Anna Krieger
Anna Krieger, 84, died at the Hubbard Nursing Home, Grover Hill, Friday.
Born Oct. 17, 1884 in Ottoville, she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna Vogt Horstman. Her husband Matt, preceded her in death.
Surviving are a grandson, Cornelius Kleman Jr. of Cridersville, a brother Joseph Horstman and a sister, Mrs. Christine Flaeming, both of Cloverdale.
She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society.
Requiem High Mass will be offered 10 a.m. Monday at the church by Rev. Virgil Riedlinger. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville. Friends may call at the Kolkmeyer Funeral Home at Ottoville after 7 tonight, where the Rosary will be recited 8 p.m. Sunday.

Aloysius B. Haselman
Aloysius B. Haselman, 44, Rt. 2, Cloverdale, died in his home at 12:45 a.m. Saturday after an extended illness.
Born Oct. 6, 1924, In Ottoville, he was the son of Joseph and Laura Hamburg Haselman. His mother, with whom he resided, also surviving is a sister, Mrs. James (Mary) Klausing, Fort Jennings.
A farmer, Mr. Haselman was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church here, where Requiem High Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday by Rev. Louis Huffman. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at Kolkmeyer Funeral Home until time for services.

Verena A. Ruen
            Verena Ann Ruen, 64, of Ottoville, died early Thursday morning in Lima St. Rita’s Hospital. She had been seriously ill for six weeks.
            She was born in Ottoville on September 1, 1904, the daughter of Frank and Mary Shirack Grubenhoff. She was married to Albert Ruen on March 5, 1935 and he survives.
            Mrs. Ruen is also survived by one son, Robert, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Grote, Kalida; and four grandchildren.
            She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, and the VFW Auxiliary.
            Requiem High Mass was offered Monday by the Rev. Louis Huffman with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Frank Helmich
            Frank Helmich, 80, of Ottoville, died Friday at 8 a.m. after an illness of two months.
            He was the son of John and Elizabeth Brinkman Helmich and was born in Van Wert County on November 17, 1888. He was not married.

            He is survived by one brother, Mathew, of the Allen County Home and nieces and nephews.
            He served with the Medical Corps during World War I. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society VFW Post 374 and was a retired farmer.
            Requiem High Mass was offered in the church by Rev Louis Huffman with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Catherine Margaret Gasser
Mrs. Catherine Gasser, 77, of Ottoville, died at 4:05 p.m. Monday in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima. She was born in Ottoville, March 18, 1892, to William and Margaret Studer Burgei. She was married in Ottoville on April 29, 1914, to Frank Gasser and he survives.
            Surviving also are three daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Barbara) Kramer and Mrs. Bernard (Marie) Gerdeman, both of Ottoville; Mrs. John (Felicitas) Kill of Delphos; seven sons, Edwin, Arnold, Jerome and Eugene, all of Ottoville; Carl and Joseph of Ft. Jennings; and Frank of Delphos; three sisters, Mrs. Adolph (Clara) Rahrig, Delphos, Miss Caroline Burgei Delphos Memorial Home; Mrs. Sophie Hugel, Landeck; three brothers, Jacob Burgei, Ottoville; Joseph Burgei, Florida; 44 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
            Mrs. Gasser was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Alter Rosary Society. Services will be in the church at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Louis Huffman officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery, Ottoville.
            Friends may call at Kolkmeyer Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. today, Thursday.

Albert Weber
Albert J. Weber, 74, resident of Delphos in recent years, died at 6:10 Thursday evening of last week in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima, following a serious illness of one week.
            He was born in Ottoville on February 22, 1895, the son of Joseph and Catherine Kiefer Weber. He was married to Regina Smith on January 17, 1917.
            Surviving with his widow are three sons, Eugene and Robert, of Delphos, and Joseph Weber, Ottawa; five daughters, Mrs. Richard (Luella) Barkimer, of Lima; Mrs. Francis (Madonna) Reinemeyer, Mrs. Thomas (Helen) Jeddings, Mrs. Donald (June) Link and Mrs. Eugene (Colletts) Schram, of Ottawa; 46 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Harley (Ida) Keller, of Swanton, and Mrs. Mathilda Eickholt, of Ottoville. A daughter preceded him in death.
            A retired mechanic, Mr. Weber was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos and the Catholic Knights of Ohio.
            Services were held in the church at 10 a.m. Monday morning. The Rev. Albert Ottenweller officiated. Burial was made in the St. Mary's cemetery, Ottoville.

