Rose V. Deitering
Rosa V. Deitering, 89, Ottoville, died on Saturday, January 9, 1999, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Ottawa.
She was born June 18, 1909, to John and Marguriette Murray. On June 22, 1927, she married Leo J. Deitering, and he died December 19, 1978.
Survivors include six sons, Elmer (Sandy) Deitering, Piqua, Herman (Margie) Deitering. Troy, Thomas (Mary Ann) Deitering, New Cleveland, John (Sherry) Deitering, Sidney, Daniel (Marita) Deitering, Maumee, and Leo (Shirley) Deitering, Baltimore, MD; a daughter, Mary Lee Laudick, Upper Sandusky; 41 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Gerald (Ruth) Murray, Southgate, MI; and one sister, Dorothy (Ralph) Renner. Kettering.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Roger and William Deitering; a foster daughter, Marguriette Wolford; three sisters, Christina Schmitt, Lauretta Deitering Braswell, and Wanda Gerding; and four brothers, John, Andrew, Oliver, and William Murray.
Mrs. Deitering was a local news reporter for the Putnam County Sentinel, the Delphos Herald, the C.L. of C. Index, and a former reporter for The Lima News and The Toledo Blade. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Altar Rosary Society. She was a charter member and past president of the Ottoville C.L. of C., a member of the Ottoville Senior Citizens, where she served as
secretary, the chaplain of the Ottoville V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Delphos F.O. E. Auxiliary, and a volunteer at Paradise Oaks Nursing Home, Cloverdale.
Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Father Sylvan Obergefell officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Clarence G. Huysman
Clarence G. Huysman, 76, died at 7 a.m. Jan. 13, 1999, at the Lima Convalescent Home.
He was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Ottoville to Earl and Beatrice Carter Huysman. He married Marie Schnipke, who died Dec. 29, 1987.
Mr. Huysman retired in 1985 as an electrician from the Ford Lima Engine Plant. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 54, American Legion Post 96, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and Knights of Columbus 2661.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen Sue (Jim) Kanode of Ada, Gamett Ann (Fred) Heer of Fmdlay and Patricia Marie (Ron) Chapman of Lima; five brothers, Eugene Huysman, Ralph Huysman, Fred Huysman and Jim Huysman, all of Lima, and Bob Huysman of Washington Court House; four sisters, Betty Yant of Bluffton, and Carol Kohl, Joyce Kohl and Phyllis Cloyd, all of Lima; four grandchildren and a great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Kay Jay.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Gerard Catholic Church. The Revs. Vincent Hoying and Denis Sweeney will offciate.
Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 1275.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Siferd Westwood Chapel, where a parish wake service will be held at 8 p.m.

Wilfred J. Maag
Businessman Served as Ottoville Mayor
Wilfred J. "Bill" Maag, 81, of Ottoville died 4:01 p.m. Jan. 13 at St. Rita's Medical Center.
Mr. Maag was a self-employed butcher. He was owner-operator of Kalida IGA for over 35 years with Marge Trenkamp co-owner during the first 25 years. He was a former mayor of Ottoville and was founder of men's fast pitch softball in Ottoville. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville.
He was born June 25, 1917, in Leipsic to Charles and Anna (Kuhlman) Maag. He married Jayne Katherine Niedecken, who died Sept. 15, 1992.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce C. (Shirley) Maag of Elida and Tim J. (Debra) Maag of Ottoville; three daughters, Deb (Richard) Jacobs of Elida, Shari (Greg) McMillen of Cridersville and Robin (Rick) Wurth of Kalida; four brothers, Paul Maag, Kenny (Alma Jean) Maag, Harold Maag and Carl (Margaret) Maag; two sisters, Alice Neise and Dorothy (Paul) Wagner; and 13 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Maag.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, Ottoville. The Rev. Sylvan Obergefell will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ottoville.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Saturday and 2-9 p.m. Sunday at Harter and Son Funeral Home, where a parish wake will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Angela M. Bendele
Angela M. Bendele, 83, Ottoville, died at 3:15 a.m. on Wednesday February 24, 1999, at Vancrest Nursing Home, Delphos.
She was born December 7, 1915, in Cloverdale, to Herman and Elizabeth (Wolke) Horstman.
On July 4, 1938, she married Marvin Wannemacher, and he died July 3, 1954. She then married John Bendele on November 8, 1958, and he died June 22, 1978.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Barb) Wannemacher, Kalida, and John C. (Irene) Wannemacher, Delphos; one daughter, Joyce (Jim) Miehls, Ft. Jennings:
one stepson, Don L. (Judy) Bendele, Kalida: three stepdaughters, Janie (John)
Miller, Centerville. Sharon (Irvin) Schroeder, Columbus Grove and Doris Bendele, Ottawa: 20 grandchildren: one great-grandchild: and one sister. Lolly (Virgil)
Gerschutz. Leipsic.
She was preceded in death by a stepson: two grandchildren: seven brothers; and a sister.
Mrs. Bendele was a homemaker and a clerk for Miller's Super Value Market in Ottoville, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church its Altar Rosary Society and the church choir.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottovllle. Rev. Sylvan Obergefell officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Ottoville.

