driver for Fruehauf Trailers. He served in the Korean War. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, Lima, and the Cootie Pup Tent 6. He served on the post’s firing squad detail for many years. He was a member of American Legion Post 96, Lima, and AMVETS Post 1. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370.
Survivors include four sons, Raymond E. (Julie) Bigelow, of St. Mary’s, Arnold W. (Marie) Bigelow, of Wapakoneta, Rick Lee Bigelow, of Lima, and Richard A. Bigelow, of Waynesfield; two daughters, Genieva (Jim) Herbst, of Wapakoneta, and Barbara Ann (Mike) Bowers, of Van Wert; two brothers, Ron Bigelow, of Reserve, La., and Paul Bigelow, of Minnesota; a sister, Jane Bridgeman, of Van Wert; and 20 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger and Bob Bigelow.

Pauline A. Schnipke, 84, died at 5:30 a.m. Sept. 8, 2010, at the Meadows of Kalida, Kalida.
She was born Feb. 5, 1926, in Kalida to Stephen and Magdelina   Korte Wehri, who preceded her in death. On June 18, 1947, she married Leonard H. Schnipke Sr., who died April 14, 2000.  
Mrs. Schnipke was cofounder of Schnipke Engraving, Ottoville, along with her husband. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Rosary Altar Society. Her family was very important to her; she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include seven children, Eileen “Ellie” (William “Bill”) Halter, of Indian Lake, Donald (Karen) Schnipke, of Cloverdale, Alvera (Dan) Miller, of St. Henry, and Ronald (Jane) Schnipke, Lenora (Paul) Ball, Dolores “De” (Eric) Johnson and Leonard (Lynda) Schnipke Jr., all of Ottoville; two brothers, Alfred Wehri, of Kalida, and Joseph (Mary) Wehri, of Ottoville; a sister, Marie Becker, of Kalida; three sisters-in-law, Cindy Wehri, of Kalida, Helen Wehri, of Fort Jennings, and Patricia (Jim) Martin, of Ottoville; a brother-in-law,   Kenneth (Mary) Schnipke, of Delphos; and 15 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 15 step-great-grandchildren.

Orville Friemoth
Orville Friemoth, age 86, of Adrian died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Foundation Park Care Center in Toledo.
He was born Sept. 14, 1924, in Ottoville, Ohio, to Theodore J. and Teresa M. (Landwehr) Friemoth. He married Jewell Miller on June 18, 1955, and she preceded him in death on July 18, 1992. He married Phyllis Vesperman on Feb. 27, 1993, and she survives.
Orville worked for the Duke Piotter Grocery Store as a meat cutter for 26 years, and then he became an agent for the Washington National Insurance Company for 26 years. He was a lifelong member of the DAV. He was a member of the New Hope Tabernacle Church and the Adrian Men’s Garden Club. He loved to garden.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis, he is survived by one daughter, Brenda (Mike) Tremain of Traverse City; one son, David (Rosemary) Friemoth of Adrian; two brothers, Edwin Friemoth of Clayton and Hubert Friemoth of Delphos, Ohio; two sisters, Marie Musgrave of Clayton and Rita Heidenescher of Adrian; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Paullette Isabel; a grandson, Jeff Rondo; his previous wife, Jewell; two brothers, Arthur Friemoth and Elmer Friemoth; and one sister, Sue Tesnow.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, Adrian, with Pastor Ron Brown and Pastor Nelson Bennett officiating. Michael A. Langhals
Michael Anthony Langhals, 66, died at 12:40 a.m. Oct. 12, 2010, at his residence. He was born May 10, 1944, in   Cloverdale to Anthony and Marie Wurth Langhals, who preceded him in death. On June 18, 1966, he married   Diane Altenburger, who survives in Ottoville. They were married for 44 years.
Mr. Langhals had a true love of the land. He enjoyed farming with family and hunting with friends. He was a retail sales manager and retired from KOVA of Ohio. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. He was a member of The Ohio State University Alumni Club, Pheasants Forever, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 471, Delphos, and the Knights of Columbus, Ottoville. He served on the founding board of the Putnam County YMCA and served on the Ottoville Mutual Telephone Co. and Paulding Putnam Rural Electric.  
He treasured his faith, family and friends, first and foremost. He was a loving husband and father. His work ethic, character and integrity helped define him. He was one of the most loyal souls around. Once he was your friend, you had a friend for life. Friends, new and old, were precious to him.
He began his family’s tradition of graduates from The Ohio State University. His wife, children, son-in-law and daughters-in-law followed suit. The same grit that helped him become his family’s first college graduate also helped him “Livestrong” for nearly six years after his cancer diagnosis. OSU proved to be his partner again as his care was spearheaded by Dr. Ahmed Ghany and the oncology staff at OSU JamesCare East, Columbus. Dr. David Geller, University of Pittsburgh   Medical Center, was his caring surgeon and friend.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Father John Stites will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ottoville.  
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, where a Scripture service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Frances C. Vorst