Louise T. Lehmkuhl
Mrs. Louise T. Lehmkuhle, 83, of 1205 Northwold, died 8 a.m. today in St. Rita's
Hospital.
Born Dec. 12, 1885, in Ottoville, she was the daughter of Henry and Anna Schulte Mittelkamp. She was married to Paul Lehmkuhle, who died in 1919.
She was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church, its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia Branch 30 of Ottoville.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John (Elvira) Rentz of 1065 W. Market, Mrs. William (Rita) Kruskamp of Dayton, and Mrs. Harry (Marie) Grothaus of 1205 Northwold; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Requiem High Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, Rev. Raymond Boesch, celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
The Altar Rosary Society will recite the Rosary 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 tonight.

Urban F. Wannemacher
            Urban Wannemacher, 77, retired Ottoville plumber, died in Paulding County Hospital, Paulding, at 11 p.m. Tuesday night following an illness of three weeks.
            He was born at Ottoville, a son of Joseph and Anna Snyder Wannemacher and had lived in that village all his life. He was married to Fannie Rekart on October 27, 1915 and she preceded him in death on July 9, 1957.
            Surviving are four sons, Thomas, Stanley, Jack and Maurice Wannemacher, all of Ottoville; a daughter, Mrs. Edmund (Connie) Osting, of Ft. Jennings; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; three sisters, Sister Antoinette, of Maria Stein; Mrs. Al (Margaret) Keafer, of Abbotsford, Wis., and Mrs. George (Fannie) Auer, of Cleveland.
            Mr. Wannemacher was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where services will be held at 10 o’clock Friday morning. The Rev. Louis Huffman will officiate. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.
            Friends may call at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Ottoville until time of services.

Agnes T. Hoehn
            Services for Mrs. Agnes T. Hoehn, 39, of route 1, Cloverdale, were held Wednesday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville. Mrs. Hoehn died at her home, after a serious illness of two weeks.
            She was born September 17, 1929, and was the daughter of Frank and Clara Birkemeier Hanneman. She married Walter Hoehn in 1950 and he survives.
            Also surviving are children, Ruth, Linda, Edward, Diane, Steven, Michael, Mary and Timothy, all at home; sisters, Mrs. John Gerten, Leipsic; Mrs. Cornelius Balbaugh, Ottawa and Mrs. William Schnipke, Kalida; brothers, Sylvester and Joseph, Kalida; and Francis, Thomas and Robert, of Ottawa.
            Mrs. Hoehn was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rosary Alter Society and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
            The Rev. Louis Huffman officiated at the services with burial in the church cemetery.

Alfreda M. Hemgesberg
            Hemgesberg, Mrs. Alfreda M., 6700 Ditch Road, Chesaning, Michigan. Passed away Friday at Owoso Memorial Hospital. Age 48 years.
Alfreda Gasser was born March 6, 1921, in Cloverdale, Ohio, and lived in Chesaning most of her life. She was married to Louis Hemgesberg in 1940 in Chesaning. He passed away in 1953.
She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic church, Maple Grove, and its Alter Rosary Society.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Palko and Mrs. Shirley Dunbar, both of Chesaning; Gerald and Louis Hemgesberg, at home; six grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Gasser, Chesaning; four brothers and one sister, Harold, Urban, Wilfred and Clarence Gasser and Mrs. Patricia Meyer, all of Chesaning.
Funeral service will take place 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Maple Grove. Rev. Fr. Joseph Schabel will officiate with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home, Chesaning, after 1 p.m. Sunday, where they will meet with relatives 8 p.m. Monday to say the Rosary.
Those who so desire may give memorials to the American Cancer Society.