J. Thomas Trenkamp
Thomas J. Trenkamp, 50, Ottoville, died at 5:21 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born June 18, 1948, in Lima, to John Adolph and Marguerite 'Marge" (Boehmer) Trenkamp. His mother survives in Ottoville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanine Trenkamp: and a brother, Joseph Trenkamp.
Mr. Trenkamp was the former owner of The Double Diamond in Ft. Jennings. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Ottoville.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottovllle. Rev. Sylvan Obergefell officiated. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Ottoville.

David D. Miller
David D. Miller, 44, Auburn, IN, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at DeKalb Memorial Hospital, Auburn, IN.
He was born December 3, 1954, in Van Wert, to Kenneth A. and Dorothy A. (Becker) Miller, and they survive in Ottoville.
Other survivors include one brother, Lester (Lauretta) Miller, Brighton, MI; one sister, Cecelia (Bill) Camp, Castle Rock. CO: paternal grandmother. Gertrude E. Miller, Ottoville; one niece, Cheryl Miller and two nephews, Matthew Miller and Nathan
Camp.
Mr. Miller was a plant engineer at Dalton Foundry, Kendallville, IN for 15 years. He was a 1973 graduate of Ottoville High School and 1978 graduate of Tri-State
University. Angola. IN.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, Ottovile. Rev. Sylvan Obergefell officiated. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Ottoville.

Frank Gasser
Frank O. Gasser, 65, of Ottoville died 9:30 a.m. March 11 at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 9, 1933, in Ottoville to Frank and Catherine (Burgei) Gasser. On Sept. 9, 1961, he married Nancy L. Miller, who survives in Ottoville.
Other survivors include two daughters, Evelyn M. "Evie" (Doug) Williard of Canal Winchester and Bonnie C. Fritz of Van Wert; a brother, Eugene Gasser of Ottoville; two sisters, Felicitas "'Woody" Kill of Delphos and Marie Gerdeman, of Olttoville; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rosemary Gasser; five brothers, Edwin, Carl, Joseph, Arnold, and Jerome Gasser; and a sister, Barbara Kramer.
Mr. Gasser retired from General Motors in Defiance. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. He was an Army veteran serving from 1956-58.
Mass of Christian burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Sylvan Obergefell will officiated and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemtery, Ottoville, where graveside military rites will be conducted by Ottoville Veterens of Foreign Wars and Ft. Jennings American Legion.
Friends may call 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp-Orians Funeral Home, Ottoville.

Marcella “Sally” E. Bendele, 83, died at 1:35 p.m. March 30, 1999, at Roselawn Manor Care Center, Spencerville.
She was born Nov. 2, 1915, in Cloverdale to Joseph and Wilhemina Lehmkuhle Miller. On June 28, 1933, she married Norbert F. Bendele, who died May 8, 1992.
Mrs. Bendele was a homemaker and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville.
Survivors include four sons, Alfred (Carolyn) Bendele and Gerald (Sharon) Bendele, both of New Haven, Carl (Frances) Bendele of Pandora and Roger Bendele of Ottoville; four daughters, Ruth (Gebhard) Gasser of Ottoville, Dorothy Ricker and Dolores Austin, both of Spencerville, and Geraldine (Charles) Ricker of Lima; 32 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Bendele; five brothers, Leo, Beno, Edwin, Cyril and Jerome; four sisters, Odelia, Edwina, Sister Pius and Sister Leonissa; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. today at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Sylvan Obergefell will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Ottoville.

