Sophia C. Heckman
Mrs. Sophia C. Heckman, 76, of 304 Walnut, died 11:55 a.m. Monday in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima.
She was born here March 30, 1893, the daughter of John and Kathryn Bonholzer Wanemacher. She was married in 1913 to Louis W. Heckman, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Mary Catherine at home, Mrs. Thomas (Agnes) Archdeacon of Ottoville, Mrs. Bernard (Gertrude) Shay of Dayton and Mrs. David (Margaret) Heiss of Lima and a son Paul of Dayton; and seven grandchildren.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, its Alter Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
Requiem High Mass will be offered 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the church by Rev. Louis Huffman. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Friends may call at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Ottoville, after 7 tonight, where the Rosary will be recited 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Charles L. Kleman
Charles L. Kleman, 63, of route 3, Delphos, died, in his home on Saturday morning at 9 a.m.
The son of Bernard and Christina Neidert Kleman, he was horn in Ottoville on November 21, 1906. He was married to Ruth Vatula (Tula) Dunlap on June 20, 1942 and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. William (Alvina) Stallkamp, Delphos, Sister Charlotte Kleman. S.F.P., of Columbus three sons, Jerome, Union City, Ind., Keith and George, both at home; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Raylene Fischer, Delphos, a step-son Gilbert G. Schulte of Fort Jennings; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Ottoville and the Senior Citizens Social Club. He was a retired lumberman and farmer.
Requiem High Mass was offered by the Rev. Louis Huffman at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Alphonse Klima
Alphonse Klima, 61, of Jackson, Mich., Ottoville native, died 4 a.m. Friday in a Jackson hospital.
He was born near here in 1908, the son of John and Mary Kiefer Klima.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby; a daughter, Mrs. Lavon Trefrey of Ann Arbor,
Mich.; three sons, Gerald, John and David, all of Jackson; two brothers, Sylvester of Delphos and Edward of Brighton, Mich.; and five sisters, Miss Martha Klima and Mrs. Oscar Hempfling, both of Delphos; Mrs. Walter Gary of Cleveland, Mrs. Margaret Kill of Wapakoneta and Mrs. Cletus Brinkman of Ottoville.
Requiem High Mass will be offered 11 a.m. Monday in Queen's Catholic Church,
Jackson. Burial will be in that city.

John C. Eickholt
John C. Eickholt, 90, of Ottoville, died in St. Rita's Hospital at 2 a.m. Sunday following an illness of one week.
Born in Ottoville on September 1, 1879, he was the son of Joseph and Ellen Hatfield Eickholt. He was married to Lydia Bartz, who preceded him in death. On September 29, 1911. He married Mary, Matilda Miller.
Surviving with his wife are daughters, Mrs. Bill (Helen) Ulrich and Mrs. Arnold (Calista) Miller, both of Delphos, Mrs. Ralph (Kathryn) Altenburger, Lima: four sons, Ralph, Lima, Vincent, Roman and Orval all of Ottoville, a sister Mrs. Dean Wurst, Lima: 53 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter; Mrs. Alvertice (Dolly) Friemoth is deceased.
A retired farmer, he was a trustee for Monterey Township, a member of, the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church :of Ottoville and its Holy Name Society.
The Rev. Louis Huffman officiated at services, which were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church, interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.