Joseph J. Etgen
Joseph J. Etgen, 80, of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., died 7:35 a.m. Saturday at C. Howard Marcy State TB Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was ill four months.
Born Nov. 24, 1888, near Ottoville, he was the son of Mathias and Mary Sutter Etgen. He was married Aug. 10, 1910, here, to the former Loretta Wieging, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Alvera Ehrnsberger of Toledo and Velma Etgen of here; one son, Leroy of West Palm Beach, Fla., three grandchildren, six great - grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Schmelzer and Edith Etgen, both of Delphos, and two brothers, Mathias of Delphos and Leo of Port Clinton.
He was a retired salesman and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, here. Services are incomplete at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Delphos. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, here.

Theresa Herman
Theresa Herman, 68, of Rt. 1, Cloverdale, died 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima, following a nine-month illness.
Born April 14, 1901, in Ottoville, she was a daughter of Fred and Martina Gasser Ruen. She was married April 13, 1932, in Ottoville to Edwin Herman, and he survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Sister Rita of the Sisters of the Previous Blood, Fort Wayne, Mrs. William (Edna) Greeley and Mrs. Richard (Frances) Rhine, both of Lima; five sons, Leo, Donald, Carl, and John, all of Ottoville, and Ralph of Ottawa; and 21 grandchildren.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Ottoville and its Altar-Rosary Society.
Requiem High Mass will be offered 10 a.m. Friday in the church by Msgr. Louis Huffman. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Leo G. Martin
Leo (Lee) G. Martin, 54, route 2, Delphos, died in his home Tuesday at 7 a.m.
He was the son of Henry and Johanna Brinkman Martin and was born in Ottoville on February 1, 1915. He was married to Zita Rode on October 21, 1937.
Surviving with his widow are three sons, James and Dean, both of Lima, and Philip, of Delphos; four daughters, Mary, Lisa, Laura and Ellen, all at home; four grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Albert (Hilda) Grothouse, Mrs. Lawrence (Gertrude) Eller, Mrs. James (Flo) Cooley, all of Delphos, and Mrs. Eldon (Dorothy) Kendall of Lima; and two brothers, Walter and William, both of Lima.
Mr. Martin was a member of the St. John’s Catholic Church and the CK of O of Landeck.
Funeral services were held Monday at 10 a.m. in the church by Msgr. Albert Ottenweller. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery.

Florence Wiechart
Florence Wiechart, 63, died 8:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima, following a heart attack at her home here.
She was born July 6, 1906, the daughter of Charles and Catherine Cramer Horstman. She was married Oct. 19, 1927, to Alex J. Wiechart. He died June 23, 1967.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Henry(Mary Catherine) Kemper of Ottoville and Mrs. Richard Wurth of Kalida: a son, Norman of Fort Jennings; 19 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Edward (Regina) O'Neil of Lima: and a brother, Leonard Horstman of Delphos.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Catholic Ladies of Columbia and Leatherwood Garden Club.

Mrs. Gertrude Waxler, 63, of 804 Fairview, Englewood, died 2 p.m. Saturday in her home following an extended illness.

Born March 8, 1906, in Van Wert County, she was a member of Emanuel Catholic Church, Dayton.
Survivors include her husband, Walter; two sisters, Mrs. Marcella Blankemeyer of Cloverdale and Mrs. Margaret Heck of here and two brothers, Edwin Rekert of South Gate. Mich, and Harold Rekart of Chicago, Ill.
Requiem High Mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, here by Rev. Louis Huffman, burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Albert J. Deitering
Albert Joseph Deitering, 67, of Coldwater, Michigan, died at 2:30 p.m. in a Battle Creek hospital, following an extended illness. He was a former resident of Ottoville.
            He was the son of Henry and Catherine Beining Deitering and was born in Ottoville on August 21, 1902. On March 4, 1924, he was married to Emelia Mary Brickner and she survives him.
            He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Clara Koester and Mrs. Isadore (Florence) Miller, both of Ottoville and three brothers, John of Portland, Oregon and Rudy and Leo, both of Ottoville.
            The Rev. Louis Huffman will offer Requiem High Mass at 10 a.m. Friday in the church. Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery at Ottoville. The parish rosary will be recited today, Thursday at 8 p.m.