Gary Lee Schnipke
Former plant manager/TU graduate
Gary Lee Schnipke, 45, of 2701 Fernwick Drive, South Boston, Va., died Saturday April 17, 1999, in the Halifax Regional Hospital, South Boston.
He was born in Lima Oct. 26, 1953, to Urban and Betty (Ricker) Schnipke. They survive in Cloverdale, Ohio. His wife, Wanda Kay (Halfhill) Schnipke, whom he married April 19, 1980, in the First Lutheran Church, Tiffin, survives.
Survivors also include: a son, Dustin Schnipke, and a daughter, Tiffany Schnipke, both of South Boston; four brothers, David Schnipke of Delphos, Randy and Denny Schnipke, both of Ottoville, Ohio and Dalyn Schnipke of Dixon, Ohio; and three sisters, Kathy Gardner of Michigan, Karen Rieman of Ohio and Connie Schnipke of Cloverdale.
Mr. Schnipke, a graduate of Ottoville High School and Tiffin University, had worked as a plant manager of NHB Industries, Talladega, Ala.
He was a member of St. Paschal Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Chamber of Commerce, all of South Boston.
He also served as treasurer of the Comet Swim Team of South Boston High School and was active in the Literacy Program of South Boston.
The Rev. James K. Say will be the celebrant at the 11 a.m. Friday funeral Mass in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
Visitation at the Turner-Engle Funeral Home will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday until departure to the church.

Alma M. Schnipke, 79, died at 12:04 p.m. April 26, 1999 at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 8, 1920, in Putnam County to Andy W. and Barbara Lehmkuhle Hohlbein. On Aug. 27, 1941, she married Otto B. Schnipke, who died Nov. 20, 1989.
Mrs. Schnipke was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Cloverdale and its Altar Rosary Society and choir. She was a volunteer at Paradise Oaks Nursing Home.
Survivors include five sons, Norbert (Rita) Schnipke and Art (Bernice) Schnipke, both of Ottoville, Bernie (Pearl) Schnipke of Delphos, Ronald (Mary Jo) Schnipke of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Gary (Carolyn) Schnipke of Oakwood; three daughters, Mary Lou (Ron) Rode and Jane Schnipke, both of Delphos, and Cindy (Mark) Selhorst of Colunbus Grove; five brothers, Eugene Hohlbein of Shepherd, Mich., Oscar Hohlbein of Greenville, Ralph Hohlbein of Toledo, John Hohlbein of Delphos and Virgil Hohlbein of Ottoville; 27 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Agnes Schnipke; and a grandchild.

Agnes E. Kehres, 89 died at 3:50 p.m. May 18,1999, at Van Crest Nursing Home, Delphos.
She was born March 13, 1910, in Putnam County to George and Caroline Miller Knippen. She married Ewald Kehres, who died June 22, 1972.
Mrs. Kehres was a homemaker. Survivors include three sons, Carl (Marcile) Kehres of Ottoville, Vincent (Mary Ann) Kehres of Delphos and Dennis (Dianna) Kehres of Kalida; two daghters, Carolyn (Henry) Schmit of Osmond, Neb., and Dorothy (Ronald) Morris of Lima; three brothers, Sylvester Knippen and Joseph Knippen, both of Delphos, and George Knippen of Ottoville; four sisters. Sister Mary Berchmans and Sister Clara, both of Dayton, and Lucille Pohlman and Margaret Hesseling, both of Delphos; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Charles Knippen; and a sister, Sister Vita Knippen.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos. The Rev. Thomas Grorman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Arlene G. Nickey
Arlene G. Nickey, 84, Bowling Green, died Monday, May 24, 1999, at Bowling Green Manor Nursing Home.
She was born March 19, 1915, in Ottoville, to William and Elizabeth (Weber) Gulker. On February 25, 1950, she married Abraham Hays Nickey and he died Jan. 8, 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald O. Nickey, Bowling Green, and Donald O. Nickey, Plain City: five grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Wiley, Delphos, and Marie Malmade, Greenbrier, IN. She was preceded in death by a brother, Orvin Gulker.
Mrs. Nickey was the owner/operator of A.H. Nickey Co. from 1956 to 1986 and executive secretary for City Loan in Lima from 1935 to 1950.
She was a member of St. Aloysius Church, Bowling Green, its Altar and Rosary Society, the Bowling Green Lady El's #818, Greenwood Chapter Order of Eastern Star # 159, and American Legion Auxiliary Post #45 in which she was a past president. She was a 1933 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St. Aloysius Church. Bowling Green, Rev. Thomas Leyland officiated. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery, Bowling Green.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Dunn Funeral Home, Bowling Green.