Anna C. Rieger
            Mrs. Anna C. Rieger, 83, of Ottoville, died Saturday at 2:05 p.m. in St. Rita’s Hospital, Lima, following a ten-day illness.
            The daughter of Charles and Anna Hipp Wannemacher, she was born in Ottoville on February 12, 1887. She was married to George Rieger on October 30, 1905. He preceded her in death in 1966.
            Mrs. Rieger is survived by three daughters, Miss Euletta Rieger, at home, Mrs. Eugene (Ruth Ann) Hoehn, Ottoville and Miss Ethel Rieger, of Ft. Wayne, Ind., one son George G. of Ottoville, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
            She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, the Alter Rosary Society and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
            Services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, in the church, with the Rev. Louis Huffman officiating. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Walter Trenkamp
Requiem High Mass for Walter Trenkamp, 61, of 522 ½ E. 4th, who died Thursday at his residence, will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Werner Verhoff celebrant. Burial will be in church cemetery.
Born August 3, 1908 in Ottoville, he was the son of August and Anna Trenkamp. He was married to Esther Magg in 1930, she died in August of 1967.
Survivors include five sons, Walter Jr., of New Bavaria; Roger of Ottawa, Eugene of Lima, Orville of Centerline, Mich., and David of Holgate; two daughters, Mrs. Ted (Annamarie) Brown of Holgate, and Mrs. Joe (Juanita) Klear of New Bavaria; 25 grandchildren; three brothers, Henry; of Ottoville, James of Lima, and August of Fort Jennings and five sisters, Mrs. Charley Landwehr of Kalida, Sister Mary Alma of Celina, Mrs. John Dugan of Lima, Mrs. Norman Fisher of Huntington Woods, Mich., and Mrs. Ed Dreosch of Dayton.
A retired farmer, he was a member of the Ottawa Eagles Lodge.

Anna M. Becker
            Mrs. Anna Becker, 80, Ottoville, died in her home at 5 a.m. Friday.
            Born in Ft. Jennings on October 12, 1889, she was the daughter of Henry and Catherine Fisher Schulatman. She married Frank C. Becker on May 5, 1909 and he died in August of 1955.
            She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Marcella) Shumaker, Delphos, and Mrs. Rudolph (Bernadine) Utrup, Columbus Grove; a son, Melvin, Ottoville; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
            Mrs. Becker was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Rosary Alter Society.
            Requiem High Mass celebrated by the Rev, Louis Huffman at 10 a.m. Monday with interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Isadore Freibruger
            Requiem High Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday for Isadore Freiburger, 71, Ottoville, who died at 10 a.m. Monday in Van Wert County Hospital.
            The son of Joseph and Mary Schneider Freiburger, he was born in Ottoville on May 10, 1898.
            He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Irma Sunderland, Van Wert; and two brothers, Bruno, Ottoville and Joseph, Van Wert.
            He was a painter and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville.
            The Rev. Louis Huffman celebrated the mass with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Robert J. Schweller
Boy On Bike Dies, Driver Shoots Self
            Paulding – “Come out here right away! Something terrible has happened.” The Paulding County sheriff’s department was told Sunday afternoon. the caller, a motorist, was summoning aid to an accident scene on Paulding County Road 179, one-quarter mile from the Defiance County Line.
            “There are bodies all over the road.” The motorist shouted into the phone.
            Two persons were dead, one by his own hand, and a third lay along a highway guardrail, critically injured. Paulding County authorities received the call at 4:45 p.m.
            Killed when a minibike on which he had been riding collided with a northbound auto was 4-year-old Robert Schweller of Ft. Jennings. The minibike operator, Randolph Altenburger, 19, of Ottoville, was rushed to St. Rita’s Hospital, Lima, with multiple injuries. He remained in critical condition today.
            Both boys, whose parents were camping nearby, were dragged 100 feet under a car driven by Woody L. Steele, 24, of Waiterville, W. Va., following the collision.
            Steel, apparently grief stricken, shot and killed himself. His body was found sprawled on the highway, a few feet from his auto. A .38 caliber pistol lay nearby.
            Investigators surmise Steele surveyed the grim scene, then removed the pistol from his car’s trunk and shot himself.
            Friends of Steele told investigators he often had talked of committing such an act “if anything like that happened to him.”
            Paulding County Coroner Dr. D. E. Farling declared the victims dead at the scene. He has not yet rued on the cause of death.
            Services for the four year old Schweller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schweller of Ft. Jennings are pending at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Ottoville.
            Steele was removed to Mast-Mock Funeral Home here, prior to transfer to Waiterville.
Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday for Robert J. Schweller at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ottoville, offered by Rev. Louis Huffman. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ottoville.