Elmer L. Bendele
            Elmer L. Bendele, 48, resident of route 2, Ft. Jennings, and farmer of the Ottoville community, died unexpectedly at his home at 8:30 Tuesday morning.
            He was born at Ottoville on January 14, 1921, a son of Andrew and Mathilda Sanders Bendele. He was married to Alice Weaver at Delphos on June 10 1950.
            Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Linda and Barbara, both at home; three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Marcella) Ankenbruch, Ft. Wayne; Mrs. Albert (Alma) Warniment, Kalida, and Mrs. Paul (Mildred) Nuttle, of New Haven, Ind.; and three brothers, Edward, N and Hubert Bendele, all of Ottoville. A brother Fred is deceased.
            Mr. Bendele was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Ottoville, where funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock Saturday morning. The Rev. Louis Huffman will officiate. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.
            Friends may call at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Ottoville until time for services. The parish rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Friday.

Albert M. Ruen
Albert M. Ruen, 56, 10:15 p.m. Rita's Hospital, Lima, following a three-week illness.
He was born Feb. 11, 1913, in this village, the son of Henry and Mary Reifers Ruen. He was married to Verena Grubenhoff on March 5, 1935. She died April 24, 1969.
Surviving are a son, Robert, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Grote of Kalida; six grandchildren, and four sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Mary) Falke of Delphos, Mrs. Fred (Clara) Brinkman of Lima, Mrs. Frances Welke of Cleveland and Mrs. George (Henrietta) King of Ottoville.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Catholic Knights of Ohio and a World War II veteran. He was formerly employed as a brick mason.
Requiem High Mass will be Saturday by Rev. Louis Huffman. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.
Friends may call at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Ottoville, after 7 tonight. Parish Rosary will be recited at the funeral home 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Bertha S. Wannemacher
Bertha S. Wannemacher, 74, of Rt. 2, Ft. Jennings, died at 12:25 p.m. Friday in Lima St. Rita’s Hospital. She had been ill for one month.
Born Jan. 12, 1895, here, she was the daughter of Henry and Katherine Kemper Biedenharn. She was married June 7, 1916 to Albert C. Wannemacher. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Howard of Dayton; three daughters, Miss Irene Wannemacher of Lima, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Kleman of Fort Jennings and Mrs. Vernon (Sharon) Rode of Vandalia: seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. William (Elvina) Soll of Sarasota, Fla.; three brothers, Edmund of Lima, Gilbert of Scranton, Pa., and Oscar of Detroit.
She was a member of the Ottoville Altar Society and VFW Auxiliary, the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Requiem High Mass will be offered 10 a.m. Monday in the church by Rev. Louis Huffman.

Sigmund A. Rekart

            Sigmund A. Rekart, 72, of Delphos, was buried on Saturday following his death at 8:30 a.m. last Wednesday in his home.
            Born in Ottoville on March 11, 1897, he was the son of William and Nora Kroemer Rekart.
            He is survived by a brother, Ralph of Toledo, and a sister, Mrs. Amelia DeNauro, of Oxdord, New York.
            Mr. Rekart was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a retired employee of the New Delphos Manufacturing Company.
            The Rev. Albert Ottenweller offered Requiem High Mass at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in St. John’s Catholic Church. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