Ralph F. Bendele
Ralph F. Bendele, 84, died at 5:01 a.m. June 4,1999, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 12, 1914, in Ottoville to Leo J. and Frances Katherine Schimmoeller Bendele. On May 5, 1937, he married Edna R. May, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Bendele retired as an engineer from Warner and Swayze Co. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Delphos.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Sha') Bendele of San Angelo, Texas, and Paul (Donna) Bendele of Fort Collins, Colo.; a daughter, Bendele Karen Owen of Delphos; two brothers, Robert Bendele and Thomas Bendele, both of Delphos; a sister, Dorothy Schmitz of Ponta Gorda, Fla.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kay Bendele; a brother, Rudolph Bendele; and a great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Gorman will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Amelia Bendele
Amelia "Millie' Bendele, 90, Ottoville, died at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 17, 1999, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. She was born February 11, 1909, in Cloverdale, to John and Anna (Osting) Knippen. On July 30, 1929, she married Gilbert C. Bendele and he died October 27, 1964.
Survivors include one son, Robert. P. (Arlene) Bendele, (Albert) Romer, St. Henry, and Jean (Bill) Igel, Columbus; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Martha Byrne, Ft. Jennings, and Armela Wannemacher, Delphos; and six
sisters-in-law, Regina Knippen, Ft. Jennings, Donnabelle Knippen, Cloverdale, Clara Knippen, Toledo, Isabelle Schimmoeller, Delphos, and Mildred Gladen and Albertha Bader, both of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by a grandson; four brothers, Art, Ray, Albert and Jack Knippen: and two sisters, Lucy Horstman and Adeline Kleman.
Mrs. Bendele was the former owner and accountant of the Ottoville Hardware and Furniture Company. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Altar Rosary Society.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Rev. Sylvan Obergefell officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Alma C. Warnement
Alma C. Warnement, 86, Kalida, died at 3: 10 a.m. on Monday, July 5, 1999, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Glandorf.
She was born December 6, 1912, in Ottoville, to Andrew and Mathilda (Sanders) Bendele. On February 11, 1931, she married Albert A. Warnement, Sr., and he died June 29, 1992.
Survivors include four sons, Albert 'Bones" Warnement. Jr., Grand Haven, MI. Leroy (Mary Ann) Warnement, Kalida, Thomas (Ladonna) Warnement, Ft. Jennings, and Paul Warnement, Toledo; two daughters, Janet (David) Recker, Ottawa, and Shirley (Dave) Goedde, Kalida: 19 grandchildren: 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Marcella Ankenbruck, Ft. Wayne, IN.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Nuttle: and five brothers, Hubert, Ed, Fred, Elmer and Norbert Bendele.
Mrs. Warnement was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida, and its Catholic Ladies of Columbia and Altar Rosary Society.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at St. Michael
Catholic Church, Kalida. Fr. Scott Kramer officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Ferdinand H. Wieferich
Ferdinand H. Wieferich, 90, died on July 5, 1999 ahead of his son and daughter-in-law's home on Wawatam Beach in Mackinaw City Michigan. He lived with them for the past 16 months. He was born on August 20, 1908 in Ottoville, Ohio. When he was about two years old Israeli mood to shepherd, Michigan where he grew up. Their next move was to Alma when he was a young man, at which time he met the love of his life, Otha Tassie Tanner. They were married on May 8, 1932 in Mount Pleasant and were happily married for 62 years. She preceded him in death on July 14, 1994. They made their home in Clare for many years. He started out driving for Foster bus lines, which was later taken over by Greyhound bus lines. He retired from Greyhound at age 65 with 37 years safe driving. Four days later he started working for Lansing Catholic Central as a school bus driver until he was 75 years old. He heads a safe driving record for the 10 years he worked there also. After living in Clare, Ferd and Otha spent their last 28 years together in the Lansing area, and he lived there five or years after her death. He was always a devout Catholic and very active at St. Cecilia Sinclair and St. Mary's Cathedral in Lansing. He was a third-degree night in the Knights of Columbus and was a grand night for two years. He belonged the Knights of Columbus for 60 years. He was also involved with the Boy Scouts during his earlier years in Clare, and for a while he was a dead later. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James and Mary Ellen Wieferich of Mackinaw city; two daughters and sons in law, Carol and Merlewayne Cotton, of Clare, Susan and Russell McKinney of Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Also surviving him are his brother, Sylvester Wieferich of Mount Pleasant and his sister, Margaret Recker of Shepherd and his sister-in-law, Dorothy Wieferich of Alma; Carri Arlene and BettyWieferich of Mount Pleasant; Bessie Tanner of how Lake Florida, Jean Tanner of Naples, Florida, Marion Tanner of Farmington Hills, and one brother-in-law, Leslie Tanner of Naples Florida. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry, Albert, Vincent and Clarence and his sister, Regina (Fookes) Cook; also his brother-in-law, Victor Fookes and William Cook; Dean Folsom, Lloyd and Paul Tanner, and his sister-in-law, Mabel Folsom. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Friday, July 9, 1999 at 10 AM from St. Patrick's Church in Irish town with Fr. Jack Hammer officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Alma. Visitation will be Thursday, July 8 from 2 to 9 PM at the Barry funeral home and Shepherd. There will be a Scripture service Thursday evening at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.