Robert, 4, was killed 5 p.m. Sunday on Power Dam Road in a car-minibike accident. He was the son of Henry and Jeanette (Pohlman) Schweller, Rt. 2, Fort Jennings.
Surviving, besides the parents, are two sisters, Judith and Susan, both at home: maternal grandmother, Mrs. Milda Pohlman. Delphos; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Regina Schweller, Ottoville.
Friends may call at Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Ottoville, after 2 p.m.
today. The Rosary will be recited in the funeral home 8 tonight.

Mary Matilda Altenburger
Funeral services, for Mrs. Mary M. Altenburger, 77, were held Saturday morning in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Ottoville. A resident of the Ottoville community all her life, Mrs. Altenburger died at 3:50 Thursday morning in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima following an illness of six weeks.
Born in Ottoville on November 14, 1892, she was the daughter of John and Mary Studer Frieburger. She was married on November 12, 1912, in Ottoville to George W. Altenburger, who died on March 12. 1967.
Survivors include three sons, Ralph, Lima; Raymond, Detroit, Mich., and Walter, Ottoville; four daughters, Mrs. Otto (Lucille) Neumeier, Lima;  Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Keko, Lincoln Park, Mich., Mrs. Bud (Ruby) Hooker, Columbus Grove; Mrs. Robert (Vera) Tenwalde, Ottawa; a sister. Mrs. Barbara Paschal, of Missouri; a brother, Charles Frieburger, Idaho; 14, grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Two daughters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Altenburger was a member of the Delphos Eagles Auxiliary, the, Ottoville Senior Citizens Club, the Ottoville VFW Auxiliary, and the Rosary Altar Society of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
The Rev. Louis Huffman officiated at the services with interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.

Laverne A. Siemet
Laverne A. Seimet, 53, Ottoville resident, died at 2:20 Wednesday afternoon in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima. He had been in failing health for two years and seriously ill for two weeks.
Mr. Seimet was born at Miller City on June 14, 1917, a son of Phillip and Edith Sheeley Seimet. He was married to Velma G. Meyers on November 23, 1964.
Surviving with his wife are two children. Rohanda Sue and Lana Lynn; at home; four children by, a previous marriage, Mrs. Richard (Doris)- BirkeMeier, Ottawa; Mrs. William (Maralyn) Nartker, Kalida, Mrs. Dennis (Carol) Catell, Cairo; and a son. Richard Seimet, of Ottawa; his mother, Mrs.. Ed (Edith) Hermiller, of Ottawa; eight step-children. Mrs. Jerry (Bonnie) Walters, Van Wert; Tonda Lee and Terry Lynn Phillips, at home; Barry Phillips, of Kalida, and Jay Lee, Travis, Dale, Jeffery Dean and Todd Dawane, all at home; 11 grandchildren; a brother, Virgil Seimet, of Lima, and a half-sister Mrs. Donald (Ruth) Like, of New Bavaria.
A retired employee of the Defiance Milk Products Company, Mr. Seimet was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where services will be held Saturday morning. The Rev. Richard Schalk will officiate. Burial will be the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funera1 Home in Ottoville after seven o'clock this evening. Thursday. The parish rosary will be recited at eight o'clock Friday evening.

Ludwin Wannemacher
            Ludwin Wannemacher, 52, 6J6 W. 8th, died 11:45 p.m. Saturday. He was dead on arrival at Joint Township Hospital, St. Mary’s, following a heart attack.
He was born Jan. 12, 1918, in Ottoville, the son of Walter and Adeline Schwertner Wannemacher. He was married Oct. 18, 1945, in Ottoville, to Marcella Ruen who survives.
Also surviving are his mother; three daughters, Jane, Ann and Mary Lou, and a son, Eugene all at home; a sister, Mrs. Arnold (Mildred) Luersman of Delphos; and a
brother, Raymond of Ottoville.
He served in World War II, and was a member of the Ohio Foresters Association
and St. John's Catholic Church. He was the owner-operator of the Landeck Lumber Mill.
Requiem High Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Church, Rev. Albert
Oltenweller celebrant. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Catherine Hoersten, 82, of Rt. 1 Rockford, died 2:30 a.m. today in Van Wert Manor nursing home.
She was born Dec. 13, 1887, in Ottoville, the daughter of John and Mary Nichols
Fischbach. She married Louis Hoersten Nov. 25, 1916, and he survives
Also surviving are six sons, Edwin of 1700 Garland, Lima; Isidore of Van Wert, Richard of Rt. 1, Rockford, Harold of Van Wert, Roger of Sidney and John of Rockford; four daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Rita) Adams and Mrs. Louis (Edith) Digger, both of Grover Hill; Mrs. Russell (Mary) Bollinger of Cloverdale and Mrs. Fred (Jenette) Black of Payne; a brother, Henry Fischbach of Delphos; 42 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
She was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Rockford, where services will be 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville. Friends may
call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited 8 p.m. Wednesday.