Frances Camille Donston Vorst, 71, died at 2:25 p.m. Nov. 2, 2010, at her residence, surrounded by her family.  
She was born May 19, 1939, in Wheeling, W.Va., to Ralph and Agnes Gray Donston, who preceded her in death. Her loving companion of 25 years, Tom Vorst, survives in Ottoville.
Mrs. Vorst was a homemaker. She had been a teacher’s aide in the reading lab and a school bus driver for Ottawa-Glandorf schools. She was a 1957 graduate of West Alexander High School, West Alexander, Pa., where she was the valedictorian. She enjoyed fishing, country music, traveling and spending winters in Mexico and Florida.
Survivors also include two children, Jeffrey (Lois) Hertig, of Indian Lake, and Melissa (Allen) Moore, of Ottoville; twin granddaughters, Brooke and Taylor Moore, both of Ottoville; two stepgrandsons, Ben and Rick Gerding, both of Kalida; four step-great-grandchildren, Bryce, Tori and Jonah Gerding, all of Kalida, and Dylan Gerding, of Ottoville; a brother, David (Carol) Donston, of Claysville, Pa.; a niece, Heather (Eric) Heimberger, of Claysville, Pa.; extended family, Cathy (Don) Kenny, of Waterville, Mark (Lisa) Vorst and family, of Ottoville, Diane (Bill) Sturt and family, of Waterville, and Dan (Mary) Vorst and family and the family of Doug Vorst, all of Ottoville.
She was preceded in death by a nephew, Eric Donston; and extended family member, Doug Vorst.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Father John Stites will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ottoville.

Delores B. Schimmoeller
Delores B. Schimmoeller, 78, died at 8:50 p.m. Nov. 6, 2010, at Sara Jane Living Center, Delphos. She was   born Aug. 1, 1932, in Glandorf to John and Mary Rosenbauer Hermiller, who preceded her in death. On June 13, 1953, she married Arthur C. Schimmoeller, who survives in Ottoville.
            Mrs. Schimmoeller was the head cook at Ottoville Local School District for many years. She was also a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and the Ottoville Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She loved golf and playing cards with her family.  
               Survivors also include eight children, Dianne (Steve) Carlisle, of Indianapolis, Cheryl (David) Kleman, Jeff (Elaine) Schimmoeller, Kevin Schimmoeller and Lori (Mark) Laudick, all of Ottoville, Doug (Heidi) Schimmoeller, of Bryan, Scott (Kelly) Schimmoeller of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Brian Schimmoeller of Hilliard; 18 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter who was born on Delores’ birthday; five brothers, Laverne Hermiller, of Pandora, Arthur Hermiller, of Ottoville, Carl Hermiller, of Ottawa, John Hermiller, and Dennis Hermiller both of Glandorf; and four sisters, Florence Schroeder, of Leipsic, twin Doris Liebrecht, of Glandorf, Margaret Schimmoeller, of Glandorf, and Donna Utrup, of Arizona.  
            She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilfred Hermiller, Richard Hermiller and Harold Hermiller; and three sisters: Genevieve Rosengarten, Mary Ann Hermiller and Joyce Hermiller.
            Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. The Rev. John Stites will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.
            Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township (on the corner of U.S. Route 224 and U.S. Route 634) where a Scripture service will begin at 2 p.m.

Rosemary A. Klaus
Rosemary A. Klaus, 94, died at 7:25 p.m. Nov. 7, 2010, at Roselawn Manor Nursing Home, Spencerville. She was born May 29, 1916, in Ottoville to Frank   and Katherine Giesken Vincke, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 9, 1954, she married Frank A. Klaus, who preceded her in death.
            Mrs. Klaus   was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Landeck, and its Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She enjoyed quilting, embroidering and gardening.
               Survivors include four stepsons, Thomas (Janet) Klaus, of Delphos, Howard (Eileen) Klaus, of Venedocia, Edward (Therese) Klaus, of Delphos, and Keith (Peggy) Klaus, of Connecticut; four sisters, Sister Josephine Vincke, of Idaho, and Willie Eickholt, Theresa Mahoney and Margaret Emmendorfer, all of Michigan; a stepson-in-law, John Giesken, of Delphos; a stepdaughter-in-law, Lea Klaus, of Delphos; and two sisters-in-law, Faye Vincke and Ilda Vincke, both of Michigan; and 23 step-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren and several step-great-great-grandchildren.
            She was preceded in death by a stepson, Charles F. Klaus; two stepdaughters, Pat (George) Brandehoff and Clara Giesken; three sisters, Beatrice, Catherine and Sister Geneieve Vincke; two brothers, Henry “Harry” and Herman Vincke; a stepgrandson, Rodney Klaus; a stepgreat-grandson, Matthew Ryan Klaus; three brothers-in-law, Donald Mahoney, Fred Eickholt and Cleo Emmendorfer; and the mother of her stepchildren, Helen Freund, who died in November 1949.