Lawrence H. Hoersten

Lawrence H. Hoersten, 85, Ottawa, died at 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 1999, at Calvary Manor Nursing Home, Glandorf.
He was a born September 28, 1913, in Ottoville, to Joseph and Anna (Beining) Hoersten. On April 24, 1945, he married Donelda Deck and she survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include one son, Dennis Hoersten, Ottawa: two daughters, Shirley Hoersten, Ottawa and Dolores (William) Shumaker, Elida: six grandchildren: two brothers, Anthony (Bernadine) Hoersten and Clarence (Rita) Hoersten, both of Ottoville; and four sisters, Barbara Schneider and Julie Hemker, both of Ottoville, Victoria (Herman) Luersman, Ft. Jennings, and Clara Ann (Herbert) Gerdeman, Delphos.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Felix, Vincent and Hugo Hoersten; two sisters, Matilda Herman and Elizabeth Wegesin; two half-brothers, Joseph and Edward Hoersten: and one half-sister, Marie Ellerbrock.
Mr. Hoersten retired as a maintenance man at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Ottawa, and was also a retired farmer.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa. Father Tom Hemm officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Love Funeral Home, Ottawa.

Lyle M. Pahl

TRAVERSE CITY - Lyle M. Pahl, 86, of Traverse City, died Monday evening at his home.
Born April 18, 1913, in Ottoville, Ohio, he was the son of Leo and Adeline E. (Wright) Pahl.
Lyle was a former employee of the Traverse City Iron Works. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Ushers Club, and he enjoyed working with the Funeral Luncheon Group. He was also an avid sportsman.
He is survived by two brothers, Leo Pahl of Traverse City and Joseph (Viola) Pahl of Centreville; two stepsons, John I. (Dorothy) Shaffran of Raytown, Mo. and Gerald A. (Bobbie) Shaffran of Traverse City; stepdaughter-in-law, Ruth M. Shaffran of Maple City; stepson-in-law, Dan Curtiss of Cadillac; a good friend and companion, Garnett DeTour of Traverse City; ten step-grandchildren; ten step-great-grandchildren, one step great-great-grandchild; and six nieces and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice (McNeil) Pahl in 1984; two brothers, LeRoy and Laverne Pahl; stepson, William R. Shaffran; and two stepdaughters, Rosetta Curtiss and Elizabeth Jean Shaffran.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Catholic Diocesan Cemetery in Traverse City.