            Alphonse Schlagbuam, 65, Lima, died following an extended illness at 5 a.m. Saturday in University Hospital, Columbus.
            The son of William and Lucy Kehres Schlagbaum, he was born December 1, 1904, in Ottoville.
            He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Alberta Murray, and Miss Agnes Schlagbaum, both of Lima; Mrs. Edith German, Delphos, and Mrs. Oscar (Martha) Ulrich, Ottoville; two brothers, George, Lima, and Walter of Ottoville.
            Mr. Schlagbaum was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville.
            Requiem High Mass was offered at 1 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Louis Huffman in the church with interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.

Baby Girl Koester
            The infant daughter of Ralph and Margaret Utrup Koester, Ottoville, died at brith at 5 p.m. in Lima St. Rita’s Hospital. Surviving in addition to the parents, are a brother, Ralph, at home; four sisters, Donna, Karen, Dianne, and Jane, all at home; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Utrup, Ft. Jennings.
            Graveside rites were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, the Rev. Louis Huffman officiating.

Casimer W. Kehres
            A former resident of Ottoville, Casimer W. Kehres, 69, died at the Del Ward Nursing Home in Delphos on Sunday morning.
            The son of John and Anna Helmkamp Kehres, he was born in Ottoville on March 4, 1906.
            He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Henrietts Evers, Anna; Miss Emelia Kehres, Toledo; Sister Mary Victoria, Maria Stein; and Mrs. Frank Reckart, Van Nuys, Calif.
            The Rev. Louis Huffman celebrated the requiem high mass at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Christina L. Miller
Mrs. Christine L. Miller, 76, Ottoville, died at 7:35 a.m. Saturday in St. Rita's Hospital following an illness of five years, she had been seriously ill one week.
Born in Cloverdale on September 5, 1894, she was the daughter of Henry and Louise Peters Fischer. She was married in February, 1915 in Cloverdale, to William J. Miller. He died in March of 1969.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Evelyn) Weber, Glandorf; a son, Lawrence, Ottoville; one brother, Lawrence Fischer, Ottoville; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A daughter, Alma Philo, died in May of this year. A son, Herbert, is also deceased.
Mrs. Miller was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville, the Catholic Ladies of Columbia, the Rosary Altar Society and the VFW Auxiliary of Ottoville.
Requiem High Mass will be held at 10:m a.m. Saturday in the church with the Rev. Louis Huffman officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Ottoville after 7
o'clock tonight, Thursday. The parish rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Albert Winkelman
Albert (Rip) Winkelman, 78, resident of Ottoville died at 6:20 Friday evening in St. Rita's Hospital. Lima. He had been in failing health for six months and seriously ill the past month.
He was barn at Ottoville on November 25, 1891, the son of Max and Sabina Rekart Winkelman. He was never married.
Surviving arc three sisters Misses Mayme and Rose Winkelman, of Ottoville, and Mrs. Alcid (Alma) Bourgeois, of Toledo, and a brother. Richard J. Winkelman of Toledo.
A retired farmer and a former employee of Sylvania Electric in Ottawa, Mr. Winkelman was an alumnus of Ohio State University department of agriculture, and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Services were held in the church at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning. The Rev. Louis Huffman officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Theresa Marie Bockrath (Infant)
            The infant daughter of Edward and Anna Schimmoeller Bockrath, Ottoville was buried with graveside rites at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The child, Theresa Marie, was born in Lima St. Rita’s Hospital at 10 a.m. Friday and succumbed an hour and forty-five minutes later.
            Surviving in addition to the parents are a brother, Brian, at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Schimmoeller, of rural Ft. Jennings; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bockrath, of rural Cloverdale.
            The Rev. Louis Huffman officiated at the services. Arrangements were in charge of Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home, Ottoville.