Laura Miller
            Mrs. Laura Miller, 79, a former resident of Ottoville, died in Siena Home, Dayton, at 11 o’clock Monday morning, following an illness of two weeks.
            She was born at Landeck on December 31, 1899, a daughter of John and Mary Thines. She was married in Ottoville in 1911 to Frank J. (Shorty) Miller, who preceded her in death on August 11, 1957. She moved from Ottoville to Dayton in 1963.
            Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Wilbur (Mildred) Wurst, Dayton; Mrs. Harry D. (Marie) Rogers, Columbus; Mrs. William (Corinne) Lauer, Dayton; Mrs. Milan (Marilyn) Miles, Dayton; two sons, Jerome J., Lima and Brother Christopher (Arthur) of Pass Christian, Miss.; 13 grandchildren, and a brother, John Thines, of Ottoville.
            Mrs. Miller was a member of the Precious Blood Catholic Church, Dayton, and the Rosary Alter Society of the parish.
            Services were held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville 11 o’clock this forenoon, Thursday. The Rev. Louis Huffman officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Peter Etgen
Wapakoneta – Requiem High Mass for Peter Etgen, 79, of 407 South, will be offered 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church by Rev. Clement Ault. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. He died 8:30 p.m. Saturday at his home following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 28, 1890, in Ottoville, the son of Peter and Clara Brinkman Etgen. He married Essie Marie Searrels in 1911, and she died in 1917. On Nov. 25, 1919, he married Cleola Roth, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Leon of Rt. 1, Cardington, and LeRoy of Rt. 1. New
Knoxville; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Geneva) Howell of Piqua, and Mrs. Don (Bernetta) Fredericks of Chattsworth, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren; two brothers, Benjamin of Delphos, and Lewis of Rt. 1, Lima; and three sisters, Mrs. Clem Klausing and Mrs. Alex Schweitzer, both of Wapakoneta, and Mrs. Lena Carter of Michigan.
A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society, he was a retired farmer.
Friends may call after 7 tonight at Heinl and Son Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Katherine E. Rupley
Funeral services for Mrs. Ernest (Catherine Elizabeth) Rupley Sr. have bad set for Wednesday 11 AM at the Sacred Heart church in Hudson with Fr. G. R. Loewen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Hudson. This is Rupley died Sunday at the age of 70.
She was born in Ottoville, Ohio on July 9, 1899, the daughter of Henry and Catherine Wehri Landwehr and had lived in Hudson until six years ago.
She married Ernest Ripley Sr. on July 7, 1920 and he survives, as does a daughter, Mrs. Martha Kelly of Florence, Wisconsin; three sons, Ernest Jr. of Adrian, Francis and William, both of Hudson; three sisters, Mrs. William Siefker of Delphos, Ohio, Mrs. Ann Koenig of Leipsic, Ohio and Mrs. Elizabeth Koenig of Adrian; four brothers, Charles and William, both of Delphos, Ohio and Henry and John, both of Ottoville and 20 grandchildren.
The rosary will be said this evening at the funeral home beginning at 7:30.

Mary J. Ockuly
Mrs. Mary Ockuly, 86, a former Delphos resident, died 10 a.m. Thursday in a Toledo hospital.
Born Aug. 2, 1883, in Ottoville, she was the daughter of John J. and Mary Miller. She was married to Dr. J. F. Ockuly, who died in 1963.
Surviving are a sister, Miss Margaret Miller of Ottoville; four sons, Drs. Eugene, Edward and John of Toledo, and Dr. Orville of St. Paul, Minn.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Requiem High Mass will be offered 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Jesu Catholic Church, Toledo, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Elizabeth A. Miller
Elizabeth A. Miller, 74, of here, died 7:10 a.m. Saturday in a Toledo hospital. Born Dec. 17, 1894, here, she was the daughter of Daniel and Barbara Ringlein Miller.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ida Crowley and Miss Catherine Miller, both of Toledo; and a brother, Peter D. Miller of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Requiem High Mass will be offered in the church 10:30 a.m. Tuesday by Rev. Louis Huffman. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home here after 7 tonight where the Parish Rosary will be recited after the evening Mass Monday.