Agnes C. Moeggenborg, Alma, MI, died on Monday, August 9, 1999, at Gratiot Community Hospital, Alma.
She was born August 2, 1918, in Ottoville, to William and Philomina (Wehri) Dickman. On September 2, 1937, she married Carl Moeggenborg, and he died in 1960. She then married Lewis Moeggenborg on April 29, 1967 in Shepherd. MI. and he died in
1991.
Survivors include four sons, Harold (Mary) Moeggenborg and Howard (Colleen) Moeggenborg, both of Alma, Stanley (Bette) Moeggenborg, Grand Rapids, and Gordon (Nancy) Moeggenborg, Shepherd: six daughters, Betty (Charles) Campbell, Mt.
Pleasant, Sister Marle Carla (Joan) OP, Cansing, Iren (John) Wright. Fowler, Judy (Jim)
Miller, Alma, Linda (Jim Niederiehner) Barkman, Swanton, and Marle (Jerry) Grundman, Waukaahaw, WI: 24 grandchildren: 12 great-grandchildren: two sisters, Delores Eickholt, Ottawa, and Hildegard Schnipke, Delaware: and one brother, Edmond (Barb) Dickman, Six Lakes.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Leonard, in 1969 and infants, Gerald and Joseph; two daughters, Jane, in 1991, and Edna as an infant; three sons-in law, Tom Barkman, Lyle Cotter and Richard Packer: two sisters, Anna and Alice: and three brothers, Hubert, Philip and Ferdinand.
Mrs. Moeggenborg enjoyed her family very much. She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Church, Shepherd.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 13, at St. Vincent DePaul Church. Shepherd, MI. Father William Rutkowskl, Deacon John Wilberding, Bishop Carl Mengling, Monsignor Michael Murphy, Monsignor Robert Landsford and Father J.
Manley officiated. Burial was in St. Vincent DePaul Cemetery.

Louis A. Kehres
Louis A. "Dick" Kehres, 93, of SR 103, Tiro, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in Crestwood Care Nursing Home, Shelby, following a two-year illness.
He was born Aug. 18, 1906, in Ottoville to Sebastian H. and Theresa (Yocklin) Kehres, and lived most of his life in the New Washington area. His wife, Genevieve A. (Heydinger) Kehres, whom he married Oct. 24, 1928, survives.
Survivors also include: a daughter, Sister Theresa Kehres O.S.F. of New Boston; seven sons, Gerald, Carl, Robert "Spark," and Daniel Kehres, all of New Washington, Ben Kehres of Tiro, Kenneth Kehres of El Dorado, Kan., and Father Franklin Kehres of Sandusky; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Also preceding him in death were a son, Frederick Kehres; three brothers, Fred, Edward and Isadore; and four sisters, Sister M. Julia Kehres, Ida Siebenaler, Rose Cramer and Dorothy Hertzer.
Mr. Kehres, a farmer, was a member of the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Bernard Catholic Church, New Washington, with the Rev. Frank Kehres presiding. Burial will be in Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery, North Auburn.
Visitation at the Secor Funeral Home, New Washington, will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, where a Scripture service will be at 8:45 p.m.

Maurice R. Wannemacher
Maurice R Wannemacher, 76, Ottoville, died at 1:10 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 1999, at Vancrest Health Care Center, Van Wert.
He was born February 8, 1923, in Ottoville, to Urban and Fannie (Rekart) Wannemacher. On November 8, 1947, he married Norma Metzger, and she survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include one son, Darie (Amy) Wannemacher, Ottoville; two daughters, Pam (Howard) Odenweller and Renee (Paul) Gudakunst, both of Ottoville; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Makenzie, and Ryan Odenweller. Michelle (Todd) Hanneman, Devon Wannemacher, and Kerri, Tara, Erik and John Gudakunst: and one great-grandson, Jordon Gudakunst.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas, Stanley, and Jack Wannemacher; and one sister, Connie Osting.
Mr. Wannemacher was the owner of Wannemacher's Tavern for 51 years and a bus driver for the Ottoville Local Schools for years.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottovllle, and its Holy Name Society, the Ottoville Volunteer Fire Department for 45 years, a 50-year and life member of the Van Wert Elks, the Delphos Eagles #371, and the Lima Orioles Nest # 173.
He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Ottoville VFW Post #3750, and the Ft. Jennings American Legion Post #715. He was an Army veteran of World War II, where he received a Purple Heart.
He was an avid sports enthusiast sponsoring and coaching basketball, baseball. Softball, bowling and pool teams for 50 years.
Mass of Christian Burial was held a t 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. Rev. Sylvan Obergefell officiated. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, with military rites by the Ottoville VFW and Ft. Jennings American Legion.