Thomas R. Gudakunst
            Thomas Reed Gudakunst, 72, of Rt. 3, Elida, died noon Thursday in Lima Memorial Hospital following a heart attack.
He was born June 21, 1898, in Monterey Township, Putnam County, son of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Gudakunst. He married Laverna Etta McClure and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons, William of Rt. 1, Elida, and Doyle of 1709 Frail Rd.; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ralph (Ilo) Barnes of Rt., Cloverdale.
He was a retired farmer and member of Cairo United Church of Christ. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Harris Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Rev. Paul Dowty and Rev. Russell Smith officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, near Ottoville. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.

Ottmer C. Landwehr
Farm Mishap Takes Life Of Ottoville Farmer
A farm accident took the life of a Putnam County man at his home northwest of Ottoville at 3:30 Tuesday afternoon. Othmer (Ott) Landwehr was crushed to death after the grain elevator he was adjusting apparently collapsed and fell on him.
Landwehr was rushed to a doctor's office in Delphos by a Kolkmeyer ambulance where he was pronounced dead.
Mr. Landwehr, 29, was born on October 14, 1941, in Lima to Henry and ,Bernadine Siefker Landwehr. He was married on November 5, 1966, in Fort Jennings to Catherine Broecker, and she survives.
Surviving also are two daughters, Brenda and Marsha at home; his father, Henry, and stepmother, Mary C. of Delphos; a sister Mrs. Carl (Marcell) Kehres, Cloverdale; a twin brother; Arthur, Fort Jennings; three other brothers, Louis, Ottoville; Henry, Lima,
and Jerome, of Fort Jennings; three stepsisters, Mrs. Paul, (Ruth) VonderEmbse; and Mrs.. Helen Kill, both of Lima; Mrs; Raymond (Martha) Howe, Springfield; two stepbrothers, Robert Beck. Delphos and George Beck, Phoenix, Arizona.
Mr. Landwehr served in the United States Army and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and the Holy Name Society. He was a farmer and an employee of the Lima Beverage Company.
Requiem High Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Louis Huffman officiating. Burial will in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville.

Mary Bohn
            Requiem High Mass for Mary Bonn, 87, will be offered 9:30 a.m. Friday in
St. John's Catholic Church by Rev. Albert Ottenweller. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Bohn died 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Rita's Hospital, Lima. She was born April 11, 1883, in Ottoville, daughter of Frederick and Agnes Strodhmen Bohn.
Surviving is a sister, Amelia Bohn of here.
She was a member of St. John's Church, Altar-Rosary Society, and formerly was employed as a seamstress for Odenweller Clothing Co.

Mary Ann Bensman
Sr. Mary Clementine Benman, 80, CDP, St. Ann convent, Melbourne, died Monday Saint Luke Hospital she took vows in 1912 as a Sister of Divine Providence.
She is survived by four sisters and five brothers, including Sr. Christine Bensman, CDP, St. Aloysius school, Covington. Mass of the resurrection will be at 4 PM Wednesday at the Holy Family Home, St. Ann Convent, with burial at the convent. Visitation, from 4 to 8 PM today at the Holy Family Home. The Meuhlenkamp – Erschell Funeral Home, Newport, is in charge of arrangements.

Andrew J. Miller
            Andrew J. Miller, 69, of Ottoville, died in Dotson Nursing Home, Mandale, at 5:30 a.m. Monday.
            A native of Ottoville he was born on December 20, 1900, the son of John and Catherine Deitering Miller.
            He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Matilda Eickholt, of Ottoville; and Adeline Miller, of Toledo; two brothers, Leo H., Ottoville and Robert, Toledo.
            Requiem High Mass offered by the Rev. Louis Huffman, of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Burial was in the church cemetery.