Mass of Christian burial for Gerald Honigford, 59, of Ottoville will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville. The Revs. Dennis Walsh and Sylvan Obergefell will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Ottoville.
Mr. Honigford died 12:20 a.m. Sept. 2 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
He was born May 19, 1940, in Ottoville to Clem and Bertha (Weber) Honigford. He married Carol Spieles Aug. 26, 1961, in Delphos. She died March 11, 1997.
Survivors include two sons, Randall (Joyce) Honigford of Kalida and Brad (Kelly Warnecke) Honigford of Columbus; four daughters, Marla (Michael) Kelsey and Kathleen Honigford of Toledo and Linda Honigford and Cheryl Honigford of Cincinnati; three brothers, Richard Honigford of Landeck, Harold Honigford of Ottoville and Paul Honigford of Coldwater; three sisters, Dorothy Fuerst and Marilyn Walsh of Lima and Betty Knippen of Elida; three grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer and Matthew Honigford of Kalida; and a special friend, Ruth Miller of Ottoville.
Mr. Honigford was a warehouseman for Roundy's. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, its Holy Name Society and several of its choirs. He was a member of the Brass Notes for many years and was a sports enthusiest.

Lulu Belle Gasser, 68, died at 10:50 a.m. Oct. 13, 1999, at St. Rita's Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 23, 1931, in Venedocia to William and Easter Hickle Eutsler. On Feb. 16, 1957, she married Eugene S. "Red" Gasser, who survives.
Mrs. Gasser was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville.
Survivors also include four sons, Tim (Mary Lou) Gasser of Sylvania, Ralph Gasser of Ft. Jennings, Mark Gasser of Ottoville and Jeff (Cindy) Gasser of Cloverdale; a daughter Judy (Jim) Klausing of Amherst; five brothers, Carl Eutsler of Pennsylvania, Bill Eutsler of Venedocia, Art Eutsler of Harrod, Lowell Eutsler of Ohio City and Paul Eutsler of Spencerville; a sister, Millie Smith of Syracuse, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

Gertrude C. Rode, 61, died at 11:58 a.m. Nov. 10, 1999, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 7, 1938, in Ottoville to Jacob and Veronica Ricker Burgei. On Aug. 9, 1958, she married Kenneth E. Rode, who survives.
Mrs. Rode was a secretary for Reliable Plumbing and Heating, Delphos. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos.
Survivors also include two sons, Daniel G. (Sue) Rode of Delphos and Brian V. (Carol) Rode of Arlington; three daughters, Karen (Stan) Wisher of Elida, Lisa (Dave) Siefker of Delphos and Marcia (Jason) Vance of Cridersville; two brothers, Orville Burgei of Middle Point and Tom Burgei of Ottoville; five sisters. Ralph A. Miller, 67, died at 11:02 a.m. Nov. 17, 1999 at St. Rita's Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 14, 1932, in Landeck to Ferd and, Agnes Pohlman Miller.
On April 13, 1955, he married Irene Burgei, who survives.
Mr. Miller retired from farming and Wannemacher Construction. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, and its Holy Name Society. He was a veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors also include six daughters, Nancy (Jimmy) Spencer, Sandy (Todd) Wannemacher, Joyce (Mike) Basinger, Angie (Allan) Honigford and Becky (Kevin) Krouskop, all of Ottoville, and Sue (Kevin) Logan of St. Mary’s; two brothers, Tom Miller of Delphos and Robert Miller of Landeck; two sisters, Theresa Honigfort of Lima and Helen Drerup of Van Buren; and 13 grandchildren.

She was bom Sept. 12, 1908 in Ottoville to John Henry and Kathrina Wallen Krietemeyer.
Miss Krietemeyer was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville.
Survivors include two sisters. Sister Mary Pretonia (Anna Krietemeyer) of Salem Heights and Christina Ruhe of Continental.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dave, Frank, William and John Krietemeyer; and three sisters, Clara Wurst, Elizabeth Krietemeyer and Mary Miller

Anna M. Koenig, 98, Leipsic, died at 8:10 p.m. on Friday, December 17, 1999, at Putnam Acres Care Center, Ottawa.
She was born July 10, 1901, in Ottoville, to Henry and Catherine (Ricker) Landwehr, Sr. She married August J. Koenig on May 27, 1925 and he died on May 20, 1978.
Survivors include two sons, Felix (Evelyn) Koenig and Virgil Koenig, Sr., both of Leipsic; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three grandsons; four brothers, John, Henry, William and Charles Landwehr; and five sisters, Wilma Siefker, Kathryn Rupley, Mary Turnwald, Elizabeth Koenig and Theresa Friemoth.
Mrs. Koenig was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic, and its Alter Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Leipsic Senior Citizens.
A funeral Mass was held Monday, December 20, 1999, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Leipsic. Fr. John Joseph officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.