            Requiem High Mass will be offered for Louis J. Wannemacher, 89, of Ottoville, following his death at 12:25 p.m. in Lima St. Rita’s Hospital, Wednesday.
            A native of Ottoville, he was born on October 7, 1881, to Benedict and Regina Sellet Wannemacher. He was married on November 5, 1907, in Ottoville, to Mary C. Schneider. She died on November 9, 1967.
            Survivors include three sons, Edward J., Ottoville; Cletus J. and Fred, both of Dayton; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A son, Marvin, preceded him in death.
            Mr. Wannemacher was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic
Church in Ottoville, and its Holy Name Society. He had retired after being associated with the milling business for a number of years.
            The Rev. Louis Huffman will officiate at the services in the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Ottoville after 7 p.m. tonight, Thursday. The parish rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Friday.

George L. Miller
            George L. Miller, 68, of Ottoville, died in Van Wert Hospital on December 24, at 8:40 p.m.
            A native of Ottoville, he was born on August 14, 1902, the son of George and Mary Yocklin Miller. He married Gertrude Fischer in 1928 and she survives.
            Surviving also are three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Betty) Knott, Columbus Grove; Mrs. Donald (June) Korte, Delphos; Mrs. Arthur (Ruth) Schuller, Curtice; and Vivian at home; sons Kenneth A. of Ottoville and Walter A., with the U. S. Army in Germany; a sister, Mrs. Arnold (Mary) Liebrecht, of Ottoville; and 12 grandchildren.
            The retired president of Miller Brothers Clay Works, he was the last of the brothers who founded the business.
            Mr. Miller was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.
            The Rev. Louis Huffman officiated at the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the church with interment in the church cemetery.

George A. Martin
George Martin, 87, of 607 E. Third St. Delphos, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Delphos Memorial Home after an extended illness.
Mr. Martin, a retired livestock dealer, was born Nov. 7, 1883, in Ottoville, a son of William and Katherine (Kersting) Martin. His wife, the former Elizabeth M. Hoffman, whom he married March 27, 1906, died Jan. 28,1961.
He was a member of Delphos St. John's Catholic Church and the Delphos Eagles.
Surviving are nine daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Jane) Young of 303 S. Franklin St. Van Wert, Mrs. Gilbert (Frances) Kroeger, Mrs. Leo (Eleanora) Grothouse, Mrs. Louis (Viola) Studenka, and Mrs. Fred (Helen) Cross, all of Delphos, Mrs. Linus (Irene) Kill, Mrs. Herman (Catherine) Miller, and Mrs. Thomas (Marie) Etzkorn of Landeck, and Mrs. Billy (Leona) Adams of Grover Hill. Also a son, Albert of Delphos; one sister, Mrs. Emma Klima of the St. Francis Home in Tiffin; 41 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren. A brother, Henry, is deceased.
Requiem high mass will be at 11 a. m. Saturday in St. John's Catholic Church, the Rev. Albert Ottenweller to officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Kolkmeyer-Helmkamp Funeral Home in Delphos, after 7 p.m. Thursday.

Veronica Hilvers
            Mrs. Veronica Hilvers, 89, of route 2, Ft. Jennings, died in her home at noon Thursday, she was born on November 13, for the past three months.
            A native of Austria-Hungary, she was on November 13, 1881, the daughter of Peter and Eva Rastadter Metzger. On June 15, 1904, she married Anthony Hilvers. He died in 1945.
            She is survived by a son, Leo, of Ottoville; daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Martha) Pohl and Mrs. August (Amelia) Kreinbrink, both of Ottoville; Mrs. Rose Allemeier, of Delphos; a brother John, also of Delphos; sisters, Mrs. Leo (Catherine) Allemeier and Mrs. Emma Osting; 26 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.
            Mrs. Hilvers was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ottoville and its Alter Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia.
            The Rev. Louis Huffman officiated at the services which were held in the church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery Ottoville.
